@WhitneyWhit, I would never have had the balls to do that. Good for you! *standing ovation*

Either Disney's worried the comics are beginning to hurt the MCU brand or pre-orders of Secret Empire really really suck. Or both. Marvel asks readers to be patient with Hydra-Captain America in official statement (And gives away the ending of Secret Empire?)

Books That Would Make Great TV Shows
scriggle replied to Luckylyn's topic in The TV Bazaar: Assorted TV-Adjacent Talk
Robert Asprin's Myth-Adventure's series. Probably too silly for adaptation since it seems everything has to be dark or gritty or deep these days. It's also very pun dependant but I's love to see Skeeve, Aahz, & Gleep come to life. Then there are 2 fantasy series set in worlds that are matriarchal and feature same sex relationships: Lynn Flewelling's Nightrunner Series and Melissa Scott & Lisa Barnett's Points (Astreiant) Series. I think both of those could work. -
Evans is really underrated as an actor imho. He was very good in both Puncture and Sunshine. Even in the Cap movies there are moments where he does some really incredibly subtle acting. I'm thinking of the elevator scene in Cap2 and the scene of him waking from the ice in Cap1. It's all done with his eyes and slight clench of his jaw.

When I was a kid way back in the 70s, I'd make fluff sandwiches on wonder bread. Adding peanut butter would've made it too healthy. ???

I went to see Gifted today. I was shocked at how many people were in the theater. I counted 40 and this was at the first matinee. The last time I went to the movies was to see Captain America: Civil War (yeah, I don't go to the movies very often), there were maybe 15 people at the first matinee the second week after its opening. Back to Gifted. I liked it. There were a couple of occasions where it brought tears to my eyes. McKenna was very good. Octavia was awesome. Jenny was okay though the whole romance was really unnecessary and thankfully very secondary to the main story. Chris gave a wonderful quiet performance. It's great to actually be able to see his entire face. And god, his eyes. He does so much with his eyes in this. Was it perfect? No, but I can forgive it its flaws. Because Chris was soft and beautiful and luminous and his hair was mussy and floofy. (yes, I'm wallowing in the shallow end of the pool.)

They turned Captain America into a Hydra sleeper agent, Magneto will apparently be a Hydra villain in the upcoming Secret Empire event. This article, Secret Empire #0 Review, sums it up pretty well. Spoilers in the article. A couple more articles here and here.

When I was 4 or 5 years old, my aunt was babysitting me and she let me eat a whole package (I think there were 6 peeps in a package back then). Needless to say they made me sick, puking up yellow peeps. I haven't eaten peeps since.

I had to google that. Somehow I don't think Jeremy is qualified to do that.

John Rogers has said they actually toned the villains/crimes down because, even though they were based on real life, they feared they would be seen as too over the top. -
