  1. Kinda surprised to see that kind of backlast from you guys above. This is definitly the type of show I love. I enjoyed every single drop of that first episode, from the aesthetics to the narrative, encompassing the actors, the rythme, the sets, the dialogue... Definitly in for the long haul myself !
  2. That was beautiful. Cant really say more right now, I'm still overflood with emotions, but yes, they were here the emotions. Twelve... I let you go. Thirtheen, you'll be brilliant indeed.
  3. I dont understand why people diss Patience's father, he clearly is just a concerned parent trying to reach his daughter, in vain, completely lost. He's quite the tragic character imo more than anything else. And loved Kaia, she'll be a great WS ! But just please... please CW, dont give us dinosaurs, you dont have the budget to pull it off... even though I dont think it's dinosaurs, the big skull we saw didnt look very reptilian to me, so probably another kind of monster, but I'm damn sure whatever the design, the CW cant pull of something that massive with any credibility...
  4. Cas Anvar is such a wonderful actor ! Love him as Alex in The Expanse but that is a totally different role and he nails it perfectly ! Damn, that scene between his character, Dutch and Fet ! Such a performance !
  5. Damn, that was one of the best episode of the show ! Love me some Citadel ! And a huge bravo to Adult Swim, Justin and Dan for hiding the real plot of the episode till the very end ! :)
  6. "They just like severed heads, really." Euron, summing up the rotten people of KL in one very fine line.
  7. Rick taking back the stone at the end was the funniest / darkest part of the episode for me. Otherwise, a cool episode but it's only the beginning of the season ! :)
  8. From Felix's big speech, to Cosima's (happy) tearful breakdown, from Gracie's terrible dilemna to Helena's always so eerie and menacing presence and words, from Rachel's pain and choice to Ferdinand's end, from Kira meeting Charlotte to the seestras showing off for the gallery and finally to that beautiful, tragic and breakhearting ending, well that was an epic rollercoaster. The end of that story is shaping up to be magnificent.
  9. Really loved the episode ! I mean, Dark Matter has always been a guilty pleasure bordering on genuine great pleasure on some occasions, and I must say, the more time passes, the less it becomes guilty and the more it becomes genuine ! Loved the teasing of things to come, the Black Ships, the Accelerated, the fall of the Ishida House, etc... hope the series will run long enough to deliver it all ! And apparently, standard French of the future is Quebecois ! :D
  10. Not bad Mark, not bad at all really.
  11. Thankfully after a very disapointing (at least for me) Pyramid, well Lie was fantastic ! I dont care about the fake-out regen' , some might outcry that it's a Moffat trope (fakes, convulted plan...), but until the very last moment I was on edge ! Even the fact that the Doctor could have gotten out of the prison easily but prefered to remain quiet and "obedient" until Bill came back to him (although I wonder why it took so long for them to try and reach her out) doesnt bother me. What could actually, is the final resolution, but it makes sense. First Bill is their link, their anchor, so it kinda makes sense that she's more equiped to deal a massive blow to the Monks, and yeah, it's twisted, but she got them with a lie (the whole image she's made up of her mother is a lie, a beautiful one, but she has no idea what her mother would be like in the end), so a lie perverted the lies... convulted, sure, but makes sense... at least to me. And I got quite emotional at the line : "On 7 billion people, there's always someone like you. That's how I put up with the rest of them." Beautiful. The "epic" final resolution montage on Bill's mum with the Doctor's speech was truly clever but it didnt get me teary like that one simple line... but I guess that's the point actually, that montage wasnt so much about being emotional than being clever... or that's just my take on it. Oh, and the visuals of the episode were amazing, some great screencaps potential there, the direction, the cinematography (very dark, dystopian world with echoes of Turn Left sometimes), the coloring, the sound-mixing was on point ! My only regret would be the music... I love Twelve's theme, but I miss another recuring epic score like All the strange, strange, creatures. Damn, that music is so great, it gets me everytime, and I'd like for Murray Gold to use it more often (or adapt it), because I really miss it and it brings me everytimes to my early days of Doctor Who, and makes me revive the joy of discovering it for the first time... which makes me think, we all assume (I suppose) that Murray Gold will stay after Moffat, but has it been officially confirmed ? (and speaking of that, nice touch of This Is Gallifrey, there !)
  12. Now that I come to think of it, I'm bummed we didnt get to see Athan and Katarina interract more... SyFY released this deleted scene from episode 9 and even though I understand why it ended up on the cutting floor, I'm sad for it ! Two characters who deserve more scenes together !
