Or some young lady wants to be a doctor, or wants to fly planes, or any of the multitude of things only men do, according to Jill.

Actually that's not true. Anna was front and center in the first two seasons of Counting On. She has been disappearing from the show little by little. Notice they barely mentioned the birth of Maryella at all despite the fact she was born the same month as Addison (Kendra's and Joe's daughter) and Bella (Si and Lauren's daughter). Based on Anna's lessening pressence, I would be very surprised if Josh came back.

I think it's Jeremiah. His rumored sweetheart is living in Arizona and the Duggars filmed something in Arizona. He also has been cagey about seeing someone. She's 22 and he's 21 (22 at the end of December). It's less than 6 months age difference. @JoanArc Even with parental permission, you need to be at least 17 to get married in the state of Arkansas, according to current state laws recently changed by a very conservative administration. I also think TLC is too cautious to let a minor get married at 17. I think the trailer is purposely misleading for shock value. Screw TLC for doing this!

I think Justin is becoming a pilot or something. My money is still on Jeremiah.

They got their current house from JB and Michelle. Austin is a contractor/remodeler without a license. They're continuing to make money out of putting their family on social media and filming them for Youtube, not TLC. Austin's parents are probably as fundie as JB and Michelle, even if they have less kids. Austin himself was homeschooled and probably sees no disadvantages to that. These two continue to make people feel they are changing, but they're not. Any changes they're making are lateral moves at best. I might change my mind if she's not pregnant or had a new baby by Christmas 2021.

Probably they think women should sing high. Or it's prettier when they do. But then the singing is flat, so they not even hitting the notes they're trying to hit. They can't sing that high anyway. I know quite a few women who could.

I think there's a good chance the new courtship will be announced at the end of this week after Tuesday's episode (so either Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday). The show airs Tuesdays, but I think they'll want to get the announcement this week for maxium media coverage before next week. Of course they could want to "surprise viewers" with the new couple as the show airs. But the episodes tend to be on-line early so people who watch on-line will know who the new courtship is. This week's episode is all about Jana.

Well Chad wants more kids "to give Carson a brother". My point is these guys are chosing to not to prevent pregnancy and I refuse to feel sympathy that unprotected sex leads to pregnancy. They are as responsible as their wives every time there is a new pregnancy.

I never said anything about their jobs. I said I don't feel sorry for them, because they keep getting their wives pregnant.

Ben seems to enjoy the baby train quite a bit. So does Chad Paine. Just because they're tired or stressed doesn't mean that they don't enjoy having kids and want to quit. Ben's parents seemed to have deliberately stopped at seven kids, but Ben grew up in a bigger family than the one he has now. I refuse to feel sorry for these young men. They seem to like having sex and kids and until one of them actually says they want to stop having kids I'm going to believe they want more kids.

I don't think the new brown stripe shirt above has collar. One thing about the old IBLP is that most/all the shirts had collars. Certainly both shirts have collars in the picture from their courtship days.

Chad's parents are just religious and quiverfull as Erin's. His father is on the board of IBLP with Gil Bates. The Paines have 10 children. They're part of IBLP so they also had as many as they could. Chad has also said "that Carson needs a brother". Chad has 5 brothers and 4 sisters. He is the headship so he wants to stop being Quiverfull he should say something. All of these people could chose to stop going after boys and be happy with what they have. I suspect part of why they keep reproducing is that the indoctrination is strong, that bigger is better, that birth control is a sin, etc. I grew up Catholic and have known some Catholics who struggle with this as well.

That's one of the big pressures of being a celebrity child, according to an article I read a long time ago. Everyone has an awkward phase and yet celebrity children are expected to be photogenic their entire childhood from birth to adulthood.

I put this in the John and Alyssa thread too, but they're idiots for having a sex reveal with some sort of smoke devices. Lots of people I know are furious at sex reveals in general after a sex reveal helped start a huge fire in California. They not only had a sex reveal when those things are starting to drive people crazy, but one with smoke! They seemed to have help possibly from Up tv filming this, but no one thought anything of this.

Adding these people are very stupid and insensitive to do a sex reveal using smoke! I know the smoke wasn't coming from a fire and they didn't burn anything down, but everyone I know off this site is mad at sex reveals at all after one started a massive fire in California. It would have been better to just get a cupcake or release confetti, etc. Or not do one at all.

The Collingsworth family has a few unmarried women, maybe there's a courtship for one of the boys.

Curls were all the rage in the fundie world for a long time. I was once on fundie site for teen fundie girls and there were ads for making your hair more curly.

Alyssa has said over and over that she wants to have a son for John. That she feels the need to give John a son. It even seems to be the motivating factor in having more kids. When someone says things like that I tend to believe them. A fundie-lite friend of mine had two girls and was clearly to desparate to have at least one son. Her family made jokes about the first house "being cursed" so they only got girls. Fortunately her third child was a boy and they seem to relax after and appreciate all their kids. Alyssa clearly was hoping for a boy. She has made that clear that "having a son" for John is priority, even though he has nephews to carry on the family name. Yes I think in the long run, they will love all of their children, but they clearly had a prefence. Alyssa could have dozen girls and if they were healthy children, I wouldn't feel bad for Alyssa and John. But Alyssa and John are part of the Christian Patriarchy movement, where boys are see as more important. And it's clear she had a preference. I feel no shame in calling out their sexist attitudes and hoping their daughter is able to see past that.

I feel sorry for this fourth unwanted girl. I hope she finds love and friendship after she grows up and leaves this cult.
