A Case Of The Mondays: Vent Your Work Spleen Here
MargeGunderson replied to potatoradio's topic in Everything Else
I block off huge chunks of my calendar so I can get work done. I’m flexible as needed, but have pretty good boundaries. It’s the nature of my work, lots of preparing slide decks and communications, or doing research, so I need blocks of time to really focus. I do tell people what days I can fit them in (some days I really can’t), even if my schedule is full. -

I used the Lucky Champ litter pan for my elderly ladies. My arthritic cat could walk right in.

@Scarlett45, congratulations!

Farrah doesn’t seem to have sense of humor at all, so I don’t see this going well. Although maybe that’s the joke, and Farrah just isn’t in on it.

The Duggalos: Jinger and the Holy Goalie

I think the girls in particular are raised to share their husbands interests, because he is the headship and they are to follow him. Oh, they can care about babies too, but should never forget that their spouse is more important than their children. When do they have any time to have their own interests? They are either children living under their parents roof and doing what their parents say, or married and then need to do what their husband tells them to do while also raising the kids. -
@Mindthinkr, one of my cats had laser therapy for her arthritis. Unfortunately it didn’t work for her, but it might be an option. She was also on buprenorphine at one point, which did help her chronic pain.

Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"
MargeGunderson replied to Betweenyouandme's topic in Everything Else
I’m going to add to the clothing related pet peeves. Mine: few options for jeans that aren’t high rise. Everything is high rise or super high rise. I am short-waisted, so high rise jeans basically come up to my boobs. I hate them so much, but almost everything is high-rise these days. -
We are a week in to less food for our cats, recommended by our vet as Sophie has a little tummy. Sophie does not care. She still wants her nighttime treats, but I tell her no and she’s fine. Parker, on the other hand, is STARVING. Today she dramatically threw herself on the floor in front of her empty bowls, crying loudly. I didn’t know that a cat could be hangry, but that’s absolutely the tone of her meow.

Poor baby man! He does look less happy than usual in his cone of shame. I hope he heals quickly. I use Bumble and bumble’s Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Heat & UV Protective Primer and Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Dry Oil Finishing Spray. I like both products.

Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"

Thanks for sharing that info @theredhead77. Honestly, I find all of this so confusing. I have just started working with a financial advisor and there is so much to think about. My friend has been working with this person for years so I feel pretty comfortable with him (she and I have similar views on money and are fairly conservative). It’s scary to entrust someone else with managing my money, but I don’t have the expertise to do it myself. He did recommend some resources for me to learn more, so I have some homework to do. -
I’m a few weeks overdue coloring my hair, and boy does it show! I dye it red, so it’s high maintenance. Fortunately I have an appointment on Saturday. I stopped wearing makeup regularly during the pandemic, and with working from home most of the time, I only occasionally wear it now. I really upped my skincare game, so it looks pretty good most of the time. I’m pale, so I sometimes add a couple of bronzer drops to my moisturizer. Recently I had my once-a-year giant zit on my chin - seriously, that thing was the size of a quarter and was painful! It’s under control now, but the area is still red and a bit dry from all of the zit patches I used (Zit Sticka Killa are the best). I have a facial scheduled next week and hope my esthetician can help.

All this talk about cats and water has made me realize that I never see my cats drink. Eat, sure, throw food in the water bowl, yep, knock it over, check. But actually drink? Nope. Now I want to set up a little camera to catch them in the act.

Not just you. Those look terrible.

But I was looking forward to the mock tapioca! -
I was wondering why only one member of the department got the waffle party, but then it was clear. How in the world is that supposed to be a reward? Cold waffles, creepy dancers, and you know it wasn’t real maple syrup.

I don’t like the Beatles. Please don’t throw things at me. My related peeve is people that insist that I must like some Beatles song. Nope. -
Glad to hear Elizabeth seems to be more perky today!

If only Parker would fume in silence. She is vocal about anything that displeases her. Every day is Festivus for Parker.

Speaking of chonk…..Sophie just came back from her annual check up and she is a bit plump. I’m surprised, because she is very active and athletic. We have to cut back on the dry food (and no more treats before bed). I don’t think Sophie will mind, but Parker is going to be so mad.

An end to the saga of the instant message/email peeve of earlier this week - and, it raised 2 more pet peeves! I received the email this morning and it asked me to change a company policy for that person and their colleagues - no who to talk to in IT about a couple of email problems - email the help desk I’m sure my answers aren’t satisfying to the person who asked, but I did get satisfaction out of my answers. -

Cavendish has good taste, and Lady Reese looks so soft and silky. Do you get to pet her fluffy tummy, or is it off limits?
