Henry was on a slave ship and wouldn't let the captain throw a slave overboard, so the captain shot and threw him overboard instead. I don't think he knows why he's immortal, but he feels it's more of a curse. Understandable, I guess. At one point, I think Henry mentions that he's looking for a way to die. As in, die forever. But maybe I misheard him.

Ha! Awesome.

I don't remember my mom ever putting me in a jumpsuit. Aside from using one as part of a Halloween costume, I don't understand their appeal. The designers this season seem to love them. Am I just behind on what's cool in fashion?
-
I still see that as defending herself, her ego, in a defensive way.My point is that you have Tim telling them to make their designs "work" and to be willing to own them, regardless of what the judges say. Obviously Sandhya doesn't listen to any constructive criticism, but in her mind, she thinks her body of work is perfection. Sean was the same way toward Zac in one episode and he, too, got a little cocky after winning a couple of challenges. The difference is that he's willing to listen to critique and improve his designs. Except for not using the fringe last night. ;)
-
Initially I supported Sandhya because I had hoped we'd start to see more creative work, but instead she slipped more and more each week. It was her time to go, but I'd argue that her time was two weeks ago. I think the way she spoke to the judges kind of sealed her fate. They don't seem to like when a designer defends his or her design. I thought they were supposed to stay true to their vision while working within the confines of the challenge requirements. The people who did that were Kini, Char, and Korina. I thought Sandhya's look was terrible and not something a 9-year-old girl would wear. I did admire her composure after she was auf'ed. I felt she was at her most genuine in that moment.

THANK YOU!I'm so tired of seeing someone faint in almost every episode of a Gordon Ramsay show. I should feel bad saying that because these people might genuinely be ill, but these instances are executed in a way that makes me think the contestants or visitors are in cahoots with the producers.

That would have been 100,000 times better than watching him bite it on the runway like Alexandra did. ("She fell . . . TWICE.") See. Your first problem is seeking perspective from a show like ANTM. ;) I'd like to think that most viewers saw Romeo as a phony and not indicative of who Wiccans actually are and what they believe. -

Steve about Sterling - "The guy just thinks this whole thing's a joke and a game." Um. That's because it is.

I feel the same way. She looks OK, but she's vulgar. The problem is she thinks she's a badass. -

I don't know about the rest of you, but I totally expected Yu and Miss J to pull a simultaneous finger wag when they kicked out Romeo. -

YES! In the first episode, the judges sat in a circle ("round table") to discuss the contestants. I has hoping that that was going to be a permanent part of the show. I felt like it was a nod to the old structure, which was perfectly fine by me. I sure hope Tyra talks to the show's executive producer about changing the voting system so that she can give out her zeros. ;) Adam's growing on me a little, but his brother is cute. I wonder how old he is. I also wonder if they're opposite personalities. His brother gave off that vibe. I've complained about Romeo, but he does have that unique look. It's his attitude that's repellent. Plus he has too many tattoos for my taste. How about that pentagram he set up on the back porch? SMH. My eyes don't seem to be working too well today, but at first, I read that as "I watched this episode out of spite." -
I think Sam is probably fun to be around when he's not absorbed in bathroom humor. I feel like that's played out at this point. I don't dislike Anna. I really want to like her. I kind of understand her struggling with directing, but then she's off in her own world and seems to break down easily.
-
Maybe this is what actually bothers me. She totally strikes me as the writer type, so I'm surprised she wants to direct. It seems like a job way outside her comfort zone.I don't even mind that she collaborates with her husband and brother-in-law. I find the latter less annoying, but I feel like they do everything because they've decided she can't handle it. That also bothers me. If you're a director, then you have to know how to make decisions for yourself. Film is the director's medium, no?

