  1. Wasn't she an alcoholic as of season 2 though? I thought in the episode where the died it was made pretty clear she was an alcoholic? Which was earlyish on in the show from my memory.
  2. Me too. I don't think it was the best ever but not bad. And I think a product of issues - I think this happened with the writer's strike so no rewrites could happen. Plus, Mulder/Scully together. I've seen worse movies. I also like Chinga - maybe for the Mulder phone calls. I could see Stephen Kings influence but yeah - it was slightly ridiculous. I like X-Cops. It just makes me laugh - particularly Edy and Steven. I like a lot of season 7 though.
  3. I don't find it an either/or. I don't like either ships - and no to upset anyone - but I don't get Morgan/Reid. I just don't see or would understand a relationship with Hotch and the sister of the wife killed by a serial killer he was hunting. Just nope. In Season 11 I would like to see a return to the old-style CM. More focus on the work, less shootings and much less personal crap. Particularly romantic stories because they have never done them well.
  4. I don't know - I didn't mind it that much? I thought it had some good moments - Nigel working his way through Viking angels running away after being kicked by Xena, Eve losing her shit, Ares/Aphrodite etc. And Nigel was supposed to be greatly annoying - that was the whole point as a mocking of 'tabloid documentarians' ala those on Today Tonight/A Current Affair. I certainly don't rate it as the worst of season 6 and find it better than some others - Married with Fishsticks for example.
  5. Do you mean the clones in the AU episodes or the clones of Xena in the series? Soul Possession seemed to be a weird one - that was the one in the 6th season yeah? When someone had brought it to the attention of the writers/whoever that there wasn't an explanation for Gabrielle surviving the Hope Fall? Cause that was weird and not needed - I think they had skated over that enough (they shoulda done the Sappho clone instead IMO)
  6. Sister-in-law Jessica? No no no. Absolutely gross. No. A great familial relationship - sure. Anything else - twisted. And unecessary - I'd rather a story about their effective co-parenting at this point but anything romantic - NOPE
  7. I really like One Against An Army. I know most hate it - but I love it. I think maybe seeing it young and seeing Xena and Gabrielle back together after the Maternal Instincts/Bitter Suite rift arc plus having it be everything Xena is (One woman taking down an entire army - and the best one ever seen) in one single episode - with a little bit of humor at the start and a lot of love betweeen the two ladies. I don't know I just love it and often watch it when I am sad. That and Warrior.Priestess.Tramp. Also, I know most hate it and it isn't the best episode ever but I do love it because it is just funny. This should maybe go to an Unpopular Opinions thread though.
  8. No?! When - What? I need to rewatch anyway but can you point it out? Otherwise - I agree with most of your points. I really missed Nichols. She had great interactions with everyone, was funny. I really hope she is back in season 4. There was a lot going on - but after the couple of episodes after she was shipped I did notice and I really missed her. I don't care for Bennett/Daya because it bores me but I do hate Dyaa's mum even in light of the backstory she got - she is still awful all around. But I do like SoSo - she grew on me this season. I could see being depressed in prison and felt for her that no one liked her and there was no easy group that she slotted into. Also - having her hair cut off while she slept by an ex-crackhead- awful. I liked that Poussey stuck up for her and I do hope they make it. I really hate Healy and I hope Red is using him. I also love how Doggett has changed, vs her in season 1 and think Taryn Manning is good enough to get away with such a change in character. I hope her and Boo help Mariza next season with that awful guard.
  9. I am not Rory's biggest fan post-season 4. But I don't like the idea that she should be feeling the most guilt out of the two for sleeping with Dean. At the end of the day, Dean was the one making the promise to Lindsey and Dean was the one who broke it. And by what she said - Dean took the ring off before they slept together - without knowing the intimate details how was Rory to judge? Was she supposed to call Lindsey first? Who is to say she didn't notice the ring - or rather she did and asked about it - and Dean came up with some 'I guess I forgot to take it off woe-is-me crap'? Ultimately - Dean is the cheater. And Rory/Lindsay didn't share a scene together alone so you can always fanwank it like she did apologise. I assumed the Lorelai/Rory vs Lindsey/Lindsey's Mum was done to show Lorelai/Rory together after a summer apart and before the rift. And at least the show didn't have Lorelai gushing over it as the best thing ever and rather pointed out how bad it was and how Dean was a lying liar who lies (which is as bad as it gets for this show). I just think the majority of the blame (like 99%) lies with Dean here. Rory can be an ass, but I think maybe less culpable than is held to account for I think. Ultimately, I think it is sad that all the young girls on the show were shown to either have made bad decisions or thought they did or became pregnant after their first sexual experience. Rory, Paris, Lane. Sad. (I assumed Lorelai and Chris had been having it off at least a few times before pregnancy but I could be wrong). I don't know if it was a network-mandated thing - but on the whole it is really sad. Possibly Bunheads did it slightly better in their final episode and the Michelle-Ginny conversation but that is probably for a different thread...
