  1. Oh wow, it's SO COOL. And reminded me that I used to have one like it except it was white glass. I hope my ex who ripped it off is enjoying it. Eh. Thanks for sharing PW. Much appreciated!
  2. It's never too late! Welcome aboard the Official FJ Contest Score Sheet! The Table43 is the popular table to be this week and you will fit in great there. Woo hoo, we now have 29 players, counting The Pretend Matt Amodio. Hoping someone can drop off a doughnut or bagel to me, all alone at the T40. My can of Spaghetti-Os is almost empty.
  3. I read on Friday that Matt Amodio will be on GMA Monday morning, Oct. 4.
  4. Oh man, I used to write the obits when I was the newbie editor at the business magazine.
  5. For everyone's entertainment and enjoyment, here are my Week 3 FJ answers: 6. Rock Legends. Elton John, because of that movie. 7. The Continents. Asia. Still would have said Asia even if I had remembered Africa. 8. Mythology. That flying winged horse whatshisname. 9. Children’s Literature. Alice in Wonderland is British so ... Snow White. 10. American History. Chicago And that's how you score a perfect zero.
  6. Continuing earthquake talk, I've felt several in Illinois from the New Madrid fault that runs through four states along the Mississippi valley. Largest was a 5.4 which shook the house and made me wonder why buses were running at night until the news explained it the next day. Like @Prevailing Wind, the swaying made me feel woozy and dizzy. A second one some years later had the same effect, it made me dizzy and unbalanced. I wonder why that is. I guess if I lived in California, those earthquakes would make me fall flat on my face. An Illinois earthquake that resulted in damage happened some years ago. So, no place is really safe. While Illinois won't crack off into the ocean, it could sink into the Mississippi. No resulting fires yet though. I watched a Ken-host episode early this a.m. and while I was rooting for him as perm host at the beginning, after getting used to Mayim I didn't like him as much. Odd how getting used to something can change one's mind since I didn't care for Mayim during her guest-host stint. Now I like her better than Ken. Go figure.
  7. Now I want to see your leaded glass lamp. *tap tap tap*
  8. You and @opus need to stop copying off each other's papers.
  9. OMG, I've revealed my ethnic background. LOL! Too funny about your experiences with Stella though. Bosco ... yum, that takes me back to happy memories of my childhood. Thanks for sharing PW. Too funny they are on your fridge, which is, I've discovered, a fav cat roosting place. (Shout out to Warren Zevon!)
  10. WEEK 3 • Sept. 27, 2021 — NO Mattsterisk 6. Rock Legends. A new studio album in 2020 gave him a top 5 album in 6 consecutive decades, his first in 1975. 7. The Continents. It’s the only continent with its mainland lying in all 4 hemispheres as defined by the equator & the prime meridian. 8. Mythology. The Hippocrene Spring, sacred to the Muses, was so named because this offspring of Medusa brought it into being. 9. Children’s Literature. A 2000 Library of Congress exhibit called this 1900 work “America’s greatest and best-loved homegrown fairy tale.” 10. American History. The April 26, 1906 eidition of The Call, a newspaper in this city, reported on the heroic death of hoseman James O’Neil.
  11. Stella would be cow hocked in horse lingo (and dog speak). But yeah, knock kneed works too I guess. When she walks, she must look like she's going in two directions at once from the back. (You need another cat named Stanley.)
  12. Oh SURE @opus, I thought you said you were going to tank this week. You mean I have to eat this can of Spaghetti-Os and meatballs all by myself?
  13. = Chicago fire. So yeah, an instaget for me too. So I was a few years off. Side note: Chicago Fire is the name of a football/soccer team based there. Matt looked exceedingly handsome, dashing and sophisticated in that great suit and tie he was wearing today. Maybe to look his best for his record-breaking win today? If so or if not, well done my man Matt. Brilliant. Shout out to rabbit lovers today. While I've never had a knock-kneed horse, I did know that was the answer, although the horse in that illustration had a serious problem with toeing out too. The single dollar at the end of Matt's total cracks me up.
