  1. Rupert convinced Bex to buy the Milk sisters’ shares so that he could sit in the owner’s box. (Bex made the comment that she thought she would pay off her student loans first, but Rupert convinced her otherwise.). He wasn’t allowed to do so after Ted won at darts. Bex and he then gave those shares to Rebecca after her father’s death, saying the birth of their daughter left them no time for football. He then bought West Ham.
  2. Yes, there was. The complaint was that the women were asked about her outfit and maybe what she did that day to get ready while the men were asked questions about the movie and societal themes. It seems like the compromise is to ask the men the stupid questions, too.
  3. Here are some of my guesses: The team does well. It doesn’t have to win the whole thing, but it does really well. Ted wins coach of the year and Rebecca wins owner of the year (if they have those types of awards). Ted goes back to the US, leaving Roy as head coach with Beard remaining in the UK as his #2. I wouldn’t mind if Bex gets West Ham in her inevitable split with Rupert.
  4. Supposedly he saw her and a male companion in a restaurant in Europe after the murder, went up to say something to her, and she responded with the slur. I don’t know what he said to her or whether they ever met before or after that one time. It just seems like such a singular moment in their lives to be the genesis of both their ruins. I was hoping to find out if there was more to their relationship than that, but I guess not.
  5. I am so happy to have this back on my schedule!! Random Thoughts: We spent some time telling Nate to get off our screen. It may have gotten loud. Isaac needs to tackle Jamie now and give him a haircut. Keeley and Roy should not have broken up. Nope. In the opening scene, didn’t the phone show that the text message came from “Michelle Lasso”? Nice fake-out that it wasn’t Ted’s phone, but Henry would have her contact in his phone as Mom. Please for the love of God will someone please teach Ted that it is okay to walk away from toxic relationships?!? When Henry wanted Nate’s Lego character moved, I so wanted Ted to take the opportunity to explain boundaries and loving yourself enough to disengage from people who hurt you. At this point I don’t want Nate back with Richmond because I don’t like the implication that if you just take their abuse long enough they will eventually apologize. I wish Nate hadn’t known how to drive the fancy new car.
  6. I wasn’t clear why it was in an old almanac. Do they really have space in those for this kind of information?
  7. I just finished Deliberate Cruelty, the story of Ann Woodward’s trial and Truman Capote’s time as a darling of high society. It was well-written, no revelations but kept my interest. I was frustrated, though, that the author did not really explain why Truman hated Ann so much that she was the main character in his diatribe against New York society. I’m not a Truman Capote fan, but I am fascinated by this time period. It made me want to reread (or at least skim portions of) Swans of Fifth Avenue. Now I’m starting Lost Coast Literary. A young woman inherits her estranged grandmother’s estate with the stipulation that she must edit the “forsaken novels.” Fun, light read thus far.
  8. I remember that. I also remember Ron Howard being asked about the awards season in an interview, and he said he practiced his losing face and made them say a different name so he could show exactly what losing graciously looks like. Apparently it’s not mandatory.
  9. Doesn’t Eliot keep saying that they can’t change the past? I hope that means their being there can’t cause the accident. Time travel rules make my head hurt.
  10. Ah, that makes sense. I am never good with time travel plots, though so far I’ve managed to follow this one.
  11. I think Byron is way too old to be Jacob.
  12. Eliot is awesome. His “What” stole the show.
  13. When I saw the first post of just MICHELLE I thought it was Williams and was disappointed. I haven’t seen Fabelmans, but I always know when she has an Oscar-seeking movie out because I get an uptick of “fragile Michelle Williams” stories in my feed. Did you know her ex boyfriend died? Every single time. I didn’t see EEAAO, but my son did and loved it. He is thrilled with their wins, including JLC.
  14. If I heard her correctly, Morgan had broken up with Paul and was just there because he told her all their other friends were going to be there. I’m sure she cringes every time she sees herself referred to as his girlfriend. I, too, was impressed by how they came across in the documentary.
  15. Good point. Wouldn’t that mean Alice wouldn’t exist?
  16. Thanks for introducing me to this podcast. I’ve gone back to the beginning, and it’s impressive what information she had from the outset.
  17. I started listening to her interview with the prosecutor and found it interesting. Has anyone done a deep dive into the family? Husband and I were trying to decide if the early Murdaugh solicitors were good people with the corruption seeping in over time, or would we discover Klansmen.
  18. That was a car accident with a grave so I assume they have a body and he’s really dead.
  19. I love that Jane and Daniel are friends now. I hate the fighting exes trope, and I think they’ve done a good job moving these two past that. I liked the episode, though the dad was getting on my nerves. I get that he was scared of the Koa brothers, but still. I appreciate the names of the characters; they seem authentic to the island. I agree that they do a good job showing Hawaiian culture.
  20. Why wasn’t Brady with Kat on New Years Eve?
  21. I wondered if Alice would tell Colton that Kat thinks they blame her for Jacob’s disappearance. Elliott continues to be a delight. Del continues to leave me half-annoyed/half-compassionate towards her. Are we close to a season finale? Husband will not survive a cliffhanger.
  22. I just finished the second episode and need a cleansing breath before I can finish the documentary. My theory as to why is that Alex’s life is unraveling. He blames Paul for it. The lawsuit regarding the boat crash is causing the discovery of his financials, and he blames Paul for the house of cards falling. I also wonder at the rumors that Maggie hired a forensic accountant and possibly visited a divorce attorney. That might be his motive for her, or maybe she said something after seeing Paul dead and he didn’t think she would stay silent. My guesses so far.
  23. I don’t know if this is unpopular, but it needs to be said: Richard Harris was ten times the Dumbledore that the other actor was.
