  1. I don't think Taylor Swift cares 1 whit about pay except when she's involved/a potential recipient. Like when a music service is offering her music for free, during what's meant to be a *short-term* trial period (like the cable movie channels' Free Movie Weekends), & she feels she's getting screwed over because she's not being paid her royalties & other fees for that trial period. Like it's gonna kill her or she'll end up homeless by not getting paid her due for her songs for a few days--a week or less! Greedy Beyotch, much?
  2. Nice coincidence the Chicago Cubs at least won the Wild Card Game, last night, to get into their League's Divisional Series (against St.Louis) this year. We'll have to see if they can get any farther since the 2nd movie predicted they'd be 2015 World Series Champions (defeating Miami, which wasn't a real team when the movie came out but it is now--though I don't think they made the playoffs this year in real life, so if the Cubbies make the real life World Series they'd be playing a different team).
  3. Somebody already mentioned it, either upthread or in another of the commercials threads. It may have to do with food coloring which may also be used to make the buns black (They use squid ink in Japan, but apparently not here--I wonder if using the squid ink would make things different with "side effects" from eating our black buns?).
  4. I think it was more due to Jed's health than anything else. At least as I remember. It had to do with how long it had been since Jed's initial MS diagnosis--which, as I remember from canon, was before he ran for, & was elected, President (hence Abbey's problems with the AMA & having meds meant for Jed sent to her, prescribed in her name, on the campaign trail). I don't think this is a spoiler for you anymore. Jed & Abbey had apparently agreed he would be a 1-term only President because, taking into consideration when his MS was diagnosed, he could probably expect a fairly drastic decline in his capabilities by a certain point in a theoretical 2nd term in office (because of how the disease normally progresses--how long it takes to--from the point of initial diagnosis), & that decline could seriously affect how well Jed could physically & mentally carry out the duties of his office, & possibly if he'd actually survive long enough to complete a 2nd term. Abbey didn't want Jed possibly killing himself for the sake of remaining President for the 2 full terms Constitutionally allowed to any holder of the office.
  5. Early ratings for this ep: In the Adults 18-49 Demo, it got a 1.0 rating & a 3 share, with 3.1 million viewers. TV by the Numbers says it was down 0.5. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2015/10/07/tv-ratings-tuesday-oct-6-2015/477083/
  6. I thought Allison's daughter, Weslie, was tWitch's daughter too, when I was talking about Allison's pregnancy announcement Monday night--I even posted the new baby was *their* second child. Then I started seeing Tweets from the ET-type shows that said this is Allison & tWitch's first child together, which confused me. According to Allison's Wikipedia page, Weslie is her daughter by a former fiancé, whose name was given--at least in an article used as a source for info on her page--but I've forgotten it now. I don't know, for sure, if tWitch has adopted Weslie or not. I can't find anything confirming or denying it, either way, online.
  7. Yesterday, Mrs. Obama & some students from local DC schools did the annual fall harvesting of the White House Kitchen Garden. Afterwards, she & the students ate a lunch consisting of a salad made up of some of the vegetables & other things they'd just harvested, along with chicken. The salad also prominently featured kale, farro & 2 varieties of quinoa. I thought of you all here when I saw that. Here's the link to the recipe, in case anyone who likes the dreaded kale, farro & quinoa (or anyone else) might like to try it. http://www.letsmove.gov/blog/2015/10/07/kitchen-garden-vegetable-salad-bowl-zesty-chicken-quinoa-and-farro
  8. We usually have to wait anyway, if I order a burger or fish sandwich during lunch or dinner, since I don't like certain burger toppings or tartar sauce--so waiting for something on the breakfast menu's not a big deal. Qoass: Yes, they have the Sausage Burrito on the All-Day Breakfast Menu. At least according to the website. So hopefully you can get it when you want 1 after the usual breakfast hours.
  9. If you were anywhere near San Diego, that could explain why you saw some MCD's doing the all-day breakfast thing before October 6th. They were doing "testing" of the all-day menu thing in San Diego & Nashville before the national rollout. I also heard/read that some stores/franchisees started serving it earlier than October 6th, once McD's corporate announced it was being added to the menu. Some restaurants in smaller places around my hometown did too, but I think the ones in my city waited until October 6th to start the menu. Tattleteeny: I just looked at BK's online menu. Flnurse is right. It's the extra long jalapeño cheeseburger (they've also done a couple of other "extra long" burgers in the last year). It's just another way of making a double patty burger--with the meat side-by-side, on the sub/hoagie-type bun they usually use for 1 of the chicken sandwiches--instead of having the meat stacked on top of each other on a standard round bun, as usual.
