I hope that they get rid of the "dining table" people or do a better job of casting them. I liked the home cook who is an active military member whose name escapes me right now. I enjoyed watching him win, but the others kind of grate. I kind of blame that on Adam for his stupid questions. Count me in as another viewer who dislikes the canned trash talk from the cooks and chefs. Really, I don't need that much drama when it comes to reality shows. I also liked the home cook who was planning to donate his winnings to charity. I can't root against anyone who tries out for a competition show and chooses to give the winnings away. I'm not sure I could be as generous because I still have college loan debt. :) Although on Guy's Grocery Games, there seems to be, at least, one person on each episode who plans to give his or her winnings to charity. It sounds cheesy, but that does make me happy. And yes! It irks me to see the amount on food Gordon wastes on his shows, in particular, Hell's Kitchen. I need to watch Chopped more often because I like how that show is set up (as far as food competitions go).

I never cared much for Monique. I thought she was a brat. Plus her face is too square. I see on a couple of sites that she's listed as being from Chicago, IL. She's from Hebron, which is an hour and a half away from Chicago and is actually closer to the Wisconsin border. I'm from the north central Illinois area, so I know that a load of poo from her and/or her reps. I think it's amusing that on the NWFW she's listed as just "model" in the caption. -
"Back in line." - You'll be gone next week.

S21.E04: The Guy Who Gets A Beard Weave
Surrealist replied to Tara Ariano's topic in America's Next Top Model [V]
Ha! Actually, this reminds of me the Cycle in which each model had to model a certain PSA. One was the effects of smoking, bulimia, etc. I remember being kind of disturbed by it. Well, more disturbed than I usually am about the show. -

I'm more bothered by Kari's lack of an upper lip than I am about her hideous makeover. Tyra must secretly hate Kari to give her that Ty-over. -
For some reason it amuses me that Gordon came down on the one guy who was giving lap dances. Meanwhile he walks around only wearing black briefs and nearly showing off his bare bits.

S13.E01: Top 18 Compete/S13.E02: Top 17 Compete

I'm with ElleryAnne. This crop of chefs appears less obnoxious (and revolting) than the chefs from last season. Last season's chefs made me cringe. I don't think I'd be happy if they were cooking in the restaurant I happened to visit. I miss JP and the new narrator's voice is . . . bland. It's weird. At first, I thought something was wrong with the audio feed, but then realize the usual guy had been replaced. I wish they wouldn't bleep out Gordon's comments. He's at his most over-the-top on this show. Oh, and really Gordon? The opening credits are of you watching the cheftestants as gladiators? -

I probably should be embarrassed to say that Janai amused me in some way. However, it was her time to go. I also enjoyed seeing the stunning sand sculptures. -
I've watched the 5 episodes through On Demand. I really wanted to like the directors. Shane would drive me to drink. I want to root for Anna because she's a female director and those are harder find, but she's so co-dependent on her husband and his brother. Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, I know that working with relatives has its pluses and minuses. The minuses can be extremely bad and Anna's relationship with her husband and his brother . . . I don't know. It seems like a bad longterm idea. Anna and her husband seem headstrong. Him more so than her. I kept thinking "Is he the director? Or is she supposed to be?" Their relationship really bugged me. I'll listen to anything Zachary Quinto and Chris Moore have to say, which are the two reasons I'll keep watching.

I enjoyed the review. So many great lines, but the following had me laughing like a donkey. Absolutely wonderful.

