  1. She's been raised full-on Gothard. Her family were literally the poster children for Gothard's homeschooling school program ATI, (Advanced Training Institute, the homeschooling arm of IBLP). Actually a picture of her family is still up on ATI page of the IBLP website. Her LPN status may have exposed her to new ideas about family size. But old beliefs die hard. I expect her to have kids pretty soon after marriage, especially since she is "an older bride" in their world.
  2. My gues is Tori didn't want to be a bridesmaid, even if her husband is the best man. (For her sister Josie's wedding). I can't blame Tori for not wanting to be a bridesmaid if that's how she feels. I think the networks chop these ceremonies down for television, but it's probably a much longer ceremony, possibly even two hours long*or longer. And then they make the bridesmaids** stand on the altar the entire time in most of the fundie weddings I've seen. So if 7-8 months pregnant Tori wants to sit most of the ceremony, I get it. (*A little over two hours is about the longest wedding I've ever attended and then we had to take pictures in the church before the reception.) (** This is traditional, but not something that most young couples are doing now of days, especially if they're having long church.)
  3. It was the last season before Joshgate 1 so still 19 Kids and Counting.
  4. But would you let your parents or JB and Michelle pick out a husband? My prediction is Jana will be married by the end of 2020. Probably a fundie guy like one of the Bates boys. But I don't want Jana to get married out if she doesn't want to.
  5. I don't get an "uppity" air from Lauren, but I could see it being true one of the parents came from money. They seem wealthier than I would expect from people who own a small farm and a lawn keeping business. Compare the Swansons to the Bates when they first were on 19 kids and counting. The Swansons seem somewhat better off while the Bates were struggling at that time.
  6. I mainly watched the Charlie Brown Christmas specials (Charlie Brown's Christmas and Charlie Brown's Christmas 2) and Franklin doesn't do that stuff in those. He just behaves like another kid. It's in the later specials that Charles Schultz had less control over that the examples were pulled from. The Christmas ones were religiously themed based on Schultz's own religious beliefs.
  7. Anna is wearing the maternity dress which Joy also has one just like it and wore to go dirt biking. It's possible that they wear maternity clothes while not pregnant...
  8. It looks to be a professional set up to me, but I'm not sure. Who are those people?
  9. No that was #20 (Jubilee) when he ran out of the room.
  10. By the time the twins (Jana and JD) were Henry's age (18 months), Michelle had given birth to Jill already. When Jill was 18 months she gave birth to Jessa. Jessa is 13 months older than Jinger and Jinger is about 13? months older than Joe. My point is there wasn't too much time with just 3 kids.
  11. Lauren is 19 and she's from Georgia. Her parents seem to be from the same group (Gothardism) as the Duggars. It's been confirmed that her parents also have a letter theme going (L for girls, and D for boys).
  12. If I could like this more than once, I would.
  13. Actually it makes sense to me that with so many kids they can't keep track of everything. Why do they need a dog? My friends with budget issues and largish families had few pets and no dogs, because of the cost involved. I wish no one had mentioned the dog to them. He/She's better off with the animal rescue people.
  14. Actually Sarah seems to be on vacation this week. By herself. Steve is so sure his kids will never run he's starting to expand the priviledges a little. Her sisters are in their twenties and they sleep in the bunk beds. Steve and Terri posted this week about how they go for 7 mile hikes all the time. They spend 1/2 hour chitchatting, a hour praying, and a listening to sermons using fancy wireless earbuds. No silence aloud.
  15. That house is too small for a long time home, even if they spend time outdoors or out of the house. If I remember correctly, it has one bathroom, a bunch of bedrooms and a small tight open concept mainroom. Hopefully they will settle in a larger house for their growing family.
  16. Michelle went into premature labor with Josie? What I remember was that she just pregnant (about 5/6 months along) and her blood pressure was elevated and there were other medical factors that created a stroke risk, which made the doctors decide to an emergency c-section, but I have no memory of her ever being in-labor with Josie. (Someone else may be able to clarify what happened better than me.) Michelle did make the call when Jessa was hemorrhaging. It wouldn't surprise me if like the weddings, we got the shortened sneak peak of the last three births and if they show extended birth episodes later that reveal more.
  17. Are you sure it's the same Lucy? That's a common enough name that one Lucy could be licensed and one could be not.
  18. There are so many Bachlorettes in successful relationships, these two won't be in too high demand. Becca was the 14th Bachlorette.Of the first ten Bachlorettes, three of them are married to the man they chose on the show. The last three Bachelorettes are still with the winner of the their respective seasons, and we'll see what happens with any future seasons.
  19. Even as a lapsed (kind of) heathen Catholic" I don't see Jer as less judgmental. Given how much value he seems to place on appearances, I would gather he's probably plenty judgmental just better at hiding it. And maybe "running Jinger's life" too. Jeremy is a lot like Jessa.
  20. That article with the three new moms (Joy, Kendra, and Jinger) is old (from late February/early March.)US Weekly seems to have re-released it for counting on. But I recommend it. It shows how much Kendra thinks like her in-laws. Henry was barely one when they did that interview, but Jessa needs to have another one. (It wasn't a year for Jill yet.) Kendra also is the one who says "we're having as many kids as God will give us." (In that article Joy has already given birth and gives a great answer "We love children so we'll see." Jinger says she's admires Jeremy's fashion sense which gives me the impression he helps her chose clothes.
  21. Who says she didn't? As for this cd, however little they make, I bet those girls won't see a dime. They should have the money put aside for them from the proceeds.
  22. I think Laura is a nanny and tutor to the Duggar children. They have Laura, because the rest of the older girls are married with children of their own and Jana needs help and her younger sisters are too young to be their own tutors. It's summer; home-schooling has wound down and they brought her to help with Jessa's boys. TLC barely acknowledged Laura or Tabitha Paine, when she worked for them. They (TLC) once staged a road trip for Josh and Anna with their first three kids, which they didn't acknowledge Jana was there even though she was. TLC and the Duggars need people to believe that the Duggars have no trouble wrangling lots of children either a few little tots or the whole brood and the truth is they rely/get a lot more help dealing with their family. As for Jessa at the hospital, it sounds like a TLC plotline. Like most reality tv, it's really staged.
  23. I think they meant that they are quiverfull and have as many as God will give them. It is unclear how much prenatal care they get. Melanie, who is high-risk, always her babies in a hospital and seems to have good prenatal care. The other two daughter-in-laws give birth at home, but it's hard to say how much care they receive before that.
