  1. You'd think that maybe the producers wouldn't encourage that/get involved in it. But what do they care, I guess. That's entertainment. I'm usually glad when the million dollar ticket winners set a budget of $200K to $300K, although it frequently results in David showing homes that HHs would barf at (small rooms, builder-grade finishes--nothing wrong with any of it, just not, you know, millionaire stuff--but don't get me started on that conceit again;-)
  2. Nice job with the former president's home! Those floors were magnificent. We never saw the primary bedroom or bath, as the budget didn't stretch that far. Also, the dining room isn't exactly suited to just the two of them--or the addition of a high chair. But I guess that's the price of living rent-free. Loved the porches, too, and mo' shade will be helpful. On that note, I didn't catch if there was AC. Having the design/woodworking college named for them is quite the honor. Very moving, as if someone started chopping onions in here. Of course, I'd also just learned the Lions won. My late Dad had season tickets for (losing) years so that felt like a big deal, too. (I couldn't watch, afraid I'd jinx them;-)
  3. Thank you for the 90 minutes. It was recorded and can now be deleted.
  4. Because it didn’t work—someone forgot the candy boxes they were supposed to fill up. So they thought it was as stupid as I did, or anyone else who knew how it was supposed to work. 😡
  5. So the Beef creator said he does it all for his three dogs and urged the FDA to fast-track canine anti-aging pills. If that’s his next show, I’d watch that.
  6. Heh, did Calista tell Harrison, we’re out of here?!
  7. They may wish it, too. Likely though that the good deal big house wasn’t on the market when they had to hurriedly find a house (if that part was true;-)
  8. LOL! Definitely made a big deal of #3. But like Grizzly pointed out, one bathroom?! Bedrooms not in the house? Smaller footage? They said up front that they needed room for everyone and #1 was the biggest space, best arrangement, awesome view and 2 bathrooms . 😂
  9. Adrian in Paris and on the Riviera (touting her properties in the Marais, look it up). Richard in London and environs (I got used to that beard!). Kevin in Berlin (he's a cutie). The tall guy with the white hair (can't recall his name or where he is, but I like him). Floor in Amsterdam (she will jump into a canal, which gets her listed). And your favorite realtor--this is the place to dish on their style, snark and massive self-control to not go off full tilt on some of these house hunters.
  10. LOL, looks like I'm the only one watching this show and I don't even like it. Although, my hate watch is softening to a WTH watch. So tonight Jasmine "flips" the show's conceit--they didn't wreck their house as much as, allegedly, their house is going to wreck them (their relationship). This 40-something (maybe) year-old couple with 6 kids (there look to be twins in there). They currently share their bedroom with a toddler and an infant. The older daughter has her own room and the other boys are jammed into one room. They have $300,000 (!) for the reno, but when Jas asks why they don't use that as a downpayment on a new house, aha, the house belonged to his (her?) grandmother and they want to keep it in the family. So Jas and her crew decide to convert the large garage into an ADU (for permits--they'll need to put in a sink, as in a kitchenette, so she turns that into a laundry room). The family bought an RV and takes off for the 12 (15, in the end) weeks needed. Yes, of course that didn't last long and they said they were in a rental. Although, maybe I heard they were at a parent's. So weird. Jas takes out a load-bearing wall, puts in a 24' beam, new windows, redoes the fireplace, living room and puts in a ton of storage, a built-in banquet, an island, new kitchen, then goes out to the garage and puts in the laundry room/office for him (a shelf with a pull-out chair that looks like drawers from the back), and a giant fancy bathroom/wet room, walk-in closet and large bedroom. That musta been a very large garage. NO KIDS ALLOWED. So that left three original bedrooms, which are not seen again, and here's hoping there's a 2/2/2 set up with, I think, one bathroom. Good luck, kids! Your parents thought they could spend 12 weeks in an RV with you. And vice versa. Oh yeah, Jas said early on that maybe one of the kids would get the house. The parents said they wanted to leave the house to the kids. No need to cut 40 years into the future to see that get settled.
  11. Heh, when I saw all that furniture, I thought, that's their furniture, isn't it?
  12. Hey, now that we're a forum, would anyone be up for a thread about our favorite realtors? (Sorry, mod, I've never started anything official here, so just shy.)
  13. Random thoughts Season 2 of The Bear blew season 1 out of the water, imo—for those who couldn’t get into S1. Host sucked. Absolutely. SM people wanted Kerry and Ray to host next year. I want Andra and Jon! Also, congrats to Succession and all its winners. RDJ delivers the best acceptance speeches. Kevin Costner thought using Tom Cruise’s plastic surgeon was a good idea. He was wrong. Even Harrison Ford showed up. Hmm.
  14. I'd hate that, too. Go figure it'd be first thing in the morning or late at night. And I didn't think she was as upset about the carpeting as Richard was. LOL.
  15. Richard and the Canadian set designer in Chiswick, where she obviously landed. Other than Natural Light, I was glad she wasn’t going off about English charm. Or wanting a second bedroom for guests. Hope she has a great time in London.
  16. Those were the days! Ina posted the table she set for NYE in Paris on IG. That's what I'd be doing. I don't know if Jeffrey's cut back on his Yale time, but it seems as though any projects that took up a great deal of her time are on the back burner at the moment.
  17. Hard pass. For any number of reasons, including but not limited to: Florida, the marshes of Florida, the more hurricanes side of Florida. I usually check out at least one of the many multiple airings of any Dream House episode, but I haven't been crazy about what the current designers have done. Generic HGTV. Maybe it'd be better if they gave a house and big budget to Nate and Jeremiah, the Bargain Block boys, and, I dunno, Hilary? Better for me, anyway. But not if it's in a swamp in Florida.
  18. Bingo. I want charm--why is this kitchen so small, WTF this refrigerator, no closets?!, kinda cramped, I dunno, it's not like our big-ass house in Texas. HHs sound so stupid and Show not much better. Can they express the concern between wanting a home that's traditional to the new country vs. all the comforts of an American-style home? Sure, if you insist. But that gives it a context that doesn't make us throw up in our mouths a little in half the episodes. Also, think about a series with Adrian, Richard and Kevin (new eps, not repackaged reruns, thanks). I'd pay to watch the three of them chatting together about HHs, too.
  19. On this show, the celebrity’s pal appears to LOVE the remodel. In some cases, they are better actors than others.
  20. Hoping David has not added additional tattoos. Sorry, they’re too much for me, as is. I don’t get it. I try not to grimace when I see “sleeves.” Besides the pain part, and whatever’s in those inks that seep into your system, good luck when either weight changes or gravity kicks in. As it does. People call on David’s services on this show to get on TV. I’m not sure what I’d think about his taste in homes if I just met him at a realtor’s office, sans celebrity. Unless irl, he’d frequently buy lunch and hunt out neighborhood gossip. Then, at least it’d be fun. I guess.
  21. You know what else I missed seeing? Carolyn Kennedy talking about her father’s love for and support of the arts. Pablo Cassels at the White House. Look it up. Maybe she was busy in Australia? But I’d hate to think the producer’s said, no thanks, Gloria Estefan and sexy dancers are opening the show.
  22. Beachy! Coastal! I’m having flashbacks to Christina. And that’s not good.
  23. Did you know that Tim was a creative? He was blessed with a good friend in that realtor, and I wonder if irl, he’d helped Tim find that house. It suited him. And, I suppose, Carlito, although the less said about that, the better. I’m torn between hoping there’s a therapist or referral among Tim’s friends/family and just shutting TFU. Tim and Carlito got a great house, great neighborhood, he makes a living and seems happy and content.
