Yeah, that wasn't funny. I thought that plotline would end in the breakroom. Having them really break up was all kinds of wrong. Besides, IIRC, Sandra met Jerry first and he was into her. Carol only pursued him to spite Sandra. So Carol did the "stealing." I was wondering if (hoping?) Jerry accepting the breakup was supposed to be a residual effect from his coma. Who would go along with something like that? Everyone's impressions were great, as was Mateo enjoyment of Cheyenne's Fran Drescher.

After that conversation with Kerissa at Isaiah's parents' house, I'm convinced Zora knows it, too, She told her mom, "The worse thing for me would be if he sees you here." So she knows he's controlling, and she knows she's walking into a bad situation. I think at this point she's only leaving to prove her family wrong. Yes, this. I thought that package would be from him. Her boyfriend is a nice kid, though.

So much goodness in this episode. My favorite scene was Charity jumping out of the car like she was gon' do somethin'... but then she couldn't run in those shoes and that dress. That's okay, though. It's nice to know that Zora's auntie has her back. If Charity had known what was going down at the gate, she would have come correct with her outfit. I applaud whoever writes the dialogue for James and Mae. They are so wonderfully pretentious. Finally moving out of that harridan's lair that pile of saggy cornbread and pantyhose that you gave my money to I also loved Percy's "okay" shrug when James said, "The mothers are handling it." During the Zora incident and afterward, Jacob was comforting his mother, not his wife. So telling. I hope one day Kerissa finds the right man for her.

There is no way Mae should have been able to overrule Kerissa regarding the Hamilton tickets. She and Jacob are the parents. They asked Mae to help them, but she is not the end-all and be-all. When she had the gall to say "Zora can't go," Kerissa should have said, "I'm her mother, I bought her a present, and we are going." The end. The fact that none of Mae's children like her, except Baby Jacob, should be a big clue to her parenting skills. I know I should be upset about Zora leaving to be her with asshole boyfriend, but I don't care much at this point. Some people have to fall on their faces before they learn anything. Her parents have zero ability to control her now. She's in love with Isaiah and keeping them apart only makes her want him more. That's not going to change until she understands how bad he is. We can only hope that her life doesn't end before she realizes her mistake. I just feel bad for everyone involved because it is gut-wrenching to see your child in such a horrible situation.

Mae's reaction during the talk with Iyanla was just cruel. She calls in the big guns to get help for her daughter but then disregards the advice and makes it all about herself. Just appalling. She's shown herself unfit to be a pastor. She doesn't even have compassion for her own children.

That line made me laugh too. I learned the hard way that workplaces need a gender balance.
-
That was my initial thought, too. I think he's either Bonnie's (more likely) or Annalise's.
-
What Annalise said to Asher at end so needed to be said. I'm glad he finally got to hear it. He needs to grow up.

Plus she had sex with Isaiah. Anything resembling reason or good judgement has flown out the window. Her only objective is to get to him and anyone standing in her way is the enemy. I think Lady Mae is too confident in her ability to control Zora. That's a big house, and it's much easier to sneak out without someone noticing. Not to mention that Mae is busy with her own issues.

Kevin is trippin'. He left, without his son, without a word for weeks (months?). Charity has been gone a week, with her son, being a good mother, and he calls the police on her? PUH-LEASE. It's like, he fucked up, now he has to come back hard to prove he's a good dad.
-
I have a crush on Lynn Whitfield. That last scene in Bishop's office just elevated her to goddess level in my eyes. OK, I was on Kevin's side, but having a visit from your new man, that you left your wife for, at the same time that you're demanding to care for your son, is a tad too messy. Yes, Charity is also on tour with her new man, but Aaron is a sore-spot for Charity (even though none of this is his fault). Speaking of Charity and her tour, I cheered a little when Jabari hung up on her. Grace is WAAAY too much up in her parents' business.
-
Kevin was wrong to walk out, and Charity has every right to be angry, but how long is he supposed to pay for his mistake? It's not like he disappeared for 10 years with no contact. It was a few months at most. There's no reason they can't work this out amicably. They both need to drop the attitude. It seems like Tasha and Rochelle crossed wires on Bishop and Lady Mae. Rochelle is trying to come between them, but Tasha said something to make Lady Mae let him come back home.
-
What was that about? It was funny, only because it was out of nowhere, and didn't at all fit the tone of the show. I'm here all day for Karine's pettiness. I have to give Bishop credit for resisting Rochelle. He's a better person than I thought. Jacob shouldn't be in charge of anything, ever. Budget Lady is probably right, and she can cackle herself silly when it all falls apart.
-
Yeah, they just dropped that scene in with no explanation or follow-up. I assumed it was because of Micah. I wasn't sure that the cops weren't going to come back or try to catch RA while he was out in public. It felt like there was a missing scene.

