  1. I'm pretty happy with Morris, he was interim coach for the Falcons after they fired Quinn, the record didn't set the world on fire that year, but the team showed a lot more fight under Morris after starting 0-5 under Quinn.
  2. The nation of Canada will not be celebrating Thanksgiving this week in a show of solidarity.
  3. Wash has been as beloved a figure as you'll find among Braves fans, will really miss his presence with the team.
  4. I do wonder is the movie would be projecting any better if they'd just called in Captain Marvel 2 and focused the marketing on Carol and Fury and Monica being Carol's niece all grown up, the last movie did make a billion dollars even if it was probably boosted by being between Infinity War and Endgame.
  5. It seemed like Bob's was basically just a round meatball sub and Jimmy just topped a pizza with more pizza.
  6. Unless there's a big twist that they've kept under wraps, it's an ... odd choice to devote so much of the final trailer to two characters who aren't in the movie and have only minimal connection to Carol.
  7. No, Rise made me dislike TLJ even more. Rise, flawed as it is, actually tries to grow things from the burned and salted earth that TLJ left them in, but Johnson left behind almost nothing of value because TLJ seemingly has no ethos or purpose other than to tear down the things he didn't like in TFA.
  8. The Braves also had a position player pitch, Nicky Lopez started at SS, went 4-6 with a HR and 5 RBI then took the mound and pitched a scoreless 9th.
  9. There were American volunteers who went over to fight in the war before Pearl Harbor. The RAF had Eagle Squadrons comprised entirely of American pilots.
  10. Shearer has said the Burns voice hurts his throat and he has to drink a lot of tea and honey to recover from voicing the character, so maybe that's finally caught up with him. I thought that audio quality itself sounded a bit off though, like maybe he had to record it in a closet and send it in.
  11. If I had access to this power I'd be really tempted to bring back some HOF hitter from, like, the 1920s just to see what would happen when they had to face modern pitchers who are all throwing 100 mph with movement
  12. I assume that the real world reason is that they don't want to have to animate a busy restaurant. In Universe I would guess that the antics of the family and Teddy drive most new customers away after a few visits.
  13. According to someone on reddit it's possibly a play on Cunningham Collective, a branding firm.
  14. Have you heard of Beverly's famous shrimp parm? Of course you have, it's famous!
  15. Since they tied Namor's origin to the Spanish in the Americas this isn't really possible. Plato wrote about Atlantis in 360 BC, so over 1800 years before Namor would have been born.
  16. This show is a brilliant satire of the modern gritty reboots and re-imaginings that have swept the entertainment landscape.
  17. Because of his announced retirement, and his sprint to over 700 career HRs down the stretch.
  18. There's a bit of a weird disconnect for me over Homer's relationship with Abe being played for sympathy rather than comedy considering that Homer has been shown repeatedly strangling his own 10 year old son for the entire series but it's played for laughs rather than traumatic. I don't want Homer to face a reckoning over it or anything, it's a cartoon and it's comedy, but it's always an odd line in the tonal sand where they decide when to have the characters treat over the top awful behavior as actually awful rather than just treating it like a mild annoyance for comedic fodder.
  19. Holy St. Elsewhere. I'll just never be a fan of the whole, "Everything you the viewer has been spending time consuming on for the last X episodes/films is actually fake and none of it matters, get a life you dorks" in universe reveal. Yes, it was always fake, but it being blatantly acknowledged as fake within the fiction itself just kills my ability to suspend disbelief and actually enjoy what I'm watching. As it stands now within the fiction of the MCU there is one person, Jen, with actual agency and the ability to make choices, everyone else is just a construct doing what they're made to do by writers. Matt isn't making a choice to stay in town or jump into bed. Todd the Incel wasn't making a choice to harass anyone online. Blonsky doesn't make a choice to turn himself in. Tony Stark didn't make a choice to die to stop Thanos. Thanos never made a choice to wipe out half the universe. Oh, Hulk has a son? Why should I care at this point? Oh well.
  20. Yes, if it was a personal safety item like a helmet or mask it would make some sense, but a splintering bat is a safety issue for other players.
  21. I'm pretty sure at this point that all the different promotion/PR firms in Hollywood just instruct directors to take shots at superhero movies because it's the easiest way to get attention.
  22. Philly is the 4th largest media market in the US and Harper is one of the biggest stars in the game that people love to hate, so I imagine that Philly making it over San Diego isn't hurting the networks feelings too much. They'd obviously rather have the Yankees but Houston is basically the recurring villain of MLB right now.