  10. If anyone's telling George Peppard anything, it's definitely posthumously. He died in 1994. But yeah, I've also heard The A-Team's set was an anti-female "Boys' Club" too, when it came to the men in the titular team & the lead cast's apparently token female(s).
  11. Frank Albanese, Tony's Uncle Pat in The Sopranos, Dies at 84. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/frank-albanese-dead-sopranos-actor-830488
  12. Eddie was on The Chew today. He made a chicken wings recipe involving rum, I think with Mario Batali.
  13. They mentioned, in passing, on Monday night that this coming Monday (Switch-Up Week) would *not* be an elimination week. That's what I heard, anyway. More than once, I'm pretty sure.
  14. New Pet Peeve: The "All-Day Breakfast" menu at McDonald's *doesn't* include their McGriddles breakfast sandwiches (my favorite item on their breakfast menu).
  15. Apparently not. We have 3, including the 1 nearest our house; we've also eaten at the next nearest 1 to our house (before we got the closer 1), that's another 24-hour restaurant, & they never had all-day breakfast either.
  16. If you get all-day breakfast at Steak 'n Shake, you're lucky. We've been eating there for years (we live in NE Indiana & have 1 that's 5 minutes or less from our house) & we've never gotten all-day breakfast here. I did some Googling; at least 4 years ago, at the 24-hour restaurants (which our closest 1 is) you supposedly could get breakfast starting at 3AM, until 11AM. You could get burgers &/or breakfast between 3AM & 6 AM; then the breakfast menu only 6-11AM.
  17. And Tom's Co-Host on FX's Breakfast Time was a woman named Laurie Hibberd, who eventually went on to marry (& have 2 daughters with) Michael Gelman (aka "Gelman") the Executive Producer of the daytime talk show that started out as Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee & is currently known as Live! with Kelly and Michael. Atir: As we said, Tom's national TV career really started on the old FX daytime show Breakfast Time (he had previously been doing local broadcasting in the Northeast). He's probably best-known, though, as the host of both Hollywood Squares (the version--I think the most recent 1 in syndication--with Whoopi Goldberg in the center square) & ABC's Dancing with the Stars. He's won Emmys for hosting both shows. For the last few years, except for this year (when he was filming his episode of Who Do You Think You Are?), he's also been the host of A Capitol Fourth, the annual PBS broadcast of the Fourth of July concert held on the lawn of the US Capitol building in Washington, DC. I think those are the works he's best-known for. I think he also does other, random, TV hosting gigs periodically, & he's also been a celebrity participant on the syndicated game show Celebrity Name Game (created by actress Courteney Cox & her ex-husband, actor David Arquette, hosted by Craig Ferguson, former host of CBS' Late Late Show).
  18. I thought the squid ink buns were only in Japan. The US buns are only supposed to be food coloring (& supposedly the A.1. Sauce as in the sandwich).
  19. None of the Mickey D's have hash browns for all-day breakfast? I looked at the online all-day breakfast menu, on their site; it included hash browns. What I'm ticked off about is, they didn't include the McGriddles. Those are my favorite breakfast things there. I don't get how they can do "regular" pancakes, & almost every other type of breakfast sandwich they have all day (at least certain McMuffins & the biscuit sandwiches--they're not doing the bagel sandwiches all day either), but they can only do McGriddles during morning breakfast hours. What's so hard about them (or the bagels), compared to the stuff they are doing?
  20. You know the actress who played the younger version of Mrs. Landingham in Two Cathedrals is the same actress who played Chief Vick in Psych, right?
  21. No. A poster upthread posted about a "trailer" (at least technically a commercial) for this week's (2 days ago now, as it's Tuesday) episode of Madam Secretary, which they saw. The commercial showed the title character--a fictional US Secretary of State, played by Téa Leoni--being sworn in as US President. The OP doesn't watch the show & wanted to know how that happened since the Secretary of State is, according to the show--& presumably the Constitution--fourth in the Presidential Line of Succession (Was everyone in the Line of Succession before her dead, or what?). Since I saw the ep, I explained it.
  22. And another movie tie-in: Universal has released a "trailer" for Jaws 19, the movie which terrorized Marty. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/jaws-19-universal-releases-back-829636?utm_source=twitter
  23. It doesn't sound good for Tom's Dad (unless I'm misinterpreting); this coming straight from Tom on Twitter, about 1 1/2 hours ago as I write this. https://twitter.com/tom_bergeron/status/651243447450488832
  24. I started to write it your way. Should've stuck with that. Thanks. Are you sure there's no apostrophe in it?
