  1. I suspect this genealogy DNA stuff will come to be accepted as "air tight" just like regular DNA matching is now. I watched a few episodes of that Genetic Detective show on ABC which goes into a lot more detail of how it works and it's just (complicated) science. But right now it does seem kind of science fictiony. I feel for the relatives who do not want to believe a loved one could have violent secrets, but there is no other way his DNA gets on her dress. His reaction when the detective shows up is not evidence, but his lack of shock or confusion was telling. I am extremely stoic myself, but if the coppers showed up out of the blue and told me my DNA was found at a murder scene, I would be like ...."Whosis what now?!" I do hope someone took in that little lovebug kittycat.
  2. I will be the big sourpuss, I HATE the changes. Didn't enjoy Carla on Top Chef, tolerated her as a judge here, but don't want her as host. She's not witty or charming, just loud and goofy. John had the perfect personality and sense of humor for this show. I just lost Tom Bergeron, now this! Hate having only one challenge. It's not enough to hold my interest for the whole show. (Plus, even with the extra time, most of the bakes were still not very impressive!) It you are going to do away with something, do away with the stupid twist! But no, now we have 2 twists! And furthermore, I don't want to watch bakers search for knives! Okay, I'm done. : D I hope the changes are covid related and are not the new format for all the Baking Championships.
  3. This documentary is not nearly as good as Leah Remini's Scientology series which really lays shit bare for you in detail, including the dollar figures involved. And the interviews are gut-wrenchingly real, versus these reinactments. But I am still riveted! General Hospital did a storyline based on NXIVM last year so it is also interesting to me from that perspective. I went to a couple classes given by a group called Omega back in my 30's. I was rather open spiritually and had some pretty woo woo friends. Anyway, in the Omega class the manipulation of everyone's energy was amazing. They were yelling at us one minute and had people bawling into each others arms the next minute. I found it fascinating. My vigilance was fully operating and had moved me to a place of detached observation, but they really got most of the people worked up and excited. I think for a lot of people, just being in a room and connecting with other humans on a deeper level can be extremely intense and energizing. It's not often one get to express themself on that kind of an intimate level. You are feeling heard and connected and accepted, and it can really be a buzz and make you want more. ...which is the point! Cuz then they want you to sign up for more classes! RIGHT NOW!!! I wasn't parting with any money, and I did not care for some of the more manipulative things they were doing, so I peaced out. But I can see how people get sucked in.
  4. The endless expiring of Mike is entering comedic territory. I was waiting for the janitor to pop into the room to tell Sonny what a great son he is. God help us there will probably be a huge funeral featuring this same bunch droning on and on about how special ..Sonny is. In other news, is anyone watching the HBO documentary on NXIVM. That guy is not anywhere near as hot as Shilo, but he is way creepier.
  5. Tyra just has no wit or charm, which Tom has in spades. It quickly became obvious how much that added to the show and I immediately started FFing Trya's boring intros and chats with the contestants. I mostly remember Anne Heche for "Men in Trees", which I loved, so go Anne! Pasha should have been given Skai. Their sizes are perfect for each other. Alan just had a ringer last season. So damn unfair!
  6. Dear Corinthii, in case you are not aware, it is perfectly fine just to sit with Mike and hold his hand. You do not have to blather on and on about how he is barely breathing and tell him all your narcissistic fantasies about all the times he will miss complimenting you.

I was actually pretty proud of Sascha. Just after the semis, I said that this I why I could never root for him, cuz you never know what you're gonna get. So when he came out playing his A game straight off, I was impressed. Then in the third set he choked ...then in the fifth he got himself together ...then he choked again in the final tie break ...then he cried ...then he thanked his team and told them he was improving and would continue to do better. I can't ask for much more from a 23 year old. I also loved that he came right over to his friend Dominic, did their secret handshake and embraced him before he indulged in his devestation.

Jesus God... ... I need a drink! Cheers and respect to both these young men.
  9. I have to agree about the military. They let all kind of abuses occur, until a spotlight is shown on them, then they give lip service. Whether it's hazing or abuse of gays or women. It seems like if you lift the lid on just about any organization of humans, there is always abuse and violence ...and apathy/coverup about it. Ugh.

Thiem/Med was like power and determination against a steely chessmaster. I kept waiting for Med to put some brilliant new plan into action, but nothing he did made much of a difference. Thiem was positively pulsing with "I WILL WIN" energy, so I knew there was no way he was going to lose. Med even remarked about this in his interview. I think Med needs to hire Zverev's fitness coach and put on 20 pounds of muscle like Sascha did. He's gonna need that power to win slams. I hope Sascha makes the final a good one. He can't take two sets to warm up, that's for sure.

