  1. Well, she did call it American. I think something got lost in translation. (There on the bourbon—and chocolate!—but whiskey?) I love pie., if it’s homemade or made by someone who knows what they’re doing. Supermarket pies are a hard pass, always too much sugar and often hydrogenated oils. The flavors of some of these pies sounded so good.
  2. A preview in the Washington Posr May have broad spoilers, so your call. Gift article.
  3. Thanks for the heads up, LizDC. Looks like I’ll be tuning into the finale and hoping Evan and Keith take it all. 😀
  4. FWIW, here’s a Michael and Bryan recipe for Green Bean Casserole. Not Betty Crocker.
  5. Late to the Iceland party. Yikes. So did the Euro-starved wife chose Iceland for the airfares to Europe? I just checked for flights in Nov. from where they are to Barcelona for grins. Nothing available. In their first few months, they went to six countries? Sure. I felt badly for the middle son, the one who locked himself in his room and refused to go. And they were moving to ICELAND for diversity? Where in Michigan did they live? (Rhetorical question, I can imagine.)
  6. Chicago couple expecting a baby and looking for their first house were so nice. Played to having different tastes, but no snarking on the other. I liked the place they bought, but a third floor walk-up with a newborn? Ugh. Good luck! Or more likely, get Instacart Plus, a spot downstairs to park the stroller and an excellent baby backpack.
  7. Also, there’s the likability factor—hard to define, but like the judge said, you know it when you see it. I never saw it in Mina or Karen.
  8. He was jealous of her love scenes with Marty Short? 🤔🙄 Usually happens when one finds someone else. Sad, 45 years!
  9. Nice at the end when the son reverted to being a normal kid and had his friends over to plot out how to refinish that basement for maximum teen enjoyment.
  10. No joke. He lost me when he said the kitchen just flows. Sounded so natural!
  11. Excuse me, rerun of the Canadian singer —> English teacher in Thailand. I’m #TeamBanjo. The guy creeped me out a little. Just me? ha, when I saw the Vitamix at the hostel I thought, wow, the landlord really stocked the kitchen! LOL, no I didn’t—dead giveaway he was living there.. 😂😂😂
  12. I’m with your mom. I liked the skandi house, and all the furniture—but that kitchen backsplash would be a p.I.t.a. to keep clean.
  13. She’s a wonderful writer. I was excited she was getting involved with an enterprise that needed updating. Badly. It’s not translating well to the magazine, either. Not renewing—and I get a ridiculous deal.
  14. Resident and the hopeful future Mrs. Doctor? That’s all I got. Other than that #1 place’s story had more holes than a lace curtain. The ED at the Hyde Park hospital is a trauma center, so he’ll be beyond busy. Tacking on 90–120 RT daily commute? 🤥 Trying to sleep night or day with renters above and below your bedroom? 🥱🥱😵😵‍💫🤡 Never mind leaving your anxious work-@-home girlfriend with tenants and rotating ab&b renters to deal with? Shut it. South Loop with nice office and amenities. Uh-huh. No kidding.
  15. It’s been downhill since the opening. Wired sketch 🤮 Not sure it’s worth sticking around for the news. At this rate that’ll suck, too.
  16. Keith is more successful than Evan on the teleprompter. I don’t recall the first couple, but traveling nurses became a huge deal in 2020, so likely the guys got their own repackaged show.
  17. I believed, in this case, Adam’s thoughts were political. For the city, anyway.
  18. Yep, by a Scottish lass not remotely interested in Australia. Or as Andrew saiys now, an Aussie wife is the dream. 🫡
  19. Not much of a fan, but I’m looking forward to the rest, some more than others. Dr. Gates and his crew do great work, so worthwhile.
  20. Andrew wiped his feet on the mat before entering #2. So not raised by wolves. Straightforward selection—the rustic place was made for him. And his new dog! Would very much like to check back with him. Realtor was a hoot, and right on the money about his parking skillz and craptastic driving.
  21. Yes. I saw it again last night and thought how well it was done. It’s Adam who gets up and walks over to Ben. But it’s Ben who reaches out and touches Adam. Never liked another DA as well until Jack finally, against so many remarks to the contrary over the years, became DA.
  22. Not quite understanding the two-story purchase with their story of upcoming spinal surgery. There may be more or less to the story—but they seemed happy and hope they stay that way. House hunting in an (expensive) undershirt, David?
  23. I’m wondering if his family is funding some of this. So he’d have the kind of place he just had to have. That’s Prince Punk.
  24. It’s the good parts of LoLI (Hilary’s redo) without the faux drama. Also, she doesn’t pretend to do all the design work herself. The conflict, if any, comes from homeowners having trouble purging or asking for some extra thing, but it’s usually low key. I’m pretty sure Hilary built an attractive shed in one backyard to stash the stuff the owner couldn’t part with. Not “outdoor stuff.” LOL.
