  1. Oliver's epic buttload of manpain. Roy's magically developed sidekick skills. Sara's final dumpster dive. KC's barely contained glee at finally getting the chance to play FC (Fake Canary). Everything wrong with this series in 42 minutes of less. Oddly, the only thing I enjoyed about this episode was Ray, a smarmy asshole who hacks his competition and renames cities for giggles. Considering Oliver just broke Felicity's heart because he's scared of himself, I will happily watch Raylicity snark at each other until Ollie's regularly scheduled May-pocalypse Epiphany.
  2. We're not that lucky. He'll find the "thing", and assume Anna's using it because she doesnt want to have his spawn, and then, manpain until he gets arrested for murder again, and then she'll have to stand by his side, suffering, like the good wife. Blech.
  3. Batman Eternal has just updated that . I don't know if any of this is going to be included, but it would make a pretty cool story.
  4. I don't think we'll see Ivy again. She was just an easter egg to to get the comic fans excited. I do expect to see plenty more of Selina, and at some point interacting with Bruce. Perhaps she could help him slip Alfred's leash, and teach him about life on the streets. I hope we get to see some of young Bruce's journey towards becoming Batman.
  5. Question's been answered. Q2, I don't really know if Falcone had anything to do with it; Jim Gordon didn't think so. Q3, I absolutely don't believe that the Joker is going to turn out to be the killer. The only place I've ever seen that was in the Burton films. Everywhere else, Joe Chill has been the killer (either as a lowlife thug, or a paid assassin). Also, the actor was too heavyset to match the traditional portrayal of Mr. J. Q4: I think they're taking pieces of stories from everyone. The look and feel of the show, is a bit like the Batman animated series from the 90's. Selina's costume look inspired from Darwyn Cooke. Q5: that's not Batgirl, it's her mother, also named Barbara.
  6. I don't think they'll use Roy or Donna, particularly if it's a shared universe with Arrow. I expect they'll use some variation of the characters from the old TT cartoon, or maybe they'll use the new lineup from the comics. Although, the general audience might be baffled that Tim Drake is Robin instead of Dick Grayson.
  7. I think it's going to take a little bit of canon from everything, and make up some of it's own. (ie: future Poison Ivy named Ivy instead of Pamela). About the pearl necklace: Martha Wayne's pearls spilling onto the ground is an iconic image from Batman, they pretty much had to use it, even if it's not realistic (which I didn't know because I've never had a pearl necklace).
  8. Emily VanCamp. In my version, Laurel (called Dinah, because that's her name), found clues that led her to believe that what happened to the Queen's Gambit wasn't an accident, but sabotage. No one else believed her, so she investigated alone. Eventually, this led her to an old friend of her mother's, Ted Grant (played by Adam Baldwin). Her taught her all kinds of fighting skills, and finally confessed that her mother was once the mysterious, and legendary, Black Canary..Well, you can guess what happened next. Flash forward a couple of years to Oliver's return. Dinah grills him about the accident, and tells him her theory. He blows her off (because he wants to "protect" her). Meanwhile, Oliver begins his misson to avenge his father, only to find another vigilante is already on the job, and she's got plans of her own. Black Canary: You're nothing but a killer. Arrow: I've got a mission. Stay out of my way. BC: This is my town, freak. Arrow: Not anymore. BC: Grrr! Arrow: Grrr! This continues for awhile, while each becomes more attracted to their costumed counterpart (Oliver and Dinah have decided that it's all too painful to get back together). This all comes to a head when they discover Malcolm was behind everything. They learn each other's secret identities as they desperately race to prevent the Undertaking. Then, in season 2, Sara returns from the dead, with a story about wandering around for years with amnesia. Is it true, or is she really a member of the LoA sent to by Ra's al Ghul on a secret misson that puts Oliver and all of Starling City in danger?
  9. Here's my one post: I would have been able to tolerate this ugly-ass poster if they had just switched Laurel and Diggle's position. Right now, it just brings to mind season 2b, with Team Arrow constantly being shoved aside because of a Lance sister. More than anything else, that's what I don't want to see in season 3.