  13. I've been truly enjoying this season so far ! Extremis and Thin Ice are remarkable episodes, Oxygen and the Pilot are really good too... But damn, Pyramid was a complete let down, borderline lame, everything was phony and predictable, it send zero shivers down my spine, it was cheesy and unecessary complicated, I dont recall a single memorable line and the plot was kinda poor, unoriginal and mostly easy. But I'm not ranting for the sake of ranting, I love Doctor Who and I will always do, but each season, there is a traditionally bad episode... I was hoping the meh Knock Knock would be it, but now, Pyramid has taken that slot for me.
  14. Night Two Done ! I love it so far ! Emily Hampshire is a tremendous actress (they all are, but damn, she shines !), the story, although convulted sometimes, makes sense, the plot is thrilling, the twists and turns pay off, the direction is great (some great visuals) and an increidible atmosphere that plunges me straight back in the show with no trouble at all ! The ambiance is so unique there is no mistaking what show I'm watching and I love it ! Episode 8 tonight ! ETA : oh, yeah, that scene with Jen and Athan : "but I believe someday you'll be the best of us all" (paraphrasing)... that send shivers down my spine ! A great moment between those two and opening a lot of interesting horizons ahead for Jennifer ! Cant wait to see that and hope to more encounters between the two Primaries !
  15. Okay, not reading anything yet cause I've just finished the first episode only, but damn, this season is shaping up to be beautiful ! Love this show ! Okay, now on to episode 2 ! And it was kinda hard to find the forum for the show, I had to go through Google to find it, couldnt do it searching on the site itself...
  16. Well, I loved that Moffat went full-on with the Ancestor Simulation theory ! I saw it coming a bit ahead but still found it really well executed (the main remaining question being then : when did reality and the simulation started to diverge ? And it was - in a very logic sense - answered). Sure, it may be a little bit convultous at times, but in the end, it's a fantastic idea, strongly penned by Moffat (imo), and full of great tidbits, performances, dialogue lines, visuals and musics ! And I guess we havent seen the last of Missy's flashbacks : we still do not know why the Doctor had to make that oath and I'm pretty sure the answer will come sooner or later, and I'm quite intrigued.
  17. I guess I'm the only one who loved Jasper arc this season. The whole nihilism, refusing to live anymore, may have been simplistic in some ways, but I really found that the actor's portrayal, some lines and most importantly some visuals (these skinny, desperate teens, with emptyness in their eyes, howling their abandonment at the red moon... yeah, I found it compelling myself). I'm gonna miss you Jasper !
  18. Well, as expected, that was a blast. Visualy and musicaly stunning, a real feast. The performances were top notch, the rythm was great, the script managing with eas to grasp us in the story... it's one of Gaiman's books I havent read, but I totally trust him to deliver a great story ! I'm totally in for the long run !
  19. Got confused by the whole "last humans", "earth evacuated" thing. Didnt Eleven said that the human race never stoped, spread everywhere through the galaxy (during (and thanks to) the Apollo affair (6x01-02) ? Ten said something similar in Utopia if I recall correctly, so I never pictured an almost-moment-of-extinction for the human race in the Doctor Who universe... Or maybe this refers to the last moments of earth that we saw all the way back in series 1 of Nu-Who but I wasnt under the impression that a sole ship flew away, rather a whole bunch of them, so the whole "last humans" vibe in this episode made me wince. Or maybe, this extinction event is part of the series arc, so we'll see (but I didnt feel like it did)... ... or maybe who cares, I'm just fixating over a useless detail, this is Doctor Who, screw timelines !
  20. What the fuck is the point of a navy in the middle of the desert ?
  21. Just passing by to state my eagerness for this third season ! This show is really entertaining and way smarter than it may seem at first glance ! That's it for me, see you guys this summer !
  22. Kinda frustrated they didnt go with the Parson's Farewell at full blow for the closing titles, as they teased it in the scenes at the tavern with Mary... ahem Mark Reade. This music is just amazing and would have made for awesome closing titles. And... that's my one and only complaint... it was everything I hoped it would be : giving a great sense of closure, a continuity with the whole narrative, epic moments, beautiful ones, some funny ones as well, bittersweet on some regards and still managing to drop a few twists and surprises on its way out. I'll miss this show but I sure as fuck watch it sail away with a smile on my face.
  23. Well, that was a magnificent surprise indeed ! Loved that the whole Citadel, counsel of Ricks and the Federation was at the center of the story, it kicked things off with a bang and so many questions ! So... no we have to wait a few more months ? Well, I guess it will be okay and this season is shaping up to be quite something !
  24. This is it... the end is coming... I am so ready and so not at the same time. Well, see you guys on the other side, once we'll have seen it !