  10. ...Excuuuuuuuse you - she was the daughter of a serial killer - as IF there was anyone else able to give the BAU the precise, damning and qualified assessments of the serial-killer-of-the-week despite her not yet being through basic training! Duh... (Just wanted to qualify that was absolute sarcasm AND that I have nothing against Rachel Nicols AND I completely abhor the way she was treated/fired on Twitter AND have so much sympathy for the fact she was yet another victim of the CM writers plus network interference vis-a-vis the Paget-AJ-Firing to hire a young blonde to match the spinoff which made everyone hate her AND...jeez, this damn post-season-5 show. But I hold nothing against the actress and ALL of it against the show's writers and especially the network).
  11. Outnumbered. British comedy. Hilarious. The kids were awesome, parents awesome. Much much funnier than I expected. I have even recommended it to people I know. It is great!!!
  12. It was a morning show news anchor- Karl Stefanovic on the Today Show in Australia. And yes - my point exactly. And for what it is worth, I have worked in a number of different fields and the women with me wore suits, pants and skirts. I've seen receptionists in pants and skirts and waitresses in pants and skirts. I've seen doctors cops and lawyers in skirts and in pants. It doesn't make a difference - it doesn't make them a better worker. I just can't believe this is an issue or even a way people still think. Also - I hate dresses and will never wear them ever - but if I had to I really liked the one Elizabeth wore at the Canadian shindig. But that might be because it had pockets. I appreciated that. Changing the subject - what do people think of her leadership style? Sometimes I think impulsive, sometimes not. I think she'd be better with a better staff. Or if her staff acted like they had worked in the public service for longer than 5 minutes. I don't really knows why some are still there - particularly as it has been sometime since their boss died (who was a traitor).
  13. I find this whole idea disgusting. This is't the 1950s. Wear skirts, wear pants - who cares? How about you present yourself well, know your shit and do your job? I think we would do a hell of a lot better if we stopped policing what women wear and actually focused on what they are doing. This whole train of thought here about women should be in skirts just really pisses me off - it is just so antiquated. And to be back on topic - pretty sure Mdm Sec has worn skirts and pants and has not lost any authority depending on what she was wearing.
  14. agreed 100% abc family should apologise. I'm just saying I don't blame the show for providing the quote in the episode. If that makes sense. Misuse of a quote shouldn't be put on the show when the network does it - and lets face it, the show has enough issues at the moment.
  15. Sure. I think there are two points: 1) The post was bad and offensive and should not have been done. Call her a her or A. There is no takebacks and that quote shouldn't have been used. That is/can be construed as transphobic and is connecting a gender identity to someone who doesn't identify as that gender. BUT 2) In context of the episode in which that quote aired - in that episode I don't agree that was transphobic as none of the characters either knew or suspected A was a transgendered person. And neither did the audience for that matter because no clues were given. I don't consider that transphobic. Possibly part of an issue with the reveal but not inherently transphobic. For me, that means, while the quote viewed in that episode is not transphobic - not even subconsciously - because no other information is given. But the social media posting WAS transphobic and that should definately be called out (as it has been).
  16. I would add to that list - Spencer/Caleb Emily Caleb Mona/Caleb Caleb/Ezra Mainly because I love Caleb as a de-facto 5th liar and I love it when he and any of the liars are together. I'd also love to see a scene with him and Mona because of his visceral hatred of her. Similarly - I can't imagine he is ok with Ezra for stalking Hanna and he didn't seem impressed with him in 6x01 and that should definately be explored because, well, that is how I feel.
  17. Speaking as an Aussie - there is no way a Virginian sounds Australian. Although I actually got asked if I was Austrian when I was in LA so I guess it is possible some people just don't get accents/know countries.
  18. I don't mind that scene for three main reasons - I think Paget Brewster was able to make it sound nicely teasing (friendly even) without judgement (unlike Seaver for example), that Emily and Reid had a team/friendly relationship where that kind of thing wouldn't be misconstrued (like her acknowledging his issues in season 2 to his face - unlike other team members or the Waco rip-off with Luke Perry) and I get that perspectives are to each their own but I didn't think that he took it seriously or was hurt by the comment. I think it is a nice contrast to the way that kind of thing is usually dismissive. Similarly - in the tattoo episode, when Prentiss and Morgan get Reid to do all the reading - I didn't think it was malicious on Prentiss' part but more like something friends would do. But that might just be me. Also, coming over from I think Unpopular Opinions - while I don't think Reid is a secret Cassanova I don't like the idea he is a virgin AND I rewatched the first season episode with the actress-with-a-stalker and I don't think that episode plays it like that. He totes knows what he is doing.
