Please, Hopper is totally going for the Magnum PI look.

S03.E01: Chapter One: Suzie, Do You Copy?
Captain Carrot replied to Athena's topic in Stranger Things
Yeah, he went through way too much trouble for a fake girlfriend. (Although he probably did exaggerate how perfect she is). I didn't think that Joyce's idea of talking to Mike and El like they were friends would work for Hopper, but she was right that simply yelling at them would fail. So, I'm glad he found a compromise between the two extremes. Billy is (was?) a horrible person, but he didn't deserve that. -
I love Lindsay Ellis, and I love the burn at the very end, with the mention of Audible. 😛 I have to agree, and this was a great video. (Can't wait for part two). She did point out what I've, retroactively, realized was a warning sign for the show's later seasons. That being the way the show changed the characters of Shae and Tyrion from their book counterparts to a point that the book resolution for their story no longer made sense, but kept that ending anyway.

I just hope that it's an actual sequel, with something other than the setting connecting it to BG1 and BG2.

If I remember correctly the Holy Roman Empire had a similar system, and it didn't work out that well. The nobles started electing ineffectual rulers, as that allowed the nobles to have more power in their own lands.

I had forgotten all about that. I wouldn't want some corny exposition to remind the viewers of that scene, but they really should of had at least one line at some point this season where she mentions that she liked traveling.

Sansa being Queen of the North makes sense. Jon going north of the wall makes sense. Bran being king, kinda makes sense. (Probably more a failure in execution since the show runners never figured out how to show why Bran was important). But when did Arya ever indicate a desire to sail or explore the world?

I refuse to let the trolls dictate my behavior, which is a good thing because they make me want to skip Shazam out of spite. (And it's not DC/WB's fault).

True, but people would have said the same thing about the Guardians of the Galaxy a few years ago. Honestly there's a lot you could do with the concept of immortals living among us throughout history. (see Highlander as an example). Also, the Eternals mythology includes the Deviants and the Celestials. So, it could be another way to expand the MCU.

I have a question. I want to make meatballs, but a lot of the recipes I find include veal. I don't eat veal, and was wondering if anyone knew of a good substitute for veal in this type of recipe?

One moment I noticed on my third watch was in the Alchemax cafeteria. Most of the scientists jump up to attack Peter and Miles. But one woman makes this frustrated face, like all she wanted was a cup of coffee and now they have to chase down Spider-Man

So, apparently Jonathan Hickman is back at Marvel, and writing two X-Men limited series this summer. Word of warning, the poster in the article has details that might be spoilers. https://comicbook.com/marvel/2019/03/23/marvel-jonathan-hickman-x-men-event/

The Thor franchise was rebooted in Ragnarok, so I think he's the least likely to die. (Followed closely by Black Widow).
-
I've been thinking of the Black Widow movie. I know it was announced as a prequel, but what are the odds that this was just to avoid spoilers. After all, she obviously survives End Game if she has a movie set after the events of End Game.

We don't know how organized the Skrulls are. The group in Captain Marvell were good guys, but there could be other groups that are less peaceful.

I always assumed that Disney was worried that right wing anger over Gunn keeping his job after Roseanne got fired would cause the government to deny the merger. So, I'm not surprised that the news came out right before the merger is completed next week.

The DC Extended Universe: To Thanagar and Beyond!
Captain Carrot replied to MarkHB's topic in Movies
Oh, I'm not shocked by his actions. I'm shocked that AT&T kept him around. If I'm in charge of a company, and find out that someone cost the company boatloads of money for the sake of their bonus. That person would be emptying their desk. -

So, basically they decided to introduce characters before having them team up, and they realized that the same tone doesn't work for every character. If only there had been someone making similar movies that they could have used as an example of how to do an interconnected universe. Seriously, how does this guy still have a job. Especially if there's any truth about him choosing his bonus over delaying the release of Justice League until it could be fixed. https://consequenceofsound.net/2017/11/warner-bros-execs-refused-to-delay-justice-league-release-date-for-fear-of-losing-bonuses-report/ -
So, they're going to ignore the reboot, and make a new Ghostbusters set in the original continuity. Does that count of a reboot of a reboot, or is it simply a sequel? My guess is that it will be a repeat of the original. Which is a shame, because the first two movies make it clear that there's only enough ghosts to turn a profit immediately prior to an appearance of an entity like Gozer. I would like to see a movie about characters that are excited that a big bad is going to appear. (Although that might not be a tone that Reitman would go for). https://news.avclub.com/ecto-1-stars-in-the-first-teaser-for-jason-reitmans-gho-1831806114

S03.E12: Chidi Sees the Time Knife
Captain Carrot replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in The Good Place [V]
He's definitely going to include someone that the cast already knows. (Maybe DonkeyDoug as even Jason gave up on him). -
I think the budget determines the type of show you can do. A show about Loki needs a bigger FX budget to look good than a street level show like Daredevil.

I just saw the Stan Lee outtakes from Ant-Man and the Wasp, and had to post them.
