    The NBA

I feel like this is what the Warriors series will be like. Portland will have some runs here and there, and it will be reasonably close for the most part, but then GS will pull away. I'd probably suit up Durant for Game 2, but I would limit his minutes a lot. There's no need at this point.
  3. I always thought he was simply because those doth protest too much. (I actually thought there was a Philadelphia 2.)
  4. I took it Tokyo and France. It's fantastic. My dog went right to sleep because it's a quiet hum. And they have drink/food cars. You're not all crammed in like a plane. Probably wouldn't cost as much either. I'm not sure the travel time would be so much extra either.
  5. The episode fails completely without Snoop. I was surprised Stan got high, but it was a con, then he got high at the end. I did like how they all died in obviously stoner ways. I had two stoner roommates, and they were great, but wow were they morons. And of course they play Kurtis Blow for no reason.
  6. That's what I was saying about rail down the coasts, etc. People take Amtrak from NYC to DC all the time. High speed rail could get you from Seattle to San Diego in 5 hours? I don't live near family, but I don't travel for Thanksgiving. So that reduces 2 flights (thanksgiving, xmas) to one. We also drive a ton around here. I don't understand why people will fly, which takes the better part of a day, when I get get to the same location in 8 hours driving.
  7. I think we did too. Richard got to be president which a lot of people wanted. I wanted a final Sue scene. Selina was effective as an assassin taking out Tom James and conniving herself to the nomination. I was stunned she sold out Gary, even though Andrew floated the idea before. She at least looked a little sad about it. The scene of her alone in the oval office was fantastic. I think a lot of tv is overwritten, and for such a wordy show to have a good solid scene with no lines was great for me. Given how she described being VP, I don't think she regretted it though. And the other lady got to be a two term president too. I would love to know why Jonah was impeached. I know the show is meant to be over the top, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if this is how it mostly is. I don't think I've ever been around for a brokered convention, but if there is ever going to be one, it could easily be 2020.
  8. When Selina was in the limo after escaping you see a disheveled person who looks a lot like Andrew standing on the sidewalk in a dark jacket. Selina does a doubletake.
  9. I didn't own a car for nearly 20 years because Berkeley/San Francisco and Tokyo have public transportation. (I don't know if anyone would call Muni *good*, but people use it). I had to buy one for my new job though because those options aren't here. Additionally, in the big mountain west out here, flying isn't really an option because it's cheaper to drive to these more remote cities, but it's still a 600 mile trip each way. I get great mileage, but it's still a lot of gas.
  10. I think the green new deal is fine jumping off point to tackle climate issues. I don't think you're going to achieve these goals without including nuclear, but it is the most complex problem we've ever faced as a people. The one thing I just don't get is the sheer terror they have for AOC which derails any substantive debate. So what if we get rid of some airplanes? It's patently ridiculous that we have to use a plane to go north/south on the coasts or in the midwest corridor instead of high speed rail, which is a known and established technology worldwide.
  11. I think Louise knows. At the end she made a comment about Tina not being able to have Jimmy's butt to herself, but that she (Tina) did the right thing. I don't really have a problem with Tina perving per se, but it's been long enough that this plot needs some development. He was flat out mean to her last week, and she didn't accept his apology, but we're right back at the start again. I'll give him credit for trying to help the goose, but that's like the one nice thing he's done. And I can't believe 1. I typed that sentence, and 2. you all know to what I'm referring.
  12. I liked that they threw out Woods. The lines about Truman cracked me up. What was up with the "oh, word" line? Wow, they went to town on Hannity. Savage. Peter was wrong - I like politics episodes. I like when they dig back into the Quagmire/Brian rivalry. Ha, Cranston shout out. And raccoon account was a great gag. Who was the voice of Melissa from OnStar? It sounded like Rachel. I liked how they did the ending theme with a Batman type flavor. And that was a nice end with Adam West. I remember from the commentaries from the original airings that Seth really liked him.
  13. Seriously, I'm getting sick of this Jimmy Jr bullshit with Tina. Good for her for having the plan at the end, but still. He's a fucking douchebag. He doesn't even have that nice of an ass. Bob, you took the money. Nothing wrong with that. The guy wasn't damaging the restaurant or anything. Stop complaining. My favorite plots are with the kids anyway, and this felt like, 'we need a b plot so let's give Bob and Linda something to do.' You really don't need the b plot. I like the whole Breakfast Club vibe with the kids. Was the karate kid new? I don't remember him before. I did like how they all were like, "we'll have pocket sized Rudy do it!" Frond is SUCH a busybody. WE ALL KNOW IT.

    The NBA

Kind of indicative of the series from what I was able to watch. This was poor basketball overall. I'm not seeing how getting to 90 is going to win a trip to the the Finals.
  15. They did a little while ago when Peter was naming off all the characters that Meg could go to some event with instead of him. He poked his head out the window to see all the characters he named (including the Orville, the ship), and they showed Carrie Fisher and Adam West as Force Ghosts.
  16. I go back and forth, and it's an interesting issue. I don't usually binge because I like to come here and talk about shows I like over the week. The Orville board has been really active and it's fun to talk about the show there. I like to watch the Sunday cartoons in real time too. Topical shows like Sam Bee and Real Time I watch when they air or the day after because the timeliness of the discussion goes goes from week to week. But there's so much content out there. I travel a lot so I'll binge on the plane. I watched Sex Education and Glow recently. The Man in the High Castle and Stranger Things at the end of last year.

    The NBA

I got to watch what was an exciting 4th quarter. Those fall away jumpers were lethal. Denver made a few mental errors I think cost them. With 8 seconds left there was still time for a quick 2 and foul than throwing up the long 3. Totally disagree with Van Gundy about not fouling with 11 seconds to go. Absolutely the right call.
  18. So Five-0 can literally arrest anyone on the island? I can't imagine they can yank a CEO into the blue room without a court order. That was actually a cool car chase and stunt with the crash. Even though Steve's plan was ridiculously stupid, destroyed property, and nearly got them killed.
  19. That's why you have Five-0. Nepotism at its finest. Go to Chicago to torture someone because you might think they killed your friend? Sure. Someone comes to Five-0 about a national security threat? You can punch them out. Agency turf wars is such a tired trope, though I did like Steve pulling a Columbo. I actually liked the whole Toast/hacker plot line, so revisiting this character was ok with me. I like the topic too. Cyberwar is rather timely. I like how the restaurant is wildly successful. Who wrote the A-plot? It seemed sharper than usual. The B-plot was dumb. I'm so sick of having the characters bicker. You have an office?! That's not the key takeaway. Also, ha ha, 'Five 0 hospitality'.
  20. I had to laugh at the irony of Lou objecting to 'busting some heads.' Ok.
  21. SEASON 3 https://io9.gizmodo.com/the-orville-has-been-renewed-for-a-third-season-1834703414?utm_medium=socialflow&utm_source=io9_facebook&utm_campaign=socialflow_io9_facebook&fbclid=IwAR2vu81xZjjwIHXS-aoDAmfTRrxkpHo1KVW4jRbxzNZODp_N9eSpfxEDf60
  22. That NRA woman is one of the most vile people ever, but she's so bad and hamfisted. I'd call it a dog whistle, but it was more like an air horn - 'the dead thug'.
