  1. Same here. As soon as the psychiatrist came onscreen and I listened to his voice, I knew he was Adam. He's creepy though. I look forward to seeing what the writers will do with this plot in subsequent episodes. I feel bad that Henry's lived for over 200 years, but I'd hate to be Adam and live for over 2,000 years. That would suck. For a second, I worried that Clark was going to kill Abe. Thankfully that didn't happen because I really like Abe. I can't help but like this show, even with its flaws. Yes! I noticed that too. Definitely a creepy moment because of the sense of desperation that those claw marks represented. Even though Henry's died numerous times, it seems he's still scared of death. By contrast, Adam doesn't fear death.
  2. I don't think the Finale will show for me tonight because there's a Pac-12 football game on during the ANTM hours. I'll have to catch the mess through OnDemand. ETA: Nevermind. I keep getting Fox and The CW confused. At any rate, I won't be able to watch it until much later.
  3. Exactly. When I saw the sketch and how he started putting it together, I figured he'd get a top spot. When the model walked the runway and I saw the lack of a back end, I kind of cringed because I really liked the coat. I think I'm more impressed with Justin this time around than I was during his season.
  4. I could get kind of a city pattern out of Dimitry's coat, but I wasn't wow'ed by it. It wasn't bad though. I like Fabio's work fine, but I feel like I missed what was so wonderful about his coat because it was too dark for me to see the details. I really liked Justin's coat, except for the back. Justin's a woman wants her butt covered when it's cold outside. Hahahahaha. Justin's work has been pretty solid this AS. Helen's coat was ugly.
  5. This episode went from zero to STUNNING to zero. Sterling's nuts, but I'd take his personality over the always negative contestants. That kind of attitude wears me down after while.
  6. I don't want marriage or children, so it's all good! Whatever floats Tyra's boat. :) You've made an interesting point about Asian winners and even more interesting when you take into account that neither mothers nor LGBTQ people have either. C'mon, Tyra.
  7. Gah. You're right. I meant next Friday. Holiday week.
  8. From what I could tell from the TV listings, there will be two episodes back-to-back this Friday.
  9. Even though I've said Lenox is the most editorial of all the models left, I wanted her to go home. I'm sick of her whining about "being sexy" or not knowing how to dance, the list goes on . . . I also get tired of her backbiting THs. She comes across as unpleasant in general. It's not that difficult to look things up about modeling or, you know, find past seasons and episodes online to watch. I can't believe she doesn't seem to know what modeling entails. At least some of the contestants from previous cycles had better ideas. I'm convinced that a man wins this season and I think that's why Tyra is at every photoshoot. I think Keith does the same face every time. This was one of his worst episodes. I'm glad that Adam won best photo. I had hoped he'd kill the commercial, but that was a hot mess. I'm sad that Shei was sent home. I wish she had gotten a different Ty-over because I think it hurt her more than helped. I didn't think her photo was that bad, really. I like Will, but he's too tall and I wasn't impressed with his photo. However, I thought he was one of the better ones in the soap opera clip. I'm not sure that's saying much.
  10. I can always count on you to consider the things that I don't. Hahahaha. I'm wondering how Gordon's relationship with his father-in-law at this point. I'm still completely onboard for Gordon to be a guest judge on ANTM or PR. "Wow. That dress looks like a dog's dinner. Ah, f**k me."
