S04.E09: The Mitigation of Competition
Triskan replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Orphan Black [V]
Just a thought in passing : I'm all for a Rachel - Alison scene ! Truth be told, Alison is the Clone who's story has bothered me the most through the show (not that I dont like it, mind you, just that it has never been the one to entertain me the most, despite many awesome moments), but Alison (and Donnie) are still fascinating character and imo, Alison is (although in her way) the most crazy of them all. So I think a Rachel - Alison meeting could send sparks flying ! I agree with what someone said above, that Rachel brings a new/different energy to the dynamics of Clone Club and I want to see more of that ! Oh, and do anyone think we'll see Cal in the season finale ? I know he's busy following a Dothraki Horde, but I really missed him this season ! -

Well, that was intense... I mean... especially the Rachel's victory scene. She's always been one of the most fascinating characters to me and that triumph of her over Evie was glorious and chilling ! I really hope there is the traditional "put as many clones as you can in it" scene coming up next week and it will be the biggest one yet ! But sadly Cosima will likely not be able to attend (at least in person) and I'm not sure Rachel and Krystal would be in it... but still, it would be so amazing ! Oh, and the Helena Ex Machina of this week, eventhough totally exepected, was awesome as well ! Loved that her musical cue returned the moment the arrow pierced that guy's neck ! And some credits to Ari Millen here as well ! I still miss Rudy's madness but Ari's a truly awesome chameleon actor. Still... wishing for either the return of Mark (and Gracie) or the introduction of another Castor. But I wouldnt say no to another Castor involved in the plot,, I really think Ari Millen is an underused gem in the show ! -
Everytime I think the show cant pull the bar higher, they go beyond... What an episode ! Looking forward to that "Hyena" event Jen (O, Jen, how awesome you are !) mentionned... hehe, I guess we'll know next week ! Go Team Hyena !
-
Okay, I'm probably in the minority but one of the highlight (among many) of this episode was the Theon / Yara scene for me ! Great acting, solid dialogue (coherent with the characters), great dynamics, fun and sad at the same time ! Well done for that ! I can see why some might see it as superfluous but I really think it was a very strong scene !

So guys, I'm curious, which one would you prefer for Sam at the beginning of next season : 1 - Shot dead and sent into the Empty by Billie (c'moooon, we need to see the Empty after so much build-up) ? 2 - Injured, brought back, isolated, incarcerated and experimented on in London by the British chapter of the MoL ?
-
Personally I always thoughts MoL could be some of the best antagonist (remember that one guy in season 8, the one with the out of time and space magic bunker and the First Blade, he was a one episode deal but he remains for me one of the most threatening foe of the series), so I'm curious to see where things will go from here. Cant decide if that lady Toni shot Sam dead or just injured him to carry him back to London... both prospects are interesting. Either hello Empty and Billie (hey, after all, the Empty has been teased too much never to check on it !) either hello isolation cell and experiments (as someone said above)... dunno but in any case I think there is potential for interesting stuff with Sam at the beginning of next season.

This show man... this show ! Oh I love it ! The plot moved quite forward this week with, finally, the first appearance of the Witness (sort of) and a better explanation at how he/she (fuck it, let's say "it") sees the world and his plans for time. I hope Cassie will not permanently be "possessed" (or whataver) by the Witness... if she manages to escape his grasp, she could provide a helluva lot intel on him to the table... but she could as well now be utterly destroyed and it was the last we saw of her (though c'mon, nobody believes that for a second)... in any case, I'm quite sure the show will manage to surprise me again and I look forward to ! Next week cant come soon enough... happily, there's Orphan Black, Supernatural, Penny Dreadful and GoT to hold on till then... oh, and Wynonna Earp and Hunters who are shaping up to be quite the guilty pleasures the more the episodes unravel... but, anyway, going off road here... 12 Monkey's awesome ! EDIT to add : "Team Hyena" ! We need to see more of that one !
-
Woooow, that was brutal... and intense ! Not much to add to what has already been said above (and I need a few more time to digest the episode)... For a few seconds there, I thought it was Rachel behind the coup before putting pieces together... but I really love Rachel's character, she fascinates me. I hope to see her again soon and that she'll get to do more in the season !
-
Wow, so much negativity ! ^^ I totally admit the season was ups and downs and full of lazy writing moments, but it had its great ones as well, and I for one found the whole ALIE idea and story arc clever and interestingly written. I'll be back for next season ! It's sure as hell not one of my favourite shows, but it's still a damn good guilty pleasure !
-
I'm amazed at how many people would have preferred a Drogon's ex machina over that truly great scene where Dany regains power and confidence by herself, for herself !
-
Krystal definitly has to get the speech ! I was really hoping she was gonna get it all out of Donnie (well, by force, but still...), but I guess it will be for another time !

