  1. Lizzy Weiss tweeted this link out today. Our next big taken from the headlines story is going to be about college racial tension. http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/wireStory/college-racial-tensions-play-tv-drama-36973347
  2. They're going to do a date rape story with Mariana and Jesus's friend, aren't they?
  3. There was an episode about "Muscles" and Adam back in season 1 where she was his long time best friend but Barry convinced Adam that she wanted to date him.
  4. Most of which could be explained by Amy being good with computers and having good eye-hand coordination. I think there was supposed to be a little doubt there as to whether she was really an Angel or just a mentally unstable drug user who had latched on to Allison at some point. Jane Lynch was on Colbert talking about the show a couple of weeks ago and said the character might just be crazy.
  5. I wish I could figure out this show's relationship with mental health. If anyone on the show deserves a pass due to mental health issues, it's probably the girl who was kidnapped and (probably) tortured and used as an Ali replacement for years. Yet she's the one all the girls view as evil, and gets called out for throwing her kidnapper under the bus.
  6. I think that Affleck looks fine in the trailers, based on limited footage I'd say that he makes a better Batman than Bale and a better Bruce than Keaton. I don't like the direction it looks like the story is taking the Bruce/Batman character, but that's a separate issue.
  7. Yeah, it took me most of the first season to learn the names on Modern Family, and this is an even bigger cast. So far I know Heather + TIm and their kids (Tyler, Samantha, Sophia) as well as Jen, who is Collin Hank's wife, and their daughter Lark. They put up some outtakes from this episode on the CBS website.
  8. Considering that the next Thor supposedly has something to do with Hela as the villain and the next Avengers has to do with Thanos, I think it's basically open season for any dead characters to return in those 2 films.
  9. "Hey Stef, can I talk to you about AJ?" "Listen, Mike, he's a criminal, we're police officers we have no choice!" "Sure, but, B, just pointed out to me we've repeatedly shown that we'll break the law and ignore our duty as police officers when it suits us. I mean, I shot a man! You blackmailed a guy! Honestly, if the one guy we send to jail is the only black male in the California foster system, we're going to start looking like racist cops that abuse our authority instead of non-racist cops who abuse their authority."
  10. This episode highlighted how ridiculous it is that they constantly mention Superman but never seem to make an attempt to bring him in while they're facing all sorts of alien threats. Kara had a weird alien parasite on her that they had no knowledge of, hey, maybe ask the only alien guy we know who fights monsters and stuff, he might have run across one at some point. Kara is out of commission and they think that team Astra is about to make their move, yet they don't ask Superman to help. They sent 4 teams of agents up against Kryptonians, and apparently they all ended up dead. Meanwhile mini-Kal is hanging out in Kara's head.
  11. In all honesty I was pretty disappointed with this one, I wanted a look at a life on Krypton and the world that Kara lost, but we barely got any of that. It was mostly focused on the other characters trying to save her.
  12. Winter Solider wasn't subtle in CA2, but this was during a stage where Hyrda was moving in to their end game and needed to remove Fury, the most paranoid guy on the planet, right away. Also, even if Howard was killed in a messy way, SHIELD would have covered it up and given the press and family a cover story like a car accident.
  13. GIven Lord's history in the comics, I feel like letting him work on a machine that poked around inside both Alex and Kara's heads is going to come back to bite everyone eventually.
  14. Howard Stark, billionaire, genius inventor, and founder of SHIELD (who was on the verge of creating cheap, clean energy) is about as big a gun as they get.
  15. All this Psylock talk makes me wonder which company has the Captain Britain rights.
  16. I don't know if it's an intentional Easter Egg, but Michael Carter is the real name of DC hero, Booster Gold.
  17. Well, that's what the school did to her. I don't recall Stef and Lena doing anything to her other than acting slightly upset and making her take Callie with her to a party a week later, but maybe I'm forgetting something.
  18. Other people can use the force, sure, but his is a feat so far beyond anything involving the force in any of the films that it's mind boggling. The most impressive thing a Jedi ever did in a film was ... lift an X-Wing out of a swamp. Zeb's shocky stick was holding back the gravitational force of an "imploded star cluster", that's like the difference in power between Jimmy Olsen and Superman.
  19. Did ... did a bloody bo-rifle nullify a gravitational force strong enough to atomize ships? Seriously?
  20. To play advocate: They've were playing up his old crush on Hanna, so maybe it's a twisted way to try to Nice Guy Hanna into falling for him? He murders Charlotte (which has the bonus effect of hurting Alison, who he hates), the girls are obvious suspects and don't leave town. He gets to swoop in and "save" Hanna from the police, gets her to stay at his place, he starts sending messages as the new "A", and he'll eventually come back in and make himself look like the hero and save her from "A" or keep her/her Mom from being arrested for the murder. Personally I think it's more likely that he's back to being an A minion, either for Mona or someone else who is actually the one responsible for his success.
  21. Mariana who, as we were reminded in this episode, stole her brother's ADHD medication and solid it at school (and then stood back and allowed him to take the fall)? It's hardly just Brandon who gets away with doing crazy things on this show.
  22. Kara and Winn being best friends is backstory to the series. The show told us that they were besties in the first episode and she trusted him so much that she told him the Supergirl secret right away. And, indeed, Kara seems to have had no other friends in her life until James showed up. The series just picks up at the moment where Kara's world is suddenly expanding beyond being the awkward/shy girl in the office whose only friend was the awkward/shy IT guy in the office. Reconnecting with her sister, a new friend/crush in James, a new father figure in Hank/J'onn, and even IM bonding with the most famous man in the world over the superhero thing and their shared heritage. I think that Winn has spent most of the series acting like someone whose only friend (that he also has a big crush on) is suddenly branching out and feels like he's being left behind.
  23. Right, wasn't there a scene where Dr. Girlfriend and Gary made out over the Monarch's unconscious body and The Monarch didn't care and thought it was funny that Gary thought it was a big deal? The Monarch would only care about her having sex with another guy if it was someone he hated, like Venture or Phantom Limb, but losing the right to arch Rusty hits him where he lives.
  24. A minor observation on the whole "Ben" thing. I feel like there's a thematic link to the fact that Ben was the name that Obi Wan used to hide his true identity as a great Jedi Knight to be dismissed as a "crazy old man". Meanwhile, underneath his helmet and black robes, Kylo Ren is just Ben.
  25. And, as I said, that was before the franchise spawned sequels starring the likes of Hulk Hogan, Mr. T, Ivan Drago, Slco the Robot, and "Don King" and featured plot lines like Rocky winning over the Russian people by beating their champion and calling for an end to the cold war. Any new entry in the franchise is going to have with weight of Rocky Vs Thunderlips to deal with.
