  1. Why have they turned Cedric into such a jerk? He was such a likeable, sympathetic character last season. Now he's a lying ho. I'm really surprised Bronwyn let him get away with not using condoms. Ebony is one of my favorite characters now. She's mature and direct, and she looks out for herself.
  2. What happened in the last few minutes of the episode? My power went out, and the last thing I saw was Liv and Clive looking at the two smokestacks (after we saw Blaine eating that guy's brain). That was near the end, right?
  3. She might be pissed because his overreaction to her "flirting" could expose the nature of their relationship. She wanted to keep their relationship secret, but his jealousy would definitely leave people wondering why he cared so much. Still wrong on her part, but fear of exposure could explain her anger. I am hoping that she comes around and they stay together.
  4. I'm not happy about this either. I was waiting to see them together and this is what we get? We have seen so many hook-ups on this show (Cedric, Eva, Cecil and his prostitute), yet when a couple has an actual relationship (they are friends! they actually talk to each other!), we get to see none of it? That's BS. That being said, I think it's right for BoJohn and Tiesha to break up if she can't handle being in an interracial relationship. There's no point to wasting his time. This show is trying too hard to be scandalous. The plots are all variations of anger, desperate situations, or screwing. I was happy to see Debbie Morgan, too.
  5. I have to use closed captions sometimes during this show, especially when Darius is talking. My favorite moment was the little girl saying "He do got a alligator." It was so real.
  6. Xo was justifiably angry about having to keep Baby all weekend, but I don't get why she's disappointed by Rogelio being self-centered. He has always been self-centered, since day one. It's one of the reasons I dislike the character so much. She shouldn't be surprised by his behavior at all. I thought Ro was taking a break from acting to be a stay-at-home dad.
  7. He has a brother, but they aren't twins. I thought his brother was older and is probably already a Sigma. Speaking of which, can Cedric just join the line at the last minute like that? Seems unfair given how much abuse the other pledges had already taken. I assume that they said they would only take Bryce if Cedric joined too because you could tell Cedric wasn't really feeling it. I'm not liking the character assassination that they are pulling on Eva. Now she's a drug addict? Why? Where did the doctor/lover come from? That storyline is out of the blue. I didn't miss Noni until Sheenieb mentioned her above. They could easily drop that character and her story. I agree with everyone saying there are too many storylines. TBH, all I care about are BoJohn, Tiesha, and the Coach. Did Coach pay back his wife's bookie in the last episode? I can't even remember. The plot with the finances is frustrating. No one is open to any solutions. The board doesn't want to sell property. The students don't want to merge or cut programs because of "heritage." I get it, but that's emotions talking. The reality is that the school is broke. Do they want the school to go downhill and eventually close, or do they want to save it (and their jobs)? It's time to face facts.
  8. I was thinking the same thing. Hopefully, they can reunite. Darker skinned people tan more easily because we have more melanin. I'm brown-skinned, and if I'm outside in the sun for 10 mins, I get visible tan lines. I could really, really do without Angus as a mad prophet. I'm sure Robert Knepper will shine in the role, but the storyline just seems so over the top and unnecessary.
  9. It's annoying that this show keeps humiliating Anika Noni Rose and her character. She's the lead actress on this show. I get it that her character is supposed to be getting lots of disrespect from the faculty, but last season, they had her pole-dancing (in a dream sequence) and now she's feeding an adult baby. Both of those scenes were completely unnecessary. Madison reading Sydney? A thousand times, yes. Sydney seems to be a little girl playing at being a woman.
  10. Yeah, I'm waiting for that hook-up to happen, but I agree, he could do better. Sadly for me, I am not an actress on this show. When LaTrey collapsed, I yelled "He's Patient Zero!" Tiesha is my favorite character. I wonder if a relationship between her and BoJohn will ever happen. I'm not sure if he's ready for her yet. She and I hold similar views on germ avoidance. We cool, but we ain't willing-to-catch-your-virus cool.
  11. I'm not sure what to think about Jane and Rafael. She only changed her mind about dating him when he started kissing her neck, so I'm inclined to think that this is just about her wanting to have sex. I'm not entirely convinced that she really wants to have a relationship with Rafael at this point. If the writers really are putting them together this time, I hope that means the series is winding down because I'm not up for more breakups and make-ups between those two.
  12. I don't get why Noni was so upset about Cecil accusing her. She did it! She reacted like she was falsely accused. Just take your licks and walk out with some dignity. I was surprised that the other band director snitched on her. In other "why you mad" news - Cedric had the nerve to get pissy when Bronwyn accused him of lying? Really? I know she's annoying, but you did lie, sir. Cedric did provide my favorite moment, saying "Who the fuck y'all supposed to be?" to the frat brothers. Why is Sydney being so rude to Teisha? Is there some history there I don't remember? She's going to feel like an ass if/when she finds out that Teisha is the other assault victim who spoke out about Terrence.
  13. Not quite. She says, "I have to do something I've never done before," and the episode ended before she could continue. The preview does make it clear what happens, though.
  14. It got pretty big and white. Heather told him it looked like a staph infection. The woman he liked came back, and Josh offered her a drink. She also said it was a staph infection (she was a nurse). Josh was trying to do a bartending trick and dropped a shaker. The shaker hit him in the face and popped the zit. The pus landed in her drink. That's when she fled in disgust (and horror).