I like Isaac on PR:AS. I wouldn't mind seeing him as one of the regular judges or mentor on PR.
-
Can we switch out Tim and/or Nina for Swatch? That choice might salvage the show.
-
If she had said "star" or "the famous person," then it wouldn't have been obnoxious. For me, Zac is the only tolerable judge. It's not that I dislike Heidi, but I question her taste quite often. I keep hoping that we're going to get wow'ed by the designers this season, but so far: nothing. They're all kind of bland.
-
Yes! It was the "important person" part that made my jaw drop. If I were to give Nina the benefit of the doubt and assume she didn't mean to sound bitchy, then she could have made her point in a different way without that tone attached to it. A few weeks back, she talked about how she started as an intern. Did she see herself as unimportant at that time? I thought her remark was stupid regardless of how she meant it.
-
Ha! Exactly. They could erect a rainway structure that's a cutout of Tyra's face so that the models would have to walk through the forehead. I agree. If I were a designer, I wouldn't want my clothing to get wet. Oh, and even after Alexander's been auf'ed, I plan to flood the Fan Favorite voting for him. ;)
-
Regarding your first statement, I think it applies to many of the designers. I didn't mind Sandhya's dress from last night either, but it looked more like a cocktail hour-style dress rather than a gown. I was surprised that Kini didn't finish his dress in the usual two hours. ;)
-
I half expected someone (like Zac) to say something. I didn't grow up with a lot of money. As an adult, I don't make that much money. Even if I won the lottery and became a multimillionaire overnight, I would never say something nasty about a person who can't afford a designer gown. Their reaction kind of reminded me of the way some designers get pissy when they have to dress PR fans. The fans are the ones who keep the show on the air so that those designers can go on, get name recognition, and compete for prizes. Having said that I wonder how this crop of designers would behave in the super fans makeover episode. Given that it seems like most of them have confessed that they don't know how to make dresses and gowns, I wonder if they'd act as snooty and high fashion. I'm guessing this crop of designers prefers to design for the average customer.

When I lived in Chicago, the Chicago History Museum held a Charles James exhibit. I went to it and his work is fascinating. He was an interesting personality to boot. His gowns are extravagant and highly detailed. Very intricately made. Nothing that designers put out for the runway reminded me of what Charles James had accomplished. In fact, none of the designers' dresses qualified as gowns. I'm not saying that had to follow James' designs to a T. None of them is that talented, but none of those dresses were gowns. I'm surprised by the judges, but I think Zac gave the best critiques. Zac knows how to make dresses and gowns. Again, I like Kini, but I could not believe he chose Neoprene. Oy.
-
I can't believe Kini used Neoprene. I feel like setting the next contestant on fire who uses Neoprene. What a shitty thing for their social media person to tweet. Oh yeah. Melrose was annoying. She'd fit in really well with this season's designers, except that she's not a designer.
-
I like Char too, but I'm not sure Tim should have wasted his save. Then again, I'm not exactly wow'ed by any of them this season, so you could feasibly argue that Tim would be wasting his save regardless of which designer gets sent home. I dislike Korina, but I think she deserved the win over Sean. I liked Sean's gown, but it wasn't exactly risk taking. Was I the only person insulted when Nina dissed Samantha's dress as being something that a PR intern would wear? I think Heidi followed it up with a star's assistant. They're such snobs. I was put off by that comment. Hey, maybe if the fashion industry paid its interns . . . Anyway. So next week is a rain runway. Has Heidi been in contact with Tyra for ideas? A rain runway is straight out of ANTM.

Past Winners: Wanna Be on Top? Too Bad.

I think Laura is pretty, but what I remembered from her Cycle is that she was too tan to model. Or, at least, to model high fashion. -

I don't understand it either. She's pretty average to me. She doesn't have much of an upper lip, but she does have prominent teeth. Those things together were kind of jarring to me. I loved Miss J talking about putting a foot up Adam's ass. He definitely needs it. Romeo is a legend in his own mind. -
I was glad to see the siblings work out their differences near the end. I'm also happy that the place has been getting good reviews. As Intuition brought up, the "haunted" designation should help them generate more business. The hotel has been around since the 1700s, it would be a shame for it to die off now. Hopefully, they continue to get more business. I, too, thought that he makeover made sense for the property. And, of course, we get a Gordon shower shot. You can't have a Gordon without him taking off something at some point.

Same here. It's refreshing that she could afford a nose job, but didn't see the point in getting one because she's fine with how she looks. She is pretty.
