I'm not sure what to make of Carter and his guilt or innocence. Since he's so willing to take the plea, I'm inclined to think he's involved, but it could be that Aubrey is the shooter. We already know that he'll do anything to protect her. If Carter were younger, less intelligent, or being heavily pressured by the police, I could see him caving out of fear. He was not being pressured to accept the deal. I'm not even sure if I approve of Aliyah talking him out of taking the plea. If he were truly innocent, I think he'd put up a fight for his own sake and not just for hers. This episode made me feel for Barb. She is so trapped in her bitterness (which was already present before her son was murdered) that she hasn't been able to see the negative perception that she has created. Now she's being attacked. Her son has died, and no one even feels sorry for her because she seems so nasty. During the episode, I kept wondering if Felicity Huffman's facial muscles hurt from making that pissed-off face all the time.

My absolute favorite moment was the look Jack give Zoe after her presentation. The actor nailed - a perfect mixture of disgust, disbelief and disappointment. It made my life. I rewound it three or four times. To me, that look even topped the looks of disgust that Diane gives Charlie.

What were the two hours that Michael gave Nadine supposed to mean? Was it time for her to confess herself, erase the evidence, skip town? I've had enough of Jane's self-righteousness. Once again she harshly scolded her mother for an indiscretion. I guess Jane and Alba missed that part in the Bible about not being a judgmental asshole (paraphrasing). I don't know why Xo tells Jane or Alba anything; they couldn't be less supportive. Why doesn't she have any friends to talk to? I didn't like Rogelio's song - I fast forwarded through some of it. While I do enjoy the character as comic relief, his excessive vanity has always grated on me. I don't understand why Xo would even want to be with him, other than their sexual chemistry. His insistence that Jane call him "Dad" also bugs me, but that situation hits a bit close to home for me.

I was really excited to see Gwendoline Yeo as Richelle. I thought the scene played out very realistically. That's something that happens to Asian-Americans all the time, which is why Richelle was ready for it. Someone like Barb would ask that question first - she'd probably been wondering about it ever since she learned about the fiancée. I just read an advice column in which a woman who is an office manager said that she asks this question of all new hires, for the same reason that vibeology said, just to get to know more about them. One new employee reacted negatively to the question, and she couldn't fathom why it might be considered rude. Some people are racist; some are just clueless. Barb was out of line, but I think the real bad guy in that scenario was the son. He should never have sent his fiancée into the lion's den alone. I kind of think she should dump him after that. She's only known him for a year, and at the first sign of real trouble, he bails on her. Not exactly husband material. Barb might even be right about his motives for dating her.

I think the best prize would be the chance to slap your least favorite character. Not feasible, but I can dream, right?

The actress who played the principal was gorgeous. I'm not sure how I feel about a potential match between the principal and Patrick - he has a bit too much going on right now. I'd hate to have her put in a position to have to help/save him. I was really bothered by MJ crying after being called ugly by some random dude whom she doesn't even know. He is no one, and he's an asshole, and she knows that she's not ugly, so why let someone of no consequence make her feel bad about herself? I know it's just a part of human nature, but at times I feel that women give men too much power over their self-worth. Ignore the critics, especially when they are clearly being malicious. It would have been so satisfying for her to respond to that man by saying "Whatever, you know you want this" and then walking away.

The ending of trial was quite satisfying. Bravo for the judge. I think my favorite moment was Gary nodding in agreement that he and Rosie are, in fact, crappy parents, while Rosie looked completely offended. She lives in a fantasy land.

I applauded after Jane's speech to Rafael. He should never have expected her to agree to his rushed timetable. He should know by now that she's a planner. If he doesn't know that, then he certainly doesn't know her well enough to marry her.

I don't get the logic behind Lachlan's plan with the sex tape. He is on the recording with her, no? So why should it embarrass her and not him? Also, didn't he record it secretly? So, he's the jerk in the scenario, not Petra. She could claim to be the innocent victim of a vindictive ex. I was really bothered by Rafael saying that "Life is too short" as a reason to rush into marriage. That's an excuse people use to do reckless, ill-advised things. Life is also too short to spend time committed to someone you're not sure about. The food truck scene and the massage scene were delightfully cringeworthy! I felt bad for Alba when they were teasing her about the quiz. She was so proud of having found it. Times have changed so much, but her advise was sound. Speaking of Alba, when are they bringing back Cheech?

It was the police - I'm not sure if it was local or the Feds. I'm guessing local, though, since they immediately recognized Teddy. That dude is as dumb as a box of rocks.