S04.E04: From Instinct to Rational Control
Triskan replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Orphan Black [V]
Haha, I love the slip from Ferdinand's actor on set, mixing Rachel with Alison ! Yeah, really telling about the character ! Alison is (at least in my eyes, sorry Rachel, no pun intended) way more fucked-up than Rachel ! ^^ Anyway, looking forward to tonight's episode ! -
I doubt anyone had ever truly seen the Witness actually. ^^ So, another question I had at the end... was that final scene with the Pallid Man before or after the paradox explosion ? Did he survive it or we just had a cameo from him before his death to explain his backstory ? Well, I guess time will tell.

As much as I love and trust the show, I hope they wont drag the 1944 plot to long... it can become very boring after a while if the show focus on James and Cassie interrogated by the FBI, unable to leave the year... But then, as I said, I trust the show to surprise me, and from reviews from the first 8 episodes I've read online (no spoilers), apparently things will keep on kicking at a damn fast pace, so, damn looking forward to next week !

S04.E04: From Instinct to Rational Control
Triskan replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Orphan Black [V]
Agree ! Cosima and Scott are an awesome dynamic ! I really wish we'd see more of them, but the day that happens will probably mean trouble has caught up to them, so I enjoy the time of (relative) peace and tranquility they have at the moment ! And speaking of dynamics, I really love Rachel's arc so far ! Her relationship with Charlotte fascinates me, and I'm also damn interested to see how she and Ira will evolve in times to come ! And since I'm talking about the Castor Boys, I really wish we'd meet one or two other this season ! I'm probably in the minority here, but I really like them. I love what Ari Millen can convey with his face and wish there were more of them raised outside of the Military to see more facets of his acting (though I wouldnt say no to a new Military one, but it will be hard to pass after Rudy who was definitly a blast to watch, at least to my eyes !)... and looking forward to see what Mark and Gracie are up to, cause I doubt they've disapeared of the story that simply. Oh, and, about "gone" characters... do we know what happened to Marion Bowles (Charlotte's previous careholder from Topside). Was she killed or just disgraced ? Or, as I think it is, we have no information on the matter ? And following my train of thoughts, I'm now wondering about Virginia Coady... last we heard she was still alive, so who knows what she could be up to... trying to revive projet Castor with the military or simply out of the tale ? ... -

We really need to learn more about Helsinki... were all the clones there self-aware ? Or where they all regrouped in the same spot by Dyad operators and the girls had no knowledge of each other ? Was it, just like Montréal seems to be, a place where a small groupe of LEDA clones were living their life, monitored ? ... I really hope we'll get answers to these questions some day ! -
Nice of the writers to give something more to Dolls... wonder what the hell is this "drug"; if it's even one and not a camouflage stuff, and if there's more to his "true nature" than meets the eyes.
-
Nooo ! ^^ I'm so looking forward to see show-Euron this season ! Loved the little moment when he kept a perfect footing on the bridge during the storm ! Tells a lot about the character !
-
Curtis was amazing this episode ! Say what you will about Metatron, but the day Curtis leaves the show will be a sad day ! (as much as Julian Richings departure, though I havent given up on Death just yet). And his love and faith of stories always made the character deeply entertaining and fascinating to me, despite all his other flaws, and I'm glad that aspect of Metatron was on fire this week !
-
Seems like Alec Sadler wasnt done with time travel ! ^^ Damn, that season is shaping up to be awesome !
-
I was wondering the same. I've seen the three episodes available and now the wait for the rest of the season begins.
-
Question I'm wondering : will she make her debut in the Christmas Special or only in season 10 ? I guess she'll have her first appearance in the special though : season 10 hasnt started filming and I doubt they'd have shot that small scene just for introducing the companion, so it's likely a extract from the Christmas Special and she's already in !

S04.E02: Transgressive Border Crossing
Triskan replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Orphan Black [V]
Okay, I feel like many people will think the show is jumping the shark with the whole Neolution-parasite, but personally I'm definitly in ! Looking forward to see where that will lead us ! -
Not getting Bjorn reacting to his daughter's death is disapointing (among other flaws this episode), but all in all, it was a very solide mid-finale. No closure on Lagertha... I really thought it would be her final episode, so I wouldnt be surprised if she dies early when the show returns. So, Finehair's brother is dead right ? And they could have given Ivar a club so he could at least try to walk, or would that be too demanding for his condition ? I'm kinda disapointed by the actor chosen for adult Sigurd. I think the kid actor had something very enigmatic and eerie to him while the adult just looks like Erlendur's second coming... but we'll see what the actor is worth. I did get a good vibe from all the other actors chosen for the aged versions of the kid, though. Even Hvitserk who was, let's face it, the least developed of them all so far, so no idea what direction his character will go. And damn looking forward to Bjorn and co adventures in the Mediterannean sea... even though; we may get 5 episodes of Wessex before sailing there...

Loved the episode but I must say I'm not to convinced by MK... seems like a Helena repeat to me, but we'll see...
