  1. Yeah Charles is hot and all that, but he's still a living demonstration of sexual harassment in the workplace. It doesn't make a difference that we know she's 41, but in his mind, she's a subordinate employee who is 20 years younger than he is. It's astoundingly inappropriate for him to kiss her (and accept her kiss). He knows that too because he's been hiding his interest from everyone but her. No wonder Radha saw the red flags flying and left. If Liza married him, no matter how many interests they shared, she would do well to beware the next perky, bright assistant to come along. If he was seriously interested, he should have let her continue in retail and date her from there. As for Josh, I do feel sorry for him. He's been doing the best he can to be there for her. (Have his roommates moved out?) He's gotten to know her friends and seems to be friends with them even when she's not around (he showed Kelsey the ring, he hung out with Maggie, he's even friends with Caitlin). He's kept her secret and communicates his feelings and his wants with her clearly and articulately. She hasn't returned this in any way.
  2. I like yellow, I really do, but Erin's cadmium yellow is not that fresh or original. I keep thinking of Tom and Lorenzo's wrap up of color on the runway this past year and remember this.
  3. THANK you! I thought I was the only one who saw that. (Mind you, still more passionate and effective than the previous DA...)
  4. Just watched this episode and, as far as I remember, Stein had already ordered a pizza and was waiting impatiently for it to arrive. Barry intercepted the pizza delivery and brought it himself. I accept that he tipped the delivery person before he took the pizza from the car. (I also assume that Stein paid by credit card when he ordered the pizza on the phone.)
  5. If the IRS has a lien on the house, are they actually allowed to sell it?
  6. I loved seeing HK and Kowloon (though it was a little disconcerting the way they flitted seamlessly from one side of the harbor to the other...) I didn't realize the LI was Constance Wu - nice to see her in a different role. I feel sorry for any woman trying to look like Hank's constant head bobbing is attractive. Has it been getting worse or am is it because I'm seeing him as a bobblehead figurine now?
  7. Talking about vengeance for the death of parents, Tony was previously upset at the fact that Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch blamed him for the death of their parents (via the bomb with his name on) and were ready to kill him by any means necessary. Bucky is basically a (metal) armed weapon controlled by other people. Even if he remembers every kill, he has as much responsibility for the kill as a bomb would. If he had taken the time to consider this, he would have been a little more forgiving. Team Cap here, but I was impressed that Cap demonstrated that he is one of the few grown-ups on the Avengers roster. He is accountable for his actions, he accepts the consequences, and he is quick to apologize and make amends.
  8. Of course, you have to remember that the show now includes a dome and people living "under the dome." According to what I have seen on TV, even if you fire the mother of all bombs near or in the same story as a dome, it only darkens a small area and is forgotten and dealt with in a few days. [end reference to unscientific show]
  9. Frankie's situation is too close to my own not to make me cry. I really felt for her having to officiate the marriage of her ex-husband/best friend to his new husband. Even if the sex was closure to the marriage, it was only a day ago.
  10. I found Robert spoiled and entitled in season one and have seen very little to change my mind in season two.
  11. Jane the Virgin? She was in about 4 episodes.
  12. But is there a methane lake there? (I will admit, seeing the Dome made me laugh out loud.)
  13. I don't care for either of the chefs in the finale -- I would have been more interested in Marjorie vs Isaac -- so I think I get my Thursday nights back.
  14. So is Mrs. Hughes retiring with her husband? I hope not -- she's the number 2 in the household with equivalent responsibility. The Crawleys would have to replace her too.
  15. Did Laurel's apartment suddenly get much bigger? It looked as if there was a whole other wing. It was a one bedroom, right? I assumed that Thea was sleeping on the couch (don't know where MM was staying) but then, we saw Thea in a bed. Was that Laurel's bed or did she suddenly have two bedrooms?
  16. Yes, the closed captioning did refer to it as Star Wars Bible Verse club -- I was surprised too.
  17. According to the Downton Abbey wikia, Edith was born in 1892 and would have been between 19 and 20. She was still innocent (though out) and probably both romantic and prudish.
  18. But wasn't Edith about 17 when she wrote to the Turkish embassy? My ideas about sex have changed dramatically over the years -- wouldn't you expect that with Edith?
  19. Do walkers get much sharper teeth when they come back to life? I doubt I could break the skin on my own arm with my front teeth, let alone rip into a GS's belly parts.
  20. I was quite willing to have lots of sympathy for Jack until I realized that he was dangling Concetta on a string himself. That would have been a decent relationship for him -- she obviously adored him and he was likely to get more satisfaction than the months and years of endless teasing that Phryne offered. (Maybe because it reminds me of a long-term, long-distance relationship that consisted of hints and flirtatious innuendo and never came to anything, but it was frustrating to me.) In the early seasons, it seemed as if he was confident in being able to hold his own beside her man of the night -- but in the later seasons (like this), it seemed as if his confidence was waning. How long was it over the three seasons? Was it all in 1929? Flying from Australia to England would have been doable -- there would obviously be the need for frequent stops for refueling etc but it would take about 2-3 weeks rather than the 2-4 months the boat would have taken (especially pre-Suez Canal). ETA: Phryne was definitely a trailblazer... From Wikipedia: [Amy] Johnson achieved worldwide recognition when, in 1930, she became the first woman pilot, or in the language of the time, "aviatrix", to fly solo from England to Australia. Flying G-AAAH, a Gipsy Moth which was the first of her aircraft named "Jason", she left Croydon, south of London, on 5 May of that year and landed in Darwin, Northern Territory, on 24 May after flying 11,000 miles (18,000 km). Her aircraft for this flight can still be seen in the Science Museum in London. She received the Harmon Trophy as well as a CBE in recognition of this achievement, and was also honoured with the No. 1 civil pilot's licence under Australia's 1921 Air Navigation Regulations.[6][N 2]
  21. It was clear to me that baking was done on two separate days (as in the British version).
  22. Yes, there are more male winged ants than princesses but they tend to be smaller and lighter. See the comparative sizes here -- Ant-hony looked much more like the princess (the big one) in terms of size.
  23. Just watched Ant-man which I enjoyed (Paul Rudd has enormous ears!) but it's always the same old thing: hive insects (including ants) are almost all female, except for a few drones. They are not "guys" or "boys" and if you're going to ride a winged princess, don't call her Ant-hony
  24. When Joe started at nursery school, Andy had already moved on from being his "manny". He's been working for Phil for some time now (and thus got the jacket in honor of his sales).