Why is Jeff hanging at Layla's house? Doesn't he have a mansion? I'm baffled that Layla is even associating with him, given that he almost caused her death. I'm glad she's doing her own music, but I'd rather Rayna rescind the offer than watch Jeff and Rayna fight over Layla's career.

I loved that sequence. There were two laugh out loud scenes for me: The photo of Michael and Jane's imaginary family, and Rose referring to the delivery man as "basic." I have to give credit to the actor who plays Aaron/Zaz. He seemed like a totally different person as Aaron with a different demeanor and more smiling. I wouldn't have even thought of Zaz if they had not mentioned him.

I have to comment on what a good crier Gina Rodriguez is. The moment when Xo tells her that Alba might be deported, and Jane gasps a little and tears up - that was perfect. She also really nailed the scene in the bridal shop, when she starts crying after finding out that her mom had been lying to her about who her father was.

That reveal was one of my favorite scenes in the episode because I saw a news story recently about a drug kingpin who was finally captured, and it turned out that during the pursuit, he had escaped from his house via a tunnel under the bathtub, exactly like we saw in this episode. I am practical and a pessimist, so although I am happy that Jane and Rafael are together, I agree with her assessment that their differences will cause problems in their relationship. I did think it was really cute, though, when Rafael referred to baby as "our peach" because of what the doctor had said about its size.

I agree with you. What was he supposed to do - stand up and cheer? She thought he would react badly, which is why she didn't want to tell him. He was surprised, and what she told him is going to completely change their relationship as he had pictured it. I don't consider his reaction to be all that negative, but that was the best negative reaction he could have possibly had. The narrator made a point of saying that Michael hadn't reacted that way, but that was two years ago and before she'd been engaged to anyone. What Rose did to Luisa was cruel, but I don't blame her for doing it. Luisa had no right to make a one-sided decision to blow up her family like that. The relationship was over, and they both regretted it. At best her father would have been devastated at having been betrayed by the two most important women in his life. Given what little we seen of him, the dad seems like a nasty guy, so if I were Rose, I'd be worried about my safety if he found out.

I will say that both Connie Britton and Will Chase are very good at fake bad acting.

It's becoming increasingly difficult to watch Luke try to get Rayna to love him. In some respect, Luke is worse than Deacon. He's also been pining for Rayna for years. He's been bitter about Deacon and Rayna's relationship for years. At least Deacon has a past relationship as a basis for his feelings. Rayna was just Luke's dream girl, and now he's bitter because she's not perfect, and she can't just erase her past and be head over heels for him. Rayna's reaction to Deacon's "I love you" was way over the top. He wasn't asking to get back with her. He wasn't asking her to do anything. He was merely stating a fact. He does love her. Even if he "moved on," he would still love her. You don't just stop loving someone, even if you can't be with them. That person will always mean something to you. I think she lashed out because she knows her heart hasn't moved on either. I'm disturbed by the fact the both Layla and Juliette have slept with Jeff after he was so incredibly nasty to them. I realize that with Juliette it was hate sex, but what's Layla's reasoning? He hasn't said one kind word to her before today, and he tried to ruin her career. So now he pays her a compliment and plays the guitar, and all is forgiven?

I'm convinced that Magda is Sin Rostro, based on the meaning of the name, her scheming ruthlessness, and the fact that Disgusting Tom said he was murdered by Sin Rostro, so s/he is someone who's been in the hotel. The police have yet to actually see Sin Rostro, right? So maybe they are just assuming it's a man. I think the wheelchair is just a cover. If she is Sin Rostro, I'm not sure if Petra knows or not. I love the narrator more and more each week. "OMG! It's him, it's him!" was golden. I hope we see more of Nicholas Gonzalez. I don't know why, but Michael's haircut is really bothering me all of a sudden. Additionally, and maybe it's because I'm getting older, but I'm also bothered by how quickly people's clothes come off on TV. I swear Nadine just touched Michael's shirt and it fell open. Where do you buy these magic TV shirts?

I get the impression that Vaughn believes that a traditional marriage means having a wife who attends to his every want and need while having none of her own. That's not the way it goes, unless the relationship is abusive. Not to mention, when he has children, he will cease to be the focus of his future wife's attention. Let's hope he can handle that. ETA: Something just occurred to me. The host asked Jamie and Paul if they are still married, and they said Yes. The truth is, though, that all of the couples are still married. Monet said they can't get divorced until October. I couldn't bear to watch all of Doug and Jamie's interview, but from what I saw, I can't tell if their relationship is legit or not.