  19. I agree with the above two answers - I think Spencer is smart AND is the one that pushes herself to be (unlike Hanna, who for whatever reason is smart but doesn't seem to have been very school focused). In saying that, Hanna is a lot smarter than Spencer at people it seems...well, except Mona. But the problem is that if PLL had the liars acting with full smartness - there wouldn't be that much of a mystery. Otherwise, Spencer and Mona would have teamed up a long time ago and brought an end to the shennanigans. (Also, Mona is obviously the smartest and has access to the required technology - based on that she could have solved everything post-Radley thing, if set loose). Its the trap of a serialised mystery that goes on longer than planned - it can make the protagonists look like morons. They did it better in the first couple of seasons by seemingly rationalising why the girls wouldn't go the cops - they got burned too many times and at least in Spencer and Aria's case they didn't trust their parents. At least with Spencer she does target the people that are looking the most guilty at the time - which is plot required. But yes, I do like the running joke that no one she picks is right. Or is right until the next episode and is redeemed. Plus, Troian makes it funny in a way, which makes it mostly bearable.
  20. Maybe sometimes an 'unfollow' on social media is just an unfollow and doesn't mean anything and shouldn't be read into though
  21. I really don't think that is true at all. A vast majority of the posts about the last episode commented on the unrealistic aspect of the sex being both enjoyable and trauma-free. I'd suggest the fans remember Callie was raped more than the writers do. But I don't quite get what you mean with the last part - Brandon didn't rape Callie and I think the show is clear about that. I think unfortunately the show will continue to go back to the Callie/Brandon well for drama. At this point I am watching for the Mums and Mariana.
  22. Where did you read this? Was it in the above article?
  23. I agree with you. I think though, that the doctor might have made a mistake and we will see later that Stef is told it was either a false negative or a mixed up result. I can't see any other reason why they would have jammed it into the finale. And also, I don't think Stef would lie about that kind of a thing. Stef withholds things but isn't an out-an-out liar to Lena. I also don't think Stef becoming a detective would result in her mother hanging around - and there hasn't been any reason to believe she was going for a promotion. I am wary of the storyline because it will result in her living (unless Teri Polo wants to leave the show) but between her and Sherri Saum it will at least be well acted. And it has to be Stef with cancer because Lena had the late-term miscarriage (in show terms, that means the other is up for the next health issue). Unless I guess Stef's mum has cancer? But unlikely (even though Annie Potts is awesome)
  24. I have issues with this only because the Liam thing is not like either Brandon or AJ. From the sounds of the story Callie was several years younger than she is now AND the show was clear that Liam groomed the hell out of her. It was why the story of his current foster sister resonated with Callie and made her want to do something - because it was what happened to her, there was nothing sexual about his actions at that point and she knew what would happen to that girl. Otherwise, I agree with you about intense teenage relationships that fizzle out fast - Brandon/Callie would be over in a hot flash. But I don't think Callie is reliving Liam over and over again - otherwise her relationship with Wyatt would have been very very different That said - Brandon/Callie and AJ/Callie can be compared because all are the same age and there is nothing abusive going on. And I thought they both clicked. If forced to choose, I prefer Callie/AJ because there is no legal sibling relationship and they have something, other than the Foster-Adams - to connect to eachother (i.e. foster-kids plus a love of a brother). I also hate what the producers have said about them being star-crossed lovers. That is crap. They are two 17/16 years olds. Nothing lasts at that age - except in special circumstances. I hope the story soon ends with them realising it isn't a good thing and that being adopted/siblings is for the absolute best. Also, I feel it in my waters that Stef's breast cancer thing was a false positive - meaning I think she will end up with cancer but I don't think she lied to Lena about it. I think doctor mix-up. Otherwise - it was way too random for an already packed episode.
  25. Personally, I don't ship any of the team together at all - minus Emily and Jordan (if I had to - and that is when pressed). I just think it isn't the best idea to 's*it where you eat' - this show has enough problems with the writing without adding inter-team romantic/sexual relationships into the mix. But also, I find it kind of sad to figure Reid was and/or is still a virgin. I don't think there is any indication of it textually - because in the first season LA episode it seems like he knew what he was doing with that actress with a stalker. I think it is sad that just because it is assumed he it 100% awkward in every single way that it means he isn't getting laid. I'd prefer to think he is getting laid by a number of well-intentioned women and/or men attracted to him because he is Reid. For what it is worth, I think Reid/Elle is very similar to Reid/Emily - in that all parties are smart and mature enough to respect the other person's attributes and commiserate/challenge the other person's issues. Those two - apart from the vigilante and Interpol storylines - would have had me believing that them and Reid could have had lasting, healthy relationships, which is definately unchartered waters for this show.
