David pays rent. And he said he just got on with a new job, plus his family just closed their bar/restaurant. He may not have taken a paycheck for awhile, he may have been paying off debt racked up while they figured out what to do with the family business, etc. His new job could be a lot better paying, so he'll replenish his savings. In today's economy, a lack of savings is not a major surprise, unfortunately. Prices of EVERYTHING have skyrocketed.

Yes, cliffhangers work when you can watch 3 or 4 episodes in a row-- you get to know the players better, you can see strategies in play, or you can wait a month and binge it all. On broadcast TV like this, the cliffhangers just take away from the tension and they even announce the eliminated person before you even know who they are (at least early on!). Also: enough with the jewel "nobody has ever stolen one" box challenge!

I am watching, but after a week I no longer remember/care about the "cliffhangers" of who is the Anonymous and who is out. A week between episodes does not work for this format.

The crazy this week! Missing cars, missing roomies, husbands not supporting wives, landladies spilling tea in the freezer section, the ponies!! And next week a ventriloquist job interview! 😍😍 -

I was YELLING at the TV over that. Learn body parts, people!! -
Sorry I'm so late to this party but my mama was late picking me up, then she had to get my brothers ready because I am too important to help. I am the queen of this rodeo, dontcha know! Sad that there was no salami rose when I finally showed up. Guess no one had a wine glass for this treat for a princess.

I feel like the couple/pair who had only done one previous reno was cast as cannon fodder, ie for drama. Dislike! -

Seems to me that allergens, religious restrictions, and medical conditions should be accommodated. I don't know how to factor vegans into that, though. But restricting pork products for Muslims and Jews, yes. Diagnosed celiacs? Yes. Self-diagnosed gluten intolerance? Nope. Personally, I think for-profit prisons should NOT be a thing! Saving dollars with no fresh fruit or vegs, for example, just pushes costs down the line with increased medical care, something that likely doesn't come out of prison budgets. Yeah, nobody found guilty and sentenced should get better meals than school kids or soup kitchens.... but moldy bologna and bread, that ain't it. -
Inmate To Roommate - General Discussion

I do love this show... do none of these people talk about rules, boundaries, expectations before they agree to the living situation? Or is everyone so into their own agenda that they just say yes & think it will all work out? I hate that there are no re-entry support systems in place for either party. Not even a plan for "best practices" -- the teacher who wanted his new roommate to go to a protest before he even sees his home was CRAZY! Also.... BACON!! I thought the former inmate showed restraint with just bacon in the burrito and one side of bacon. 🥓 😜 -

Not Captain Glenn from Sailing Yacht? He seems to be around still. Was there another Glenn? -
Yeah.... most of these folks aren't going to make it. The 3? 4? Black folks they are sending are doubling the Black population of the jail. Unsure of the Latino. Blonde bail bondsman is going to get shivved day 2, and I'll cheer! Let the fuckery begin!

Ditto to so much that has been said here! The right team won, boo for bare curved wall with janky island table crowded into it, yay for a dumb waiter (oops, showing my ago, I mean a 'grocery lift'), and the twins' room needed half the accessories removed. I hate that Keith and Evan toned it down so much!

Listen..... any discussion of Lauren & Orion's hot tub talk that DOESN'T include O admitting to using the N word, and doesn't include his statement about "I've experienced racism twice in my life..." is some straight-up manipulative BS!!! and the show went downhill from there... -
If my boyfriend ever said to me "I could forget you in 2 days!" I'd be all "Bet." and be outta there. There is no, none, ZERO chance of coming back from that. EVER.

S35.E03: No Sleep and a Million Dollar Dream
TeapotWakeen replied to Whimsy's topic in The Amazing Race
I literally LOLed when Phil told Rob (and Corey) that they were Team Number W.* It made me feel better about some of my misspeaking moments, and it was just a nice moment. * in ASL, the #3 is made with the thumb, index finger and the middle finger. The letter W is made the way Phil did (index, middle, ring fingers) -
That confused me at first, too, but then I realized that only one guest was vegan. Between the accents, the drama queens, a cap'n whom I hate... I may just have to bail on this season. Ugh!!

Yeah, rewatching it now too. I just keep yelling at the screen "the prescription is ON THE BOX!" I mean, when you fill a Rex, they take the script. And, if the photo was taken 3 days ago, then clearly Malia broke some MARITIME LAWS too by not reporting it right away. But, most of all, FFFF Sandy for making Hannah's firing all about HER. Soooooo self-centered and selfish!

they're making stuff up as they go along, this show is a hot mess!! Doesn't Russell have the same amount of money as Tara? 10k from the mast challenge, plus the 10k they all took? Did I forget some other bit of money he (and only he) got? And Maddie made reference to "spending a month "here" doing this" but it's like day 13 on the raft? Wasn't it last episode where the screen said "day 11"? I was shocked to see that, given all the conflict and drama about not getting along! Guess not everyone has lived in a dorm or gone on a family vacation or group trip. I know space is limited, but sheesh, be adults and take the boat for a float or go to a corner and fake meditate, whatever! infuriating!!

90 Day: The Last Resort
TeapotWakeen replied to Shrek's topic in 90 Day Fiancé: Other Spinoffs & Specials
Why is no one mentioning the possibility of depression to Kelly? His triple transition (retirement, new geographical location, new relationship) is HUGE HUGE HUGE. Any one of those alone could be a lot to deal with, but it really seems like no one is acknowledging that mental health has been impacted for everyone by the pandemic (it's been... a lot!) but possibly extra for him. it was actually kind of heartwarming seeing Michael and Angela having fun together. I still think she has no business having her abusive ass on TV, but whatever. -
iDK, do you think Summer 1 and LaShonda would agree? It pisses me the hell off that Merissa can say she felt fearful of LaShonda but volunteer to go on the raft with her, then get everyone to vote off L instead of saying "how can we work through this together?" Like, you know, adults. I think the editing is focusing more on the money and plotting than the "social experiment designed to put people together to see if they can get along." (and then stacking the raft racially)

Why did they start out with so many white people? why are the persons of color relegated to replacement status? If they had lost one of the blonde women in the first episode instead of the Black rabbi, would they have replaced her to start with the same number of people? The first swap was Summer, because they didn't have enough blonde females.... we are not learning a lot about what makes the people on the raft "hand-picked to differ" other than some privilege and SOME cultural issues. Ugggggh, this show could have been so much more!