I really want them to work out, but even I'm having doubts. Charley seems like she's not herself with him - like she's being insincere, or perhaps "guarded" would a better way to say it. She doesn't seem 100 percent relaxed with him, whereas he seems like he's being completely open with her. She's acting like a girl in her early 20's would act on first date - awkward, unsure of what to say, and almost shy in a way we've never seen from her. She didn't act that way with Remy or even Jacob. I'm not really sure what to think. She doesn't seem as into him as he is into her. She keeps seeming shocked whenever he shows up. After the kiss, she looked like she was either surprised that she liked it or she couldn't decide if she liked it or not. Maybe her experience with Remy has made her more cautious? That would be understandable. I like Romero, and I don't see anything wrong him. It just seems like Charlie's not ready yet.

I've been pondering the irony of Yasir getting into a fistfight over a prayer rug. SMDH. I'm still perturbed that he didn't just walk out when he saw Ruby having sex in *her* living room. He just stands there, laughing to himself, and then mocks the guy, as if he's somehow better than him. Such an ass. If I'd been with a guy for less than a month, and I saw him flip out on his ex (who's raising his child) like that, that would have been the end of our relationship. If she'd been abusing their son, his reaction might have been justified, but over some classes? Nope, nope, nope. All I would think is "If that's how he treats her, how will he treat me?" TBH, his mom even tried to warn Nuri off. That's the worst sign possible. I assume the show creators thought showing us future Nuri and Yasir would make viewers more accepting of the younger versions, as if to say "See, it all worked out in the end." Sorry, I'm not buying it.
-
So I see that arrogant dudes are Nuri's type. The only time Yasir is friendly and respectful to other men is when he's marking his territory around Nuri. Of course, then he's being phony to show that he doesn't feel threatened by them. That fight with Ruby's playmate was out-of-the-blue and so unnecessary. He couldn't get his rug in the morning? The guy shouldn't have gotten in his face like that, but Yasir should never have knocked on that door. That was straight-up rude. I'm kind of tripping on the fact that Sean was the best-behaved male character in this episode. Why, oh why did she keep the ring? For 20 years? I won't be watching this next season. I've had enough of Yasir.

I thought the same. I'm not sure how I feel about that them getting back together, and we all know Vi's going to raise holy hell and try to prevent a reconciliation. I am happy to see them maturing. At the very least, they can become good friends and co-parents.
-
I think he had a right to be upset. His behavior, though, was over the top. Silent treatment, then guilt tripping her and using his friends' rapes as an excuse was too much. Him calling her repeatedly was also too much. Referring to it as "showing love" doesn't make it any less obnoxious. My issue with Yasir isn't his lack of funds. It's his shitty attitude, haughtiness, and sense of entitlement. Nuri twists herself in knots to appease him. Once again she was crying over him. How many times has it been? She was right when she said "Love shouldn't be this hard." I really did not appreciate the show using the molestation storyline as a way gloss over all of Yasir's previous actions. It was manipulative.

I'm over Vi this season. I didn't like her over-the-top criticism of Nova. Nova had it coming, but Vi was late to the party. The situation was over, Nova was repentant, and she and Charlie had reached a detente. When she referred to Remy as "sloppy seconds," she lost me. I *hate* that phrase. This was a time when Vi should have minded her own damn business. All she did was bring up old shit and make everyone uncomfortable. Nova and Charlie are adults. Aunt or not, she does not get to know and give her opinion about EVERYTHING they do. I have an aunt like that. She and I don't talk anymore. Seriously, why is she demanding that her family come work at her business and help plan her wedding? She's telling a woman in her 40's "Get off that phone!"? Naw. You want to run a business while you're chronically ill? Get a full staff and pay them. Your nieces and nephews have their own lives. Part of me wants Charlie to just say "Fuck all y'all" and go back to L.A. I would have been so mad if Charlie had said no to the chicken mole. I love that dish.
-
Yeah, I don't think the sister played Charlie. I think they both got played, and the sister knew that their hands were tied. Hopefully, the sister is plotting something else. Speaking of lopsided, why is RA's mouth always twisted up? It was really noticeable in the close-ups during the mediation hearing. I know I'm being petty, but I'm bothered by how they are directing Kofi Siriboe this season. The whispering, the twisted mouth - it's all making RA more annoying than he already is.
-
I almost can't take anymore of this show. Yasir is too much, and there's Nuri, willing to lap up and be a part of his bullshit. Even modern-day Yasir is too smug for me. I'm so glad that his mom told to have several seats because he wouldn't have listened to it from anyone else.
-
My first thought was, "Aren't there cameras in there?" I would think that a shooting range would have plenty of security cameras.
-
She told him to call her Carol.
-
Honestly, I'm not sure how I'm supposed to feel about this couple. Are we supposed to like Yasir? Are we supposed to like he and Nuri together? The foundation of their relationship is shaky. She's feels inferior to him, so she's not honest about what she wants. He feels inferior so he acts like an arrogant know-it-all. I guess we're supposed to applaud the whole thing when we see modern-day Nuri and Yasir and they are so lovely-dovey, but I'm side-eyeing the beginning of their relationship.