  10. See, Diggle hooking up wth his brother's widow is disrespectful to his brother, a man. Oliver playing vagina ping pong with the Lance sisters is disrespectful to two women, so, what's the problem? /mansplaining.
  11. Gosh, I love Katrina! She always looks like she'd be so much fun to hang around with.
  12. They can't make an X-Men tv show, even if they want, because of the convoluted rights issues between Fox and Marvel/Disney. As for BoP, I'd only be interested if it was a movie franchise, and not a tv show. I'm afraid a tv show version would be subtitled, "Chicks Oliver's Banged", and that would be so, so insulting to the original source material.
  13. The worst part of this is that you know there's going to be a triangle. Kurt will come back to town and try to steal Blaine's cottage cheese ass away from Karofsky, and at some point Darren Criss will grace us all with his soulful rendition of "Torn Between Two Lovers". And now I have to go clean the vomit off my keyboard.
  14. http://deadline.com/2014/08/ryan-mcpartlin-joins-nbcs-bad-judge-jr-ramirez-in-starzs-power-820334/ JR Ramirez has been made regular on another show, so it looks like the whole Laurel/Wildcat story is fizzling out before it even begins. I guess he'll make one appearance, do something with Laurel for canon's sake, and that'll be that. I honestly don't know what the frilly heck is going on with Laurel's storyline. Are they even trying? Is it all just lip service? Why didn't they bother to sign him for multiple episodes?
  15. Well, wasn't Kate supposed to have chemistry with both of those doofuses? I ask because I hated everybody involved in that mess. Chemistry is in the eye of the beholder, no pairing is ever going to please everyone, but consensus tends to build up around one couple. That's not unsual, it happens all the time.
  16. They could use a bit of makeup, a little gray around the temples, and make a few veiled references to the Lazarus Pit. It just never occurred to me to have PP as Ra's until I read it here; and now, it's going to sit in my brain and take root and grow until they announce who they actually cast, and then I'll be crushed with disappointment like when they cast Brandon Routh instead of Luke Mitchell. So, thanks guys. :)
  17. Robbie Amell has been cast in The Flash as the recurring character "Firestorm". In the comic, this character was Felicity Smoak's stepson, so I'm guess he will be reimagined Despite my hopes and prayer (and sacrifices to assorted pagan deities), Luke Mitchell was not cast as Felicity's new love interest in Arrow. However, he has been cast in the ABC mid-season replacement series, Members Only. According to the press release, he'll be playing Jesse, a rough around the edges guy, who goes to work at an exclusivie country club, and becomes entangled with a wealthy family. This sounds like a total soaper, and I don't usually watch those, but I will tune in for Luke. http://www.smh.com.au/entertainment/tv-and-radio/home-and-away-actor-luke-mitchell-signs-on-to-bigbudget-members-only-series-20140712-zt582.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
  18. I think so too, but BR is the wrong person for that. He's just like BDPaul from Orphan Black (don't know the actors real name) who they cast to play Laurel's ADA boss/marginal love interest. They're both good-looking, but bland and forgettable actors.
  19. It seems to me that they lucked out having Flash ready to cash in on the popularity of Quicksilver. Now, they're preemptively introducing their own shrinking character in anticipation of Marvel's Ant Man. The problem is, they don't have the money for the kind of special effects to make it look good. No giant dixie cups, no big ass paperclips, no cgi of Oliver nearly stomping on Ray, and saying, "Sorry dude, I thought you were a bug". So, either they're going to do something cheap and crappy, or he'll be pre-Atom Ray Palmer. If that's the case, why? It would be an easter egg that 99% of the audience wouldn't get. Then there's Brandon Routh. He's already failed as one superhero, why cast him as another? Are they planning to spin him off in his own show? I don't think that'll work if people hate his freakin' guts for cock-blocking Olicity. BR is a bland actor, he lacks Grant Gustin's adorkable charm, which helped him overcome any Olicity based backlash. Besides, Barry was gone in two episodes, Ray will be around half season, or longer. This is going to be Shaw all over again. This season is starting to give off the distinct whiff of trainwreck. Laurel Blank Canarying it up, Shaw 2.0, Baby Daddy Ollie, Devon Aoki as Katana (did she learn how to act since Sin City?), the inevitable Ollie/Waller hook up, the Ollie/Katana hook up, the Ollie/Baby Mama hook up, the looming possibility of another Ollie/Laurel hook up since she's a superhero too now (and as such will be the only one who truly understands him. In her bones), and on and on. I'm going to bed.