Good comeback! ...but it should have been a 3 set match. Now I'm gonna be up past my bed time watching the next one!
  12. If I was Mike, I would be praying for God to take me now so that I didn't have to listen to Sonny and Joss anymore! Jesus God they are annoying. I don't think a dying person really wants to hear someone blab on and on about all the shit they are gonna miss. Could she have made it any more about herself! And Sonny informing Mike that the doctor said his time was almost up, but only God knows for sure when exactly it will be. WTF?!

This is why I cannot be a Sasha fan. You just never know what you are gonna get.

In her after game interview, Serena said she will be in Paris. She blamed the loss on Vika making shots she normally doesn't make, which came off as both a compliment and a diss. "I think she started playing really, really well. Like, she just started getting balls that she normally doesn't get back, she got those back. She started hitting shots that she normally doesn't make, she made those. She just really stepped her level up." .... "When she's playing against me, she just lifts her level to unseen levels." Then there was this gem: "Yeah, I mean, I always -- she's had a lot of, I would say, downs in her career. She started on a lot of highs. I don't know. I don't know how she stayed positive, to be honest, so... That's a good lesson for all of us."
  15. She looked close to death to me too, but according to the comments on the update page, she is alive and still using. They say she moved in with a much older man. So it seems her mother and that group at least are holding their bottom lines.
  16. From her sister from FB... Weirdly they missed and didn’t air a lot of stuff. They focused primarily on her prostitution, and my mom leaving, my dad ect... but missed all the screaming, slamming doors so hard they almost broke off the hinges.Or all her mental health issues... the fact she was taking drugs for illnesses she didn’t even have. How she’s bipolar. That everyone in our family abandoned her.Or the fact on my honeymoon I had to call Shandon multiple times a day trying to convince her to stay. So much. But other than that it was well done. Very hard to watch. I bawled like a baby. Shandon now is part of a medical program, and is doing so well. This show changed my families life.
  17. Is anyone watching Hard Knocks this season? Just wondered if it was worth watching. I hope they don't play canned cheering during the games like they are doing for US Open tennis. They have a catalog of crowd cheers they play after every freaking point. After a while I'm like, of they are using that clip again. It's absurd. Like, we can see the stadium is empty, it's okay for it to be quiet, we get it. I was actually looking forward to being able to hear more talk/sounds from the field during play.

You know the match is one-sided when they have to send Patrick McEnroe on walkabout to various places around the empty stadium to try to keep us interested. Thiem really brought the fire-power. Medvedev better bring a couple extra packets of CrampsAway! I think I'm rooting for Vica to take her comback all the way.

Zverev giving Brad some lip makes me like him more! BG can't whisper though, he likes to hear himself talk too much. I wish I liked James Blake as a commentator more, but I just find him bland and boring. He's okay courtside. Looks like Mary Carillo has been put out to pasture on the outlands of ESPN3. Heartbreaker for Shopovalov. I kept thinking he had it, but CB found a way. That looked like an exhausting match. I think Med/Thiem might be the real final in the semis. In which case, I have to root for Med. I like Thiem, but like others here, I can't support his Wham-worthy frosted tips. Those really should have stayed in the 80's.
  20. Yay, I hope this mean Craig Revel Harwood will get to be the funny one. He is so much more lively on DWTS AU, but it seems like he tones it down for SCD to let Bruno be the "funny" one.
  21. Is anyone watching Plate of Origin with Mat and Gary? Just wondered if it was worth it....
  22. I was laughing at Cyrus' poster in the lobby, too. How can he skulk around the halls of GH so much, isn't he supposed to be volunteering at Turning Woods? So far this big bad mobster has fired two grannies ...for just cause! WTF?!

I wanted to see Goffin go through, but Shopovalov was on his game. Tiafoe has no answers for Med. The all Russian quarter should be good.

I guess I got my ABN, but damn. He could have killed that woman, end of fucking discussion. I was pissed off that he got no warning for the prior shot that hit his bench!

Tsitsipas/Coric was the first really exciting match for me, where I didn't walk away from the TV. Tsitsipas would play amazing and get some break points, or win 8 games in a row, or be up 5-1 in the fifth set, but then go on walkabout and allow Coric right back in it. Coric earned it though. He was playing great tennis. Lots of spectacular points. There is no interview up yet, but I'm dying to know what was going on! Also, Cliff TOTALLY has a crush on Stephanos.
