  1. I think that Stallone's nomination here is as more about the fact that he's almost 70 and has never won an Oscar for acting, so they're giving him a nomination because, well, who knows how much time he has left. This is basically a lifetime achievement award. If Sly was 50 and everyone was pretty confident that he had a lot of career left in front of him, I doubt that he'd be getting a nomination for this role because a Rocky sequel just isn't the sort of thing that's normally going to pass the snob test to get consideration, even if it was exceptionally well done and went back to the core of what made the original Rocky a great film and avoided the 80s superhero stories of the sequels.
  2. I feel like Kylo was made by grown men to be somebody that grown men would like to see get his ass kicked at the end of the movie. He starts off looking cool, but reveals himself to be a whiny punk who never grew out of his whiny teenager phase even though he's 30. He had the guy we all wish had been our cool Uncle for a father, but all he does is complain about him (and ultimately kill him) even though there doesn't seem to be anything his father actually did wrong. I think those things just happen to overlap with a lot of the things that make a "romantic" tortured Gothic figure for some younger women/teens.
  3. It looks like an armored cable connecting the gun to a larger power pack on the back of the costume.
  4. Maybe it's just that I'm the one comic geek on the planet who has always found Harley Quinn more annoying than charming, or that it was such a transparent copy of the Guardians trailer formula, but his trailer fell pretty flat to me.
  5. But what if things weren't as fine as they seemed? I think it could be argued that Dean has the kids actually expressing and working through their emotions instead of hiding them and keeping things bottled up. That they have an adult in their lives that they feel like they can talk to about such things is a good thing, IMO.
  6. I guess my issue is that I never got the sense that Lucas had any coding skills at all. Maybe I'm just forgetting something, but the only things I remember him doing were selling some stuff on line and losing a bunch of money gambling on sports. I guess that depends to some extent on whether the girls believe that Sara was always a willing participant in league with A from the beginning, and the whole kidnapping/bunker story was a work of if they believe that she really was kidnapped and tortured for years until she was brainwashed and would do anything that CeCe asked. If they believe the latter, then, on some level she's more of a victim than any of them. Which still makes it not really the girls fault, but the fact that they ran off to save their abuser rather than at least one of them trying to go get help for their fellow victim is the sort of thing that I could see them feeling guilty over.
  7. Lucas being rich from a tech company/apps is the weirdest thing to me. He seemed to have the sort of knowledge of computers that you'd expect from someone who plays a lot of modded games on his PC, he wasn't a hacker or coder that I can recall, certainly not on the same level as Mona or Caleb. Nor did he ever seem to have the sort of personality/leadership skills that would get a bunch of skilled coders to work for him at a startup. I'm just going to assume that he hit the powerball and and the whole tech thing is a story to make himself sound more impressive to girls.
  8. Once I thought about it, I realized that Obi-Wan, and Leia's message to him, is the reason that Leia and Han first met and he sacrificed himself to stall Vader when they were escaping the Death Star. In that respect I think it's pretty fitting that they would name their child after him.
  9. I don't think there's much to it. TV is filled with attractive people who have no idea that they're attractive. This is what happens when the industry standard for a dateless "nerd" is casting someone who works as a professional model and putting them in glasses and giving them a hairstyle that doesn't look red carpet ready. Our own Alex Danvers has some experience with this.
  10. I wish I thought that this show was self aware enough about the way they write Stef to say the juxtaposition of her casual insistence to Lena that it's okay to move Jesus ahead of other students trying to get in to Swanky Beach School because "the school owes [her]" with her insistence on the rules being followed with both her Mother getting her a new doctor and Mike waiting on arresting AJ's brother was intentional comedy.
  11. Unless I missed something, Hank wasn't trying to commit suicide, it was a feint to open the WM up to an attack from Supergirl. After they beat the WM, he was going to kill the WM rather than arresting her (him?), which is why he cuffed Kara, but she talked him down.
  12. If there was already a topic for this episode, I couldn't find it. I thought this was one of the better episodes of the series, the couple's massage went surprisingly dark
  13. Excellent Kylo Ren cosplay (with special guest, Deadpool)
  14. I think I just figured out another source of their money problems ...
  15. Personally I'd like to see McGee from NCIS to show up, but that's mostly because I'd get a kick out of seeing Troian and Sean Murray acting together again.
  16. Alison needs to take over Pastor Ted's church and lead all of Rosewood in shade-filled prayers every week.
  17. I can't see them actually making Winn a villain, he knows too much. Pure speculation on my part, but I think they'll do a story where he quits his job at Catco and goes to work for Max Lord, they'll play it up like he's switching sides, but then they'll pull back and reveal that he's been spying on Max for team Kara.
  18. Sure, the girls could have rationally talked things out themselves and then gone to Adam calmly, but Adam could have just gone to the two of them and explained things and trusted that they would both understand the situation instead of trying to fool them with a wacky sitcom plot that always fails. They were upset because Adam was lying to them and thought that he was going to spend the entire dance tricking the both of them. It's one of those "the lie is worse than the crime" situations.
  19. I agree that it's a joke, but it strikes me as a bit of a passive-aggressive one.
  20. That was a scene that was shot for the 6A finale and then cut. She said, "He doesn't agree with Dr. Rollins and me." Which, in the context of the conversation suggests it's about Charlotte being ready, but strikes me as something that's been worded by Alison to avoid telling the girls that she's in a relationship with the doctor without directly lying to them. The fact that he delivered the message in person and the way he looked at Alison implied that something was going on between them, IMO.
  21. I feel like the 4 short stories set-up of the show holds it back at times. There's a story that I'm enjoying like the gym bit and then it's over with 23 minutes left in the episode. Or the lame party/hotel story which had potential (even if it's a very old sitcom standard), but it felt like half the story was setting it up, then there was a joke about the son's band being lame, and then it's over. I really like the cast and the characters, but I think the show might be more enjoyable in a more traditional A, B, C story set-up or even just cutting it to 2 or 3 short stories each week so each segment had a little more chance to breath..
  22. Lucas basically says as much in the sides, he doesn't seem thrilled with the whole situation. Given the way that this show usually works, I'll be very surprised if the whole thing isn't the girls idea and they refused to take no for an answer. It seems in keeping with the way they've written the whole situation, you have a love triangle where everyone is so afraid of the third person being hurt that they keep floating things along.
  23. After the CeCe is Charlotte/A infodump/retcon Jason's 3-4 years older than Alison. Not that it matters much, but I'm pedantic. I got the impression that Jason thinks that whatever is going on between Alison and the Doctor is compromising his ability to treat/evaluate Charlotte.
  24. Is there some indication which I've missed that the writers even want to make Maya/Riley a couple but Disney isn't letting them? It seems like they're both dating Lucas until he makes a choice about who to be exclusive with. Which, I guess, is a form of (temporary) polyamory, but hardly a "threesome".
  25. Charlotte isn't really dead, she (or someone) used that same magic drug that made Mona, Jason, and Mr. D look dead, the ME and others were paid off or blackmailed.
