  1. No they tagged Si and Lauren in the photo. You had to go Instagram to see it. Maryella also lives on the property. I think from a distance all babies look alike.
  2. I said they tend to wait until the mother is done having kids. I didn't say that they marry off the sister moms the minute mom's baby making days are done. My point was Christina Caldwell could still have children may want to keep her oldest daughter around to help. Plenty of fundies continue to keep the older daughters at home to help with the work and also so they can find someone suitable for their daughters. The Maxwells, whose daughters are still single. The Bontragers who just married off their other adult daughter when their youngest is 12. Obviously Michelle is done having kids. She's known this ever since she started talking about her new season of life. She's not dumb enough to think they'll have another baby.
  3. Kendra really is the new Michelle. No kids in sight! Since Michelle and JB are both under 60 I would describe as younger grandparents (none of my grandparents were that young). Michelle and JB are responsible for the own decisions to go.
  4. Well I thought she was pregnant, but if that's a recent picture, then probably not. Considering she had her baby a week after Kendra, and Kendra is already pregnant, it's possible. I like Lauren's outfit in the first picture. She is the most stylish of the Duggars to me. The shoes might not 'go" with the outfit, but considering they're out walking around, those shoes look appropriate.
  5. Yeah I could see this as there's only one other Caldwell girl and she's a lot younger. And most fundie families seem to wait to marry all the sister moms until mom is done having children.
  6. I wonder how they're pronouncing Evy. Is Ee-vie or Evvie? Most Evelyns I know got by Evie pronounced Eevie and this includes young kids. Evelyn was #10 on the USA popularity charts so it's very popular. Most of the Duggar baby names are popular although not that popular. Evelyn is one of the most popular names. (MacKynzie, Maryella and Spurgeon are the least popular names they've used so far.) Evelyn Mae is nice. No one guessed either of those names. I also had this thought. I bet if asked Joy and Austin will deny she's named after the lesbian aunt.
  7. WTF Stuff like this makes me Jeremy isn't as smart as he wants us to believe.
  8. Quoting myself from over two months, to guess this is the courtship that will be announced at the end of the season. It's hard to say, but when asked Jed! says he's single and Jer gets quiet. I'm predicting it might be Jeremiah.
  9. Joshgate 1 came out in May 2015 and Joshgate 2 came out in July 2015. Anna was third trimester pregnant with Meredith when both Joshgates went public. She gave birth the day the original show was canceled. Then Meredith was a baby while Josh was in Jesus Jail. I think Meredith is just young and cute and that's why we get photos of her. I doubt she's the favorite. When Maryella is Meredith's age, we'll probably get more photos of Maryella. Also Meredith is happy and photogenic.
  10. SBC stands for Southern Baptist Covention. It's the mainstream less severe version of what the Duggars believe. The Duggars are IFB. The I stands for Independent, meaning they don't follow the SBC. The F stands for Fundmentalist, meaning a more literal interpretation of the the bible and the B for Baptist, which means that theologically they share doctrine with other Baptists. They're extremely legalistic. It's the same fundie Catholics shared theology with my family, but had very different interpretations of what it means. Catholicism and Baptist are the two biggest denominations of Christianity in America. And they have a lot in common. They don't ordain women. They're not as anti-gay as the fundies, but have a long way to go to fully accepting the LGBTQ community. I won't say too much because of the rules politically they're pretty close as well.
  11. Jill posted a long time ago that Tim was the most rebellious of all the kids growing up. She's probably always been worried he'll go rogue. Especially since fundies place special emphasis on first-born sons.
  12. In the Duggar house! No way! Bill Gothard believed Cabbage Patch Kid dolls were evil and prevented pregnancy or cause mental illness. It sounds nuts, because it is nuts. I suppose all cult leaders like to demonize things that are popular. Cabbage patch dolls Gothard
  13. Jill doens't seem to be on that often. When she is on, she doesn't have a talking head segment or is interviewed much. As far as I know her only appearances are the birth of Ivy, and the birth of Bella episodes. Other than that she doesn't have much of a part in the show. They don't seem to film every month either. As for Derick, his views are basically the same as his in-laws.
  14. I think it's the best possible solution given the choices. Jessa, Jana, and Michelle want to include Israel and Sam, because these are their nephews/grandchildren. They want them to have experiences with their cousins. I think it's good the family includes Jill's children. Jill and Derick want their kids to spend time with their cousins. It's good to some extent that they want their kids to know the family. It's the holidays almost everyone wants to be with family and see relatives. Derick has pulled his children off television. As a parent that is his choice. He doesn't want them to be aired. TLC has to blur them. I think it's good that parents can make choices to protect their kids and that the network has to abide by them. I agree with Derick pulling his kids off the show, but the youtube and social media posts make it a lateral move. Same goes for Austin and Joy, who seem to be more on youtube than TLC. What @Nysha said.
  15. Mixed news: So Gabby Barrett's song I Hope is no longer the number 1 country song in America. It fell to #2. The new number 1 song is Morgan Wallen's Seven Summers. Morgan Wallen is a newish country star, who had the number 1 hit Whiskey Glasses last year. So far I think Chasin' You is his best song, but he's very popular and rising. However both of these songs ended very high on the all-genre chart, the Hot 100. The Billboard Hot 100 has songs from all genres including country, pop, rap, etc. Seven Summers is #6 in America across genres and I Hope is #10. It wasn't that high on the Hot 100 even while being #1 on the country chart. Billboard has complicated formula for calculating hits and rankings and people are often confused and annoyed by the way the charts are set-up. Basically popularity in a genre doesn't guarantee where a song lands on the Hot 100. A top ten hit is still a big deal.
  16. It's Christmas in August. Also I get the feeling that every year they put on the Best Christmas Pageant. @Sew Sumi (I hope you don't mind I created this thread.)
  17. @Churchhoney The name Allie Beth Stuckey name sounds familar. Is she acquainted with Jeremy?
  18. Not all schools prohibit them. My mother always insisted on shoes that attached to your feet in case of an emergency. In middle school a lot of people wore flip-flops. One of my friends wore snearkers and changed shoes in school. As for Jill, her narcisstic parents had their children wearing flip-flops at a construction and in the rainforest. Two places where closed toe shoes not only make sense, but are necessary to protect your feet.
  19. The 200 year plan was Doug Phillips, not Bill Gothard. Doug Phillips had his own cult called Vision Forum. There was some interaction between the groups like when Phillips gave Michelle Duggar a "mother of the year" award, but they were separate groups. It's hard to say how much of Phillips' teachings the Duggars believe. The Seewalds (Ben's parents) belonged to Vision Forum. The fall of Vision Forum happened right after Ben and Jessa married in 2014 before Joshgates happened. Doug Phillips was accused of sexual harrassment by his children's nanny. The fall of Vision Forum may have something to do with why some of Ben's siblings aren't as fundie as he is.
  20. A comment from who? If it wasn't Joy or one of the family, it's not reliable information.
  21. Grandma Mary and Ivy Jane Seewald shared a birthday. When Ivy was born, they said that these are the only two family members to share a birthday besides the twins. So far none of the new births have changed that.
  22. She definitely knew that Joy was due last week. It's possible no one phoned her that Joy had given birth. In a family this large with so many births, it's possible that everyone assumed someone called Jinger to tell her the baby was born, but no one did. If Joy wasn't being induced, then she could still be pregnant. She was due on Wednesday so she wouldn't be 41 weeks yet. I forget to tell relatives we got our power back after it was out for days. My poor relative thought we still didn't have power, because we didn't tell them directly and assumed others had.
  23. You are not alone. Lots of people are obsessed with names, myself included.