I couldn't agree more. I know Tyra seems keen on Denzel, but I get the impression that she'd rather have Keith as a finalist. Keith and Ben seem to be the only two who meet the height requirements for male models. I like Will, but he's too tall. The others look an inch or two too short. Adam looks like he's 5'8" tops. -

You're correct. Raelia has mentioned a few times that she's a virgin. She can pull off seductive and sexy. At one point, she said something along the lines of how she couldn't hold Lenox's hand through this challenge. Raelia actually practices and when Lenox admitted that she hadn't, I knew Tyra would come after her ass. -

I think Jourdan was the first divorcee. I think it's possible Tyra might be jealous, but I'm not sure that's the only reason or the main reason. I've been interested in the fashion and modeling industries for a long time. From my observation, it seems as though models tend to marry and have children later in their lives after they've achieved some level of success and fame. Models start out young and when they're new faces, they'll do the editorial circuit, in order to nab the advertisement and endorsement deals because that's where the real money is. I'm guessing the reason we don't hear of young married models with children is because few, if any, exist. The lifestyle (traveling at a moment's notice, etc.) wouldn't be conducive to family life. That said few of the ANTM contestants are model material. At least, not for high fashion. They're too old to break into that niche. However, they can have lucrative careers in commercial modeling and they wouldn't have to travel as often and therefore, it's more conducive to family life. Maybe Tyra is still of that "models don't get married and have children until later" mindset? That was pretty much the case for her and her model peers. Sorry I'm trying to use Tyra-logic to respond to your post. ;) You have valid points about when and how Tyra uses contestants' backstories to suit her purposes. -

I have no issue with a woman choosing to be an escort or a prostitute. When I lived in Las Vegas, I saw plenty of them. More power to her.I'm focused more on her attitude. And her anger management problem. I see shades of her in the recently kicked off Romeo. I think if I were a man looking for an escort, she wouldn't grab me in any way. Something about her seems off. She does look older than she should, but I imagine that's due to hard living. It doesn't seem like she's had it easy. Tyra likes to exploit those kinds of contestants. -

I feel like this applies to 98% of the shows I watch. ;) I don't get the love for Mirjana. She's vulgar. Nothing attractive about that. -
Could you imagine? I don't think you'd hear one word out of Gordon because they'd all be bleeped out.
-
I've heard Gordon and Tyra tell contestants that they've given up. Seriously. Gordon needs to be a guest judge on ANTM. Not sure I'd put Tyra on any of the cooking shows.

I actually re-watched that segment to make sure I heard her correctly. And yeah . . . she's the executive producer, so I'm not sure why she can't give out zeros if she wants to. Maybe her wig was on too tight. I'm still confused about Denzel's beard weave. I've seen male models with goatees and one or two with a mustache, but for the most part, I assumed male models weren't supposed to have facial hair. Denzel isn't a favorite either, but he looked fine with the goatee. I enjoy the recaps and these forums. My offline friends don't watch these shows, so I need people with which to snark about the episodes and contestants. I think, maybe, Adam was a bit hungover and confused which side of his face Romeo headbutted. Adam's eyes looked a little bloodshot in his TH. They all need to lay off the booze. I'm guessing, based on the "assault charge," Romeo will not be able to work his way back into the competition. -

Exactly. Adam isn't my favorite. He made me groan in the first couple of episodes. That fight incident from his past makes me raise my eyebrows a bit, but he's kind of growing on me a bit. Romeo owned his responsibility in getting kicked out and that's something. You've actually made a good point. You'd assume someone like Adam knows when and when not to fight when alcohol is involved. I agree with Raelia's predictions. I like her. She keeps out of the b.s. I think this is a good thing when the contestants are fully aware it's expected of them, but a couple won't play along that way. I can see her in the Top 3 near the end. Will's a few inches too tall to model, but I like his personality and he's another one who tries to stay out of trouble. I like his friendship with Matthew. Matthew's a good egg too. Tyra probably wants Denzel near the end, but I feel like she's hoping Keith gets there too. I wish they'd get rid of the social media scores and the fans' videos of comments. I don't care what they think.
