S02.E09: 40 Oz. of Furlough
DangerousMinds replied to David T. Cole's topic in Orange Is The New Black
I thought Larry still lived in the apartment he had shared with Piper before she left for prison? Does his family own it? -
So do we think she got caught for stealing the pink iPad, or something else? I too floved the grammar conversation. It's "could NOT care less," dammit, and I won't accept anything else!

S02.E08: Appropriately Sized Pots
DangerousMinds replied to David T. Cole's topic in Orange Is The New Black
Question for you all - has it been your experience that all Spanish-speaking people are referred to as "Spanish?" I lived in California for 15+ years and worked mostly in social services, and we always used "Latino/a" for those from Latin American, and "Spanish" for Europeans. Now I'm thinking I really missed something! -
S02.E13: We Have Manners. We're Polite.
DangerousMinds replied to David T. Cole's topic in Orange Is The New Black
Yes, what was Suzanne's crime? If they told us, I missed it. I don't think Piper is necessarily the smartest inmate at Litchfield, but she's had a privileged upbringing and education that most others there haven't. So she can casually throw out literary references because of that education. -
I agree with you. I definitely don't think all cheating spouses are sociopaths. Dean may well be, but I also think he has sexual needs and preferences that perhaps aren't easily met in a conventional monogamous marriage and although he wants to be faithful, he keeps finding that he can't. And yes, i think he did it because he thought he could get away with it and it was just a weekend fling. Tori can't possibly understand this, so there they are. Dean ends up having to try and find "rational" explanations for the cheating other than the plain old truth. I don't really think they will be compatible for a long-term marriage. ETA: Thanks to all who bit the bullet and watched this! After reading here I think I'll just delete the show without watching. It's fun reading the comments here, but watching can be painful.

It seems she is going from bad to worse. I read yesterday that she might move IN to Chiltern Firehouse (the bar/club that she's been seen at many times recently in London). Apparently it's owned by the same man who owns the Chateau Marmont in LA (where she lived for years), and there are hotel rooms there, and they've offered her a room for free? Really really bad idea Lindsay! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2653800/Lindsay-Lohan-uncharacteristically-elegant-chic-coat-pencil-dress-steps-London-amid-claims-shes-MOVING-IN-Chiltern-Firehouse.html Also, she may have missed her younger brother's high school graduation. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2654070/Lindsay-Lohan-missed-brother-Codys-graduation-choosing-continue-partying-London-instead.html

All Episodes Talk: Admit it. You Can't Stand The View.

I remember Jenny being the host of the show Singled Out in 1995. Apparently she was in Playboy prior to that, but I myself first became aware of her through that show. Then she was in several TV shows and movies. I also loved her first book about her pregnancy. -

Jenna Elfman was also in a similar Lifetime-type movie where she suffers from the same. -

And he won me over by being in a band called Sideboob! Hilarious. -
S06.E10: Sidecars and Spermicide
DangerousMinds replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Nurse Jackie [V]
I've worked in lots of medical settings, and I imagine it would have been easy for Jackie to grab a sample pack of birth control pills. Depo Provera can have a lot of unwanted side effects, so I would go with the pills too, at least to start. But yeah, having that discussion on the street instead of sitting down calmly at home to do so seemed ridiculous to me. -
The actual title of this show is: Being Dad. Maybe a mod can make the correction? I found Vee to be an annoying, whining brat. She is what, only 20 or 21 now, and seemingly obsessed with having kids? Why not get established in a career and independent before focusing on that so much? Yikes.

She was indeed in a Playboy, but also did many other things as I recall. I think glasses on women can be sexy, and know quite a few men who think the same! That said, there's no need to wear "reading" glasses to a club, anyway. -
I completely agree with you, but what about the women who do the same? I'm not sure Halle Berry was even married to her ex, not that it makes a difference.
-
I'm nor either! And Kimmy in her pole dancing outfit, without her ever-present fuck-me heels? She looked as as tall as she is wide. Not a good look.
-
But is it acceptable for them to accept government public assistance or be in debt? Because it can get very expensive to keep having kid after kid if you're not very wealthy.
-
Why did it go on so long? Maybe Khloe actually took her marriage vows seriously - in sickness and in health, till death do us part? Something Kimmy would know absolutely nothing about.
-
And surely there will be at least one gay child within the 19 kids? Unfortunately, the risks due to Michelle's age, the risks are simply there. I don't think the doctor gave them any advice on how to mitigate risks in this situation.

A lot of the women seem to be imprisoned for drug activity, and in most cases I don't find that to be "monstrous." I have more of a problem with the drug laws and sentencing issues. Also, being imprisoned for drugs many times makes that person a felon for life, almost guaranteeing that they will have very little chance of getting a decent job and the ability to move forward in life after their sentence ends. So many end up involved in drugs/illegal activity again, because they are left with few other options. We saw what happened to Taystee when she easy released in season 1. And she has so much potential IMO if she were given a real chance.

Being in prison won't necessarily make Alex any safer. It seemed clear to me that Piper was just afraid to be alone. Alex had plans to leave the country. -

She sure seemed happy to play the naive shrinking violet in court.
