  1. I loved it (premiere on PBS). My favorites are tied Zac Efron and the opening of the shades bit. So, a bitchy Magneto is in a long-term relationship with I Claudius with Ramsay Snow as an upstairs neighbor. Or Gandalf and Professor Yana are neighbors with Simon Bellamy.
  2. Watching this movie for the first time. That's 1 hour and 40 minutes I'd like to get back please. So, so horrible. Who saw this and thought TV show?
  3. I got to watch the show with closed captions, legally last night. The beginning with Brad and his commander is less garbled but according to cc Brad wanted to leave his commander his "globe" and the commander has a bunch of other "globes" Is that a captioning snafu? If not, the wedge ball could be called a globe - oooh! They did mention the Traveller. So does that imply the Traveller guy exists out of time or is just really smart about where he hops around to? Another question and I think this is a language difference between Canada and US the way the British have different words or pronunciations. The chip in Alec's wrist in the show he called it a R-FID. But in the U.S. we call them R-F ID chips. Was it a show snafu or is it pronounced as R-FID in Canada? For a good laugh, imagine if the Traveler guy is Carlos - our Mr. Normal.
  4. Okay, here's the deal. The had poison nail polish so rubbing the floor made it grind into a powder they could ingest. Whele had detained the women from another city. All but one were dead. How could he explain away their deaths without going to war with a city that has an airforce? It's diplomatic blackmail.
  5. I believe Evelyn is the name of the "off-screen lesbian goddess priestess" (hee @sjohnson). I thought this episode was godawful between the dialogue and stilted acting but I'll stick with it. Is it weird that I found Gabriel much more menacing and cooler in the premiere? You have to give the show props for not killing off street urchin girl. Also, I thought the scene between the Whele son and Alex was well done in terms of setting up potential storylines and vaguely animated acting. Do you think the tattoos itch or burn? I wonder if it's like celestial texting from God?
  6. I thought it was like an amalgamation of all the #yesallwomen tweets and it was fabulous (sad that it's true yeah).
  7. So glad this wasn't just a poor victimized friend-zoned guy story (the UCSB shooting makes me wary of those IRL and on TV). Cross and Angie had a nice relaxed vibe which gave a glimpse into their partner days. Just a thought now, so Heather had a string of failed relationships how many did Gordon sabotage?
  8. Hi, I'm a Marvel universe newbie (no comics, just the movies/TV). I really love getting up to speed and researching things like Kree or Captain Marvel. If you're in the same boat. I stumbled upon a cartoon on Netflix called The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. I know it's a kids cartoon but the writing is pretty good and it's a great way to see the big Marvel universe. They have a prison called The Vault that basically is the exact design for The Fridge. I'm really psyched for the Ant Man and Black Panther movies thanks to this cartoon! Also, the theory
  9. @yeswedo Thanks! I got really confused there for a bit. :-)
  10. The episode topic numbering in all wonky: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3037520/episodes
  11. Ugh, Hatred is just a huge character mis-step. First off, his voice is horrendous like nails on a chalkboard. Then he's a reformed pedophile. And he's a shit bodyguard. Complete fail. I wish Princess Tiny Feet will throttle him Jabba style.
  12. I really liked the finale, ignoring some draggy parts and hacky dialogue. When Lucas said, "Whatever this is, I'm in." I laughed because I agreed! Gray pragmatic Kiera is so much better than previous ones. Brad didn't wow me this episode but hey he had a handy doodad!. He's kinda Kiera's Emily, a character that is just there. The mecha at the end reminded me of Robotech (Masters not Macross). The swerves in storytelling were great: not an assassination, Dillon being alive, and Kellogg's upset. I have to say, suit Alec seriously does not deserve a corporation if he doesn't read legal documents before he signs them. It's not an iTunes release kid! So, Continuum is on the bubble. Should we send Space TV chocolate wedge balls to save the show? Much better than tabasco...
  13. Hey, I watch way too much TV and I TOTALLY CALLED IT on April 29. The whole Mark being a clone part - the particulars not so much :-) Absolutely great finale. #Cosimalives. Some actors totally dial into my empathy so when they cry, I cry. Tatiana is definitely one of those (Brad Pitt and Sandra Bullock as well). The 4 clones scene - I need to watch a making of documentary STAT! One very happy viewer here. So long seestras and brother seestras - don't burn down any fish people farms.
