  1. I completely agree with you there. The Stark kids are the backbone. I'm just throwing myself a pity party because it annoys me that they always seem to kill them off before reuniting them. At least chop off a head while they are running towards each other in anticipation of a tearful reunion or something. Jeez:)
  2. The thing is, I don't really hold it against any of them. I'm generally fond of them all. I like Sansa, Arya, and Jon. Bran I could do without. I just am not too fond of the duty first "Starkness" mostly because it feels more plot driven than character driven a lot of the time. They need the chess pieces in certain places. Its the same with all of them by necessity believing all the others are dead. It feels like that is for the sake of the plot too.
  3. Game Of Thrones - Storm of Swords / A Dance with Dragons - It Gets Better An old one but it makes me laugh. Based on a PSA. So just in case. Unsullied don't look. Book spoilers, but not really. Season 3 spoilers definitely. I am unspoiled, although I keep trying not to be but not really motivated enough I guess. Although I suppose there are book spoilers and people who've read them will go "oh, I know what they are talking about". My reaction was "well, they named people and places and it was all vague and I could have guessed based on having seen the show before. But just in case, spoilers, spoilers, spoilers. But not really.
  4. The problem with how they portray the House of Stark is that they don't let them act as a "House". They're are reduced to a large degree to being the entry to each story. Its as if by having a Stark in nearly every story-line is the mechanism to create a cohesive world where everything is interconnected, perhaps more so than most factions being motivated for the Iron Throne or a victim of those with that motivation. Starks separated in season 1 have not really been reunited since then and now most of them are dead. Most have no idea of anything happening to the others. They don't seem to have any real urgency in reuniting/saving family members because they are busy. Efforts to send flunkies to help the younger Starks seem token at best. All of this always feels more of a necessity of the story than organic to how a "House" behaves. Jon Snow found out about Robb off-screen. Really Arya seems like the only one tightly connected to the others, but its because vengeance for the wrongs done her family are her motivator and she is always just minutes too late to atrocities perpetrated on Starks so there is an immediacy and connection to her family even though she is isolated from them. Everyone else is reacting like some cousin they hadn't seen since childhood died but its a couple years before someone thought to mention it and eventually someone turns their attention back to more pressing matters. I guess the other exception is Sansa because the Lannisters decide to torture her with everything they do to her family. Its too bad really. I like the Starks as individuals but the Lannisters, as f'ed up as they are, are more of a family.
  5. I think Subrookie is right. They did it precisely because Jaime was on a redemption arc. This is the reminder that these are bad people and that Jaime throws kids out of windows because of his incestuous relationship with his sister.
  6. This led me to his tweet of the redneck turtle burger. So thanks;) I found that disturbing enough to have to make sure that some sick person had carved hotdogs to look like feet rather than the name of the meal being a little too accurate.
  7. I did Game of Thrones which returns goats and hedgehogs. What if Game of Thrones was a romantic comedy?
  8. I blame the episode 2 thread {spoiled version} for this. I am unspoiled, so googled the second half of the spoiler and well, I'm still unspoiled. But now I've seen goats sing the theme song
  9. I was getting more of a Vampire Diaries vibe. At one point I said, "Oh, Bellamy is Damon." Although something about the other one reminds me more of Dan on Gossip Girl.
  10. I think that Kosh helping Sheridan defeat Kosh 2.0 also points to the Vorlons being slightly more right. Or at least not as far down the path of those who don't believe as they do must die. Because there was no Shadow that didn't fall in line with all the others.
  11. Well, I'm a sobbing mess. More so than I should be. Sally sacrifices herself to make Aidan human and save Josh, crying. The three at Nora's apartment grieving Sally, crying. Aidan eating food, laughing. Josh finding out Aidan is dying, crying. Aidan dying where Sally died, crying. Aidan is a ghost, laughing. Aidan finding Sally behind the door, crying. The dream of the four of them at the end, crying again. It was cathartic, I guess.
  12. That's because when only two thirds of MacGyver is present, you need a stick of gum and a paper clip. Daniel had the paper clip. I really hated all the MacGyver references on the show. I think it was because Sam got stuck with all of them and they were always so stupid. Sam had all the truly deplorably stupid lines in season 1.
  13. I felt very dumb many years later when someone pointed out how easy it should have been for the military, without Daniel, to randomly find the seventh symbol in the movie because that never occurred to me. I though Russell and Spader set up SG-1 Jack and Daniel's future relationship on SG-1 very well so I was always grateful for that. They did mine the movie a lot for season one. When I rewatch, I guess that is what I'll look for. How much did season 1 revisit?
  14. Because maybe some day they will be again. And we need to start the trend of new threads. No really, its because I need to talk about this again: This is the most surreal foretelling of a TV show I've ever seen.Christopher Judge on MacGyver. But wait, that is not all; and I'm not even talking about the Fade and the Mullet. MacGyver is channeling Sam and teaching physics. MacGyver is channeling Daniel and talking about ancient greeks. There is a chalk drawing on the board with a guy dressed in the costumes of early aliens SG-1 encountered. MacGyver has also drawn a lever system that allows him to move planets, I guess. Is it possible that MacGyver used a stick of gum to split himself and Daniel, Sam, and Jack are all aspects of MacGyver's personality?
  15. I went to look at SG1 fanfiction once and what I found funny was that if you sort by popularity a huge portion of SG-1 fan-fiction is about one or the other team member being transformed into children of varying ages and being raised by various couplings of other team members.
  16. I didn't. Although I didn't mean to exclude her either. It was really just a round about way of saying the absence of Snow/Mary Margaret has the show humming along much better. I really liked when Snow resembled BanditSnow. I haven't founf much to like about Snow since they arrived in Neverland.
  17. I'm here. And I guess now I have to buy all the seasons. I vote season 1, but that's because I purchase in chronological order and haven't bought season 2 yet. I'm debating whether to go expensive individual seasons or horribly reviewed and scratched but cheaper box set. I'm ok with movie first though if that's the consensus.
  18. It weirds me out that a picture of kittens if chasing these posts. Maybe that's the twist. A coat made of kittens. Is "too many voices" from the sneak something Rumple has talked about before? Is it all his victims? All the prior Dark Ones? Or something new?
  19. Aghhh. So it just occurred to me that I only have 4 {now 5 posts} and I'm in a group called Member. I don't think that I can take the suspense of finding out if there are other groups and how many posts it takes to get there. Not again. Its stresses me out.
  20. And making Jonas so brilliant that he absorbed, by osmosis, the knowledge Daniel had spent a lifetime earning just added insult to injury.
  21. might want to add after the sale to that ;) Hello. Glad there is a place to go and here I am. Same name.
  22. The sneak looks great. Finally a father/daughter conversation. I've got to say that I'm, really loving all the combinations of Emma, Hook, David, and Rumple that we've seen so far since the mid-season return. But Snow is just torture. Good thing the sneak came out because the stills had me dreading the episode. I am not liking the Snow/pregnancy/Wicked story line at all. Last episode had me thinking it, but Wicked's costume in the photos makes me think its intentional. Are they having Zelena masquerade as Mary Poppins?
  23. Jonas Quinn's absolute fail must have been a secret conspiracy by the producers/writers to convince the network to give Shanks a pay raise to lure him back, There is no way to botch something so completely unless it was on purpose. Oh wait, SGU. Did I mention that Jonas Quinn is the reason why Mitchell was such a complete SG1 fanboy. Why yes I have, many times. And just because I have to, who was the brain trust that came up with the idea to introduce Jonas as culpable in Daniel's death and besmirching his memory?