  14. That relates to the question I often ask here, is it better to grab some answer, any answer, out of the air in the off chance it might be right or put no answer at all and know for a fact you are a screwed loser. I'd grab whatever word floated past me just so I'd have an answer, any answer, and tough toenails to all the online posters who make fun of me. "Hey, I'm on the show, you're not."
  15. Oh, thanks for that. I saw his name in the credits and wondered how he's going to come back from the dead, or the mostly dead. I totally did not recognize him. Of course I didn't recognize Ronald either so there's that. In fact, i barely remember (make that don't remember anything about) what happened on the end of last season. Who was the woman the camera caught being loaded in the soon-to-be-dead cop's car? Was that Ronald's girlfriend from last season? If not, what happened to her. And if so, wasn't there a daughter? I don't even remember Jenny getting shot. And I was a faithful watcher last season. *sigh*
  16. Thank you. I love it, love her, love her clothes. If that makes me 10, that's two years younger than my 12-year-old brain. So yeah, thanks! Andy over at TFJ said Oct. 8 is MR's last day as EP. (So many initials!)
  17. I can see absolutely NO REASON why those kids didn't report the crash and killed guys and the drugs and money to the police. I mean, absolutely NO REASON. It's not like they had anything to do with it. That girl's mom's boyfriend is all kinds of skeevy. I don't even want to watch any part he's in. I didn't recognize Ronald. But his situation looks interesting. Glad this show is back. It's a fun diversion. Can the name of this thread be changed to E1 so others can find it?
  18. LOL. Tell that to all my friends who show Dobermans, and the Doberman club that I work for. Dobes are the 18th most popular AKC breed (out of 197) in the United States. So ... nope. When I saw it my first thought was it would make a great outfit for showing dogs. I'd wear it in a heartbeat to my next show if she wants to pass it along.
  19. Matt doesn't know dog breeds. I will have to take him to a few dog shows. But in his defense, that Doberman photo was just another example of the really crap photos this show comes up with to illustrate AKC-registered dogs. The Dobe shown had a Rottweiler tail. The correct Dobe dock is at the 2-3 joint, Rott dock is at the 1 joint. Plus that Dobe had uncropped ears, which ruins the Doberman's keen expression IMO and makes them look like Coon Hounds. The only way to tell the dog shown was a Dobe and not a Rott was the head. Cover up the head and it could have been a Rott ... or a docked Coon Hound. My FJ answer from last Wednesday was a clue answer today. What goes 'round comes 'round! Congrats to Matt for another win. I've never been so invested in this show and a player, ever. It just brightens my life to watch Matt every day.
  20. Where during one episode the surfers had to teach a former Bach and Bach-ette how to surf. I don't remember who the Bach people were, two famewhores from seasons past, players I instantly forgot after (and sometimes during) their seasons. Jessie was kind of not seen all that much on Ultimate Surfer, kind of like how CH was never seen all that much. So I guess he's a good replacement choice.
  21. I had forgotten about Jon, but a big YES to the above! He was a great addition.
  22. @GreekGeek, Andy over at TheJeopardyFan has nice things to say about your former student Daniel as do some of the posters at the bottom of today's page. Just don't scroll down until after today's show airs or you will be spoiled for today's results. Andy also links to Matt's Twitter where Matt defends his fellow players who trolls are calling "sub par." Matt is very much a class act.
  23. You guys are so hilarious. That's why I love this contest.
  24. I thought Mayim totally stole that interview when she concluded that she didn't know college guys would even have any food in their fridge. Touché and well done, Madam!
  25. Oh @opus, I thought that was a total shout out to you. No offense intended! I thought Daniel did very well, he needs to be proud of his showing. And centaur was a pretty good wrong answer. I knew the answer was a horse of course and for some reason I thought wings was part of the clue but I just couldn't dredge up his name. I could picture him in my mind but he refused to get on my tongue to fly out of my mouth. I am surprisingly pleased with Mayim as host.