  14. It was Hebrew. That was actually really cool for me. I was looking away from the screen and had heard like 3 different alien languages in the hour. Then I recognized what I thought was an "alien" language and had to switch from holy shit I'm Votan to yay Hebrew survives another millennia.
  15. This is very good news! Is there such a thing now as the "Oliver bump"?
  16. It felt like we missed an episode with the sudden jumps in character and plot. There should have been a scene where Kiera works through how the timeline got so effed with Brad (which could pass as a shorthand resolution of the whole killing her issue). It felt like out of nowhere she wanted to spring Alec and had this big plan with Brad. And why was her response to Dillon getting blowed up "I have to go to Alec."?? Yeah, something crucial was left on the editing floor or a writer was out sick. I have a guess that Darth Reanimator is Julian. Since present day Julian asked how many people he murdered as Theseus. So, maybe he's the time traveler and healer as a way to right his wrongs? Also, I would like to say CALLED IT that Curtis was brought back by Freelancer tech/magic. I think he is purely working on Darth's side who no longer wants to be caged up.
  17. With the recent media attention on Marvel's upcoming Dr. Strange movie, I found out our own Dr. Orpheus is based on him! Which could be hilarious or enough cognitive dissonance to break your brain. Enjoy this montage of our favorite necromancer.
  18. Thank you for the tip! I just watched it. Just a lovely film. Youtube commenters were even nicer than usual.
  19. That is the literal interpretation of what narrator means. But on io9, the debate is if her proclamations about the timeline are accurate since we, as the audience, have seen her be dead wrong about things. The debate isn't about point of view or who we are as the audience but could she be wrong.
  20. Sarah needs to sic Helena on Dyad. Can I also say that I am so confused about why donating bone marrow is such a huge deal. The drama surrounding a routine procedure felt like they were asking Kira to chop off a leg.
  21. Absolutely loved this episode! Over at io9, they're debating whether Kiera is reliable narrator so how accurate was her big speech or was she just trying to mess with Liber8? Of course Lucas, who was already unstable, would flip his lid at the mere idea of multiple timelines. Curtis is really a wild card for me since we have no idea what his origin time is. This is my theory: freelancer Curtis traveled to 2077, got in with LIber8, died, then either got revived by Freelancer tech, or got pulled from another time and brought back to the 2010's. Jumped to Kellogg's future and partnered with Brad. Ugh, that hurt my brain! Minor correction. Carlos did not show Kiera the empty freezer. He was alone when he found the freezer empty, missing the body. Hey, is there a shorthand to deal with the Kieras? I know we have suit Alec and hoodie Alec. The Kiera we're following could be Kiera Prime and the other Dead Kiera (obviously).
  22. Okay that's it. I'm on the barge. This Ric fake-out makes no sense! Anna, who had just admitted a couple days ago that she regretted the decisions she made as a spy and its impact on her daughter, choose to inflict similar damage on another daughter. That isn't Anna - the character I have known for over twenty years. Why would Nathan who just had to deal with a shit ton of lies and back from the dead BS agree to be a fall guy? Fuck this show. I'm out.
  23. Another Alpha as the prosecutor! I want to see the rest of cast darn it. Ryan Cartwright or Erin Way as the murderer/victim combo could work. I guess I am really slow but this episode confused me. Corbin Bernsen guy lost his grandson and tried to prosecute the family looking after the child. I thought that family was Erica Cerra's for a while. But her family lost their son too and Corbin was on a crusade to screw over perceived abusive families. But wouldn't he also have sympathy for families that lost children? Yeah, this episode kinda made no sense to me since a lot of plot was told not shown. The crinkling eye thing was really unprofessional so I get why Angie was annoyed. Generally, you don't comment on any physical anything at work and if it's an insight gleaned from a personal relationship, that is a no no. Just switch eye crinkle to knowing that Wednesday is blue pantie day.
  24. Hang on, FIFA has insisted that Budweiser will be sold at the game in Brazil. Won't there be a ton of deaths from that? I've seen sober soccer mobs, ye gads... I wonder if anyone has tallied how many deaths can be directly linked to FIFA?
  25. Preach! Today's episode was so bad, I think I only watched 7 minutes of it and everything else was FF. I was thinking it could be interesting to have a soap that can pass the Bechdel Test.