  20. I've never seen Supernatural, but is it possible that the show was just better written than Arrow? And, that Ruby was just a more compelling character than Laurel? I've seen plenty of actors who are decent enough when they get good material, but fall to pieces when the script is weak. I think that might be KC's problem. She can't rise above bad material.
  21. It was ok. I feel like they got the look and the feel of Constantine right, but the writing was pretty pedestrian. The angel and the demons felt like the same schtick I've been watching since good old BtVS, This genre is tired, and needs to be reinvigorated with fresh new ideas. This show is not going to be the one to do it. It was nice to see Lucy Grifftths again, though.
  22. First, the Flash pilot gets leaked just in time to cash in on the popularity of the X-Men's speedster, Quicksilver. It gets mostly rave reviews across the net, generating excitement for the fall season. Then, Constantine gets leaked less then a week later. I'm sure it's all just a coincidence. Because doing it on purpose to create buzz for these new comic book shows in the summer (when Comic Book movies reign supreme) would be wrong. And, Gotham is released in 3..2..1..
  23. I seem to be in the minority, because I loved it. That's not to say it didn't have any problems, but the core players, Grant Gustin, Candace Patton, and Jesse L Martin are wonderful. GG's Barry is sweet, smart, and good-hearted. Unlike Oliver Queen, Barry doesn't begin his journey looking for vengence; justice yes, but he's not going to be leaving behind a trail of bodies. This allows the show to have a lighter tone, and more overt humor. The dramatic parts are just as effective. The scene when Barry visits his father in prison brought a tear to my eye, and when the Flash had his final confrontation with the villian, it gave me all kinds of DC feels. Grant Gustin does, IMHO, have the charisma, and the talent, to lead a series. The CW, which sometimes casts pretty blocks of wood in their lead roles, is lucky to have him. The only real stumbling is Iris; not the character or the actress; Candace Patton is really good here, and she has great chemistry with GG, but the decision to keep her out of the loop in regards to Barry's powers, looks like a trainwreck waiting to happen. Not knowing keeps her out of the main story, and leaves her on the sidelines as someone Barry pines over and rescues from the metahuman freaks of the week. That's Lana Lang territory, and nobody wants that. Iris shouldn't be an object for Barry to win, who's thoughts and actions' only value is whether they move her closer or farther away from his arms. She should be a fully realized character, with a journey of her own, and their eventual love story should be about two people who see each other as they really are, and recognize they make each other happy. That's going to be difficult to do with Iris wandering around oblivious, while occasionally being kidnapped and dating bad guys. Also, there's the "Felicity Syndrome": Iris is off on the side, doing her own thing, while another woman is on Team Flash, working closely with Barry. What could go wrong? I don't think DP has more chemistry with Grant then CP, but it's early days yet. I don't think it's a good idea to tempt fate. Finally, the metahuman freak of the week premise could go either way. If every week some crazy shows up with powers and falls in love with/kidnaps Iris, that would be bad. However, if it's used to world build, introducing DC characters as allies and enemies, it could be wonderful. Who knows who we could get out of it? When I saw that empty cage marked "Grodd", I very nearly screamed. There's so much potential here, they just need to handle it riight
  24. Tatiana Maslany played at least 4 different characters in every episode this season. Each character was so distinct, that I often found myself forgeting that they were all the same actress. The fact that she wasn't nominated last year, completely invalidates the emmys as an awards show that I should take seriously. To bring this back on topic, Arrow isn't good enough to get nominated for anything besides it's stunts. There is some good acting, Susannah Thompson particularly, but no one gets the kind of material that will catch the attention of the emmys. The writers let the actors down.
