I didn't see Benedict as anything other than surprised to see those guys together like that. He didn't run off TO have a threesome, he was making out with one girl when the other literally tapped him on the shoulder. It wasn't his plan to show how straight and manly he was or anything. I really thought Granville was going to hit on him in that moment where he had his hand on his shoulder. And I thought Benedict might go for it too, honestly.

Yeah, so who cares if Colin would have been happy. I feel for Marina, but she's not the victim here.
-
She is definitely in the wrong, but I don't think either of them see it as rape. They do later have an exchange that makes clear that he doesn't trust her, and her him either really. And neither of them ever apologizes. They are both stupid.

I to am tired of the "unconventional" person being the gay/queer one in the family. Can't someone be different in one way but not another? Can't the perfect little sister be the one who might like girls instead and Eloise just be not that interested in romance for the sake of it? She's not even 18 yet, so not being excited about being sold off into marriage and risking her life to have babies makes perfect sense, whether she's straight or not. And liking to write does not make a person a Bluestocking. That is an entirely different thing having to do with devotion to learning and interest in education. I saw no sign of any of that.

I don't think Pen is trying to keep Colin for herself, she's trying to keep him from being trapped for the rest of his life with someone who is lying to him and using him. Divorce wasn't exactly something you could just get back then. He couldn't have regrets and just leave her. He would be stuck with her, or at least paying for her household and her child, for the rest of his life. Penelope should have been straighter with Colin about Marina's intentions instead of writing about it in Whistledown, but I don't know if she really had much of an opportunity to do so. She couldn't be sure that he'd read a letter from her, or see her, between the time she found out about Gretna and the time he ran off. She could be DAMNED sure that someone in his family would read Whistledown first thing in the morning and have more of a shot of stopping him. I understand taking Marina's side with how she's trapped and the wrong done her by Penelope, but it's not Pen vs. Marina here, it's Marina vs. Colin. I'm on his side.

That is an excellent point, and what was his plan if Daphne accidentally got pregnant from the pull out method? Was he going to deny he was the father? Push her down the stairs? AND how was he planning to explain it to HER if she got pregnant from that? Simon was a moron.

I want the Bar Cynster books to be done.
-
I don't understand the anger at Penelope. She tried being subtle, she tried flat out telling Marina not to do it. The only thing she could have done differently was to flat out tell Colin that Marina was pregnant. She should have probably done that, but I think she was afraid to.

I wasn't fond of the Queen Charlotte casting until I realized what they were doing with the show and then it made sense. I don't mind any fictional person being any race under the sun, but I do wish for real people to be cast accurately. I want Middle Eastern Jesus, African American Malcolm X and actually Mongolian Kublai Khan. Like I said though, they are using a rumor about a person and creating an alternate world where that is established fact, and that works quite well here.

I honestly don't see that character that way at all. Also, the black matriarch type character is probably the best character of the entire series.
-
Simon's appeal to the Queen was awesome. My roommate was watching with me and said, "Well hell, I'll marry him.". I died laughing at him.
-
Simon definitely lied. He could have told her the truth, but he didn't. He could have corrected her when she brought up how upset she was for him that he was "unable" to have children, but he didn't. He knew perfectly well that she had no clue whatsoever about sex, and he used that innocence to his advantage and treated her like a dim child (which is creepy as hell since he was doing it to manipulate her sexually). Daphne took agency away from her husband. She figured out his true motives and she absolutly did something violating of his wishes. She could have confronted him. She could have asked him about it. But she didn't. She decided to hurt him back instead. In the game of "who's the asshole" they both win.

Spoilers and Speculation: Clink Boom and Cheese Fondue

At least it's less squicky that Scott/Ava. Not that they didn't have chemistry, but he was working HARD to get his son's ex into bed. -

Unpopular Opinions: "I hate BLTs from Kelly's!"

I feel like they pushed Julian out in order to make room for Cyrus to be a more permanent character, and that annoys me. -

Amnesiac Sonny COULD be interesting, but this is still GH, so it won't. -
She's on the Rookie still I think.

as someone who is SBC I think the submission of the wife is seen much to strictly by both the crazy pants and some outside observers. We argue with our husbands, they defer to our judgement and we can make decisions as partners. None of this crazy eyes Michelle Duggar stuff. Headship isn't the be all end all of the relationship. Some women feel that way, and some marriages work that way, but that's across a large swath of people and not confined to a specific denomination. There are congregations that are more strict than others, but that is also not confined to SBC.

I have issue with the finger pointing and name calling because it's so easy to accidentally paint innocent people with the same brush. Having an easy term to label people means it is so much easier to accidentally point at someone who has done all the right things and call them a "covidiot" and move on. Put some effort into the derision and you might be more accurate.

If working for others is bad then Jeremy is on the wrong career path. Preachers work for their church, that means that they are beholden to the board and/or the congregation.

I will remember to pack slippers the next time I go over to my sister's house, lol.

why is not wearing shoes indoors gross? wearing shoes inside is not sanitary at all.

I'm pretty sure that they see courtship as a kind of contract, so in that context it makes sense.