  15. Sarah's ex, the guy in the lab who identified the "twin" that was removed from her patient.
  16. I've heard people say this kind of thing a lot, and I never gave it a second thought. I just thought it was something funny that people say. Now that you mention it, though, it probably does go back to a time when men couldn't be 100% certain about the paternity of their children.
  17. I really need to this show to give a "visible intestines" warning. That was more than I was expecting. Sarah is becoming more annoying. Is the level to which she is challenging Dr. Charles appropriate? I felt like she was overstepping a bit, even though it turned out they were both wrong. Bekker, uggh. So now Connor likes sparring with her? Double uggh. She's just stood there and took credit for his work. The only enjoyable thing about that storyline is Dr. Latham's bewilderment. Yay to Maggie potentially getting some. She is long overdue for a romantic interest.
  18. This reminds of the first time I read The Catcher in the Rye in high school. Somehow I missed that Holden was in a sanatarium. As I was reading the book, I marveled at how much I could relate to the character and how I'd had some of the same thoughts he had. He seemed perfectly normal to me. When we discussed the book in class, I was shocked to find out he was in a hospital due to mental health issues. It made me wonder if there were something wrong with me. I thought we saw Nathaniel's family so that 1) we could see the source of his angst, self-doubt and rigidness, and 2) he could have an emotional breakthrough of his own. The talk with his mom seemed to have "unblocked" him.
  19. April was straight trippin'. Why was Choi asking her opinion in the first place? I have questions: 1. If Natalie's patient was suffering from anxiety and control issues, why didn't she or Will order a psych consult? 2. Are April and Choi dating or are they FWBs? She described their relationship as "sleeping together" which seems dismissive and disrespectful if they are supposed to be a real couple. 3. Can new cardiologist and Robin please just go away? April is a crappy girlfriend. Give Ethan someone better.
  20. I was waiting for this, too. It would have been so easy to say during their two hushed conversations. Too obvious for this show I guess. TBH I wish they'd bring back Choi's GF from the first season.
  21. Charley did have them sign contracts. That was the reason Darla had to leave during the The Big Fight over the will - because a new farmer wanted to sign with Queen Sugar, and Charley asked Darla to do the paperwork. TBH, this episode made me want to stop watching this show. I thought Nova was WAAAAY out of line to block Darla from entering the house. IIRC, Ralph Angel did not kick Darla out. She left on her own. It's better if she goes in when he's not there b/c she didn't know if he was ready to talk to her or not. There's no reason to believe she would do anything wrong while in the house. Nova should have stayed out of it. I was pleased to see that RA was so concerned with Darla. He seemed surprised that Charley had fired her, and I got the sense that he didn't want that. He knew what it meant for her sobriety. Nova and Remy, um ok, whatever. Why is Hollywood even getting a settlement? I know he was present during the accident, but he's not injured nor is he unable to work. I could see getting something like lost wages, but why is he getting such a huge payout? Charley's frustration with the farmers abandoning her, after all she's done, was more than valid. It's a shame that they fell so easily for the rumors. "That's why we can't have anything," as the saying goes. That being said, whatever Charley's trying to cook up with Jacob Boudreaux sounds like a horrible idea. Despite her confidence, she doesn't know what she's doing because she doesn't know whom she's dealing with. She was super-confident about Queen Sugar, too, but it fell apart because she didn't truly understand the circumstances or how far the Landrys would go. You can't play chess when you and your opponent are following different rules. Only two good things happened in this episode: Charley FINALLY dropped Remy, and RA had that very sweet conversation with Blue at the end of the episode. I know this show is Ava's baby, but the writing in this episode had me scratching my head. I saw Kofi's "Thank you" message to the fans on Facebook, and I have new appreciation for his acting. He sounded nothing like RA, which took me aback for a moment.
  22. When I saw Rebecca on the couch, I just figured she never made it upstairs, as though she came in and plopped on the couch and never left it. Plus, in some ways, it's easier to have a sick person downstairs because it closer to the kitchen, bathroom, front door, etc. The couch could have been a device to show how severe her depression was. I loved that Audra Levine was the person to point out that something was up. I wonder if she and Rebecca could have been real friends if they hadn't been forced to compete by their parents or other circumstances.
  23. As horrible as it is that Magda tricked everyone into thinking that Luisa is mentally ill, a small part of me wants Magda to have ownership of the hotel because, out of all the people who have a stake in the Marbella, she is clearly the smartest. She and Anezka purposely had that conversation about Carl so that the assistant would overhear. Magda is an evil genius. I was annoyed, though, that Luisa brought Carl to meet Anezka instead of Rafael. That would have resolved the plot quickly, which of course, we can't have on this show.
  24. That scene with RA sharing the news with the family was so overly dramatic that I almost couldn't watch it. RA and Nova were so damn extra you would have thought they found out somebody died. I know it's a big shock, but their reaction was too much. Also, this will all be moot if they find our Blue really is his kid, which I hope is the case, so they can all feel like jerks afterward. Nova just feels too much for me. I guess I'm getting irritated with her.
  25. I've usually heard it pronounced as Mi-KAY-la.
