  1. I'm curious as to who's going to officiate at their wedding. Sara officiated at Ray and Nora's wedding because she is the Captain of the Waverider. But who officiates when the Captain herself gets married?
  2. This isn't a true doppelgänger situation, however. As you yourself said, Earth-Prime Lois isn't Natalie's mother, and the daughter that she would have had with Clark but for the miscarriage would have been a different girl altogether. So Natalie Irons isn't anyone's doppelgänger. She's a young woman who was born to the Lois Lane and the John Henry Irons of another Earth in another universe. So she's not going anywhere.
  3. Imagine what she could make just from writing Superman's biography (except for the secret-identity thing)!
  4. For them, or for the town for going all Kristallnacht on them?
  5. And here is your Strictly Class of 2021: The only one I know is Adam Peaty thanks to the Olympics, so I'll be cheering for him this series!
  6. I've been saying all season long that the boys need to meet their first cousin once removed Kara and her adoptive sister Alex Danvers. Kara knows what it's like to have to learn to control and use her powers, so she'd be a fantastic mentor for Jordan, including his mental and emotional adjustments to having powers. And Alex knows what Jonathan is going through growing up in the shadow of super-beings and being relegated to a minor supporting role who mostly gets ignored and forced to put so many of his own needs and desires on hold. She could actually teach the boys a lot about how to have a healthy, supportive sibling relationship while still keeping themselves and their family safe.
  7. THIS. Especially where Kara, Jimmy, and Lucy are concerned. And for that matter, why has there been no mention of Lois's mother, Ella Lane? Are we meant to infer that Sam raised Lois (and Lucy) as a single parent? Plus, Kal has other living relatives besides Kara and Edge. He also has his Uncle Zor-El and his Aunt Alura, as well as the entire population of Argo City. And while I could do without seeing Lex Luthor for a good long while (like everyone else, I kind of got burned out on him on Supergirl), I wouldn't mind seeing Lena and J'onn Jonzz pop up every now and then!
  8. The story I told actually dates all the way back to the Golden Age when Superman first appeared, although the precise cause of his powers hadn't yet been established beyond the fact that Kryptonians were naturally stronger, faster, and more intellectually advanced than humans.
  9. Nice try, China. But that means that WE get to claim Puerto Rico's Gold medal, plus anything won by the US Virgin Islands, Guam, and American Samoa, since they're all technically part of the US, too!
  10. Well, that's certainly true. I grew up during the Silver Age, and the comics then made it clear that Clark had had full powers from the moment he landed on Earth. In fact, that's how the Kents were able to adopt him so fast - the orphanage where they had temporarily placed him was so overwhelmed by his powers that they rushed the adoption process through for the Kents so that THEY'D be the ones having to deal with "Superbaby"! All that changed after the 1986 post-Crisis reboot. That is when it was stated that Clark didn't start developing his powers until after puberty, which is why he was never Superboy in that timeline.
  11. What's even scarier is that they're his own people -- Kryptonians. Clark himself even admitted to Lois that it took everything he had not to give in to the temptation to let himself get turned permanently, and that scared the hell out of him. That's why he came around to agreeing with Sam about the need to keep those Kryptonite weapons on hand as the ultimate fail-safe against him or any other Kryptonian who completely turned.
  12. And it squares with what Clark said and with what we saw Kara go through when she first started her career as Supergirl. They had to pretty much train themselves in the use of their powers -- and there was a definite learning curve that had to be mastered!
  13. I wanted to mention the scene at the press conference where an angry mother confronted Lois directly and screamed at her that she had no understanding of what it was like to lose a child and to live with the guilt and the fear that maybe she could have said or done something different that might have saved him. I watched that powerful scene and wondered what flashbacks that must have triggered for Lois regarding the miscarriage that only she, Clark, the boys, and her therapist knew about. I could see Lois fighting back the tears as she took that woman's verbal assault, and I thought, "Bitch, I get that you're grieving and angry, but you have no idea what Lois herself has been through. She DOES know what it's like to lose a child and to carry that burden of pain and guilt. She's been carrying it for almost 13 years!"
  14. About the surfing? Yes. Since Paris itself could never have a suitable venue for surfing, that competition will be held in Tahiti in 2024. And you just know that Malibu will be handling that event for L.A. in 2028!
  15. That will be held in Tahiti, which is a French territory.
  16. Domo arigato gozaimasu, Nihon. Dewa nochi hodo! Thank you very much, Japan. See you soon (for the Paralympics starting August 24)!
  17. And Johnny, as usual, leaves me wondering where his home planet is located. Having said that, I'm here for Terry Gannon!
  18. I'm surprised they aren't adding petanque for Paris.
  19. Don't forget that the Paralympics are coming in just a couple of weeks, too!
  20. It's because he's one of the few athletes to break the stranglehold that the Chinese have had on this sport for decades. Once the Americans fail to medal, the attitude switches to "Anybody but China," so we adopt someone like Tom as an American surrogate. The same thing happened with Australia's Matthew Mitcham in 2008.
  21. And the men's 4x100 and an American woman in Cycling - Omnium also won gold. We have now just passed China for most gold medals as well as everyone else for most medals overall. WOOT indeed!