  11. I want to learn more about Abigail. I'm guessing we'll have to wait until closer to the season's end.
  12. I really enjoyed this episode. I'm thinking that this show is starting to find its groove and that makes me happy. I like the interweaving of past and present events to "discuss" each episode's theme. I don't even mind the voiceovers, although I know that others do. Of course, Henry doesn't like jazz. I don't mind jazz, but that was a total parent thing to refer to it as noise. I'm sure that parents of the Boomers who listened to rock & roll thought that was noise too. Each generation complains about the next generation's choice of music. That's very relatable. Count me in as another viewer who enjoys Henry and Abe's relationship and their dynamic. Father teaching his son classical music and son teaching father jazz. I think Abigail had already died by 1956. If that's the case, then she wasn't in the picture for very long. When I think of that, I start thinking of the fact that Abe is getting older and eventually, he'll die and Henry will be alone again. That makes me sad and it explains Henry's quirkiness and pessimism. He'll always wind up alone over and over. I also look forward to the banter between Henry and Lucas. I'm so shocked Lucas was a film student (not!). He talked about making "horror erotica." I almost died. There are so many great lines on this show, I'm glad to see a quotes thread in this forum. I wish we didn't have to wait two weeks until the next episode. I think the show's getting better. And the fact that there's already fan fiction is saying something.
  13. Lucas: "Oh. It's over? I was just starting to feel my character."
  14. I've gotten the same vibe. It's entirely possible that DVF wasn't initially onboard and then was convinced to do the show (money and exposure for re-branding). I think she's feeling the squeeze since none of these girls seems capable of doing any job for her. I can understand her frustration. I continue to watch for DVF, but I wish they'd eliminate all of them and start over. Really perusing the contestant wannabes' qualifications the second time around.
  15. Ah, yes. Bette. She's the one who wants to be famous. An actress, right? And Dandy's goal was to become an actor. How fitting. I understand why Dot wants the surgery.
  16. Yeah. I was relieved when they didn't go there. Earlier in the season, I commented that I couldn't find much sympathy for any of the freaks. I had forgotten about Ma Petite. She wouldn't hurt a fly. I'm starting to warm up to some of the others. Jimmy's supposed to be the "savior" of the group, I guess. Dandy is creepy, creepy, creepy. But yeah, that would be an excellent role to play and the actor is loving it. I think I recall someone here mentioning that Twisty would come back as a ghost and a theory popped into my head, if that's what's going to happen.
  17. Oh my goodness . . . YES. The similarities are striking. There's something about Aaron's physical appearance that drives me nuts too, but I can't exactly describe what that is. I've said before that Sterling isn't as crazy as he lets on and this makes me wonder if he's going to be one of the finalists. At the very least, one of the top three. Is Jennifer the complainer from Philadelphia? Is she the only person who hasn't been yelled at by Gordon? At this point, I'm not remembering much, especially since the show took a hiatus during the WS.
  18. Thank you for saying this! I know that some people will create nicknames for those they don't like, but the way Yu used it to rationalize his behavior was off putting.
  19. I don't want to veer off topic too much, but I was thinking about Adam's family picture. He has an equally attractive brother. After reading your post, I started wondering if his brother is older or younger and whether the brother is the "favorite." That kind of plugs in to what you've said. For the record, I'm not overlooking Adam's homophobic headlock incident. That was wrong. Period. According to him, he's paid for it. I'm not saying he gets a pass because he admits that, but at the same time, I believe people deserve a second chance. I'm sure Will knows all the details and he's defended Adam and says he really likes him. I'll take Will's word that Adam is a good guy and probably has changed.
  20. That "Mirjana's a bitch" thing bothered me more, but a few of them have said that. Maybe I shouldn't just be picking on Keith for that? Keith's entitled to say he's not attracted to Chantelle. I don't see the harm in that. We aren't attracted to every person who crosses our paths either. Another thing is: would anyone care if he said that if she didn't have vitiligo? Probably not. That said it was an unnecessary TH. I do the same as you. I think about my reaction if the sexes were reversed. COmputerGeek: Ah, thanks. I don't follow any of them on Twitter, but it's nice to know that some of them have come away from this competition as friends.
  21. I had the same thing happen to me in high school. Also, I reacted in the same way you did. That never happened again. I'm on the fence about Keith. He's pretty soft-spoken, which contributes (I think) to my confusion about what I think he's about. Thanks for mentioning the ex-contestant interviews because I haven't read or seen any of them. I miss Matthew. He was a sweetie.
  22. I want to marry your entire post. I feel like none of these contestants deserves absolute sympathy from me. I do like Will, but he gets caught up in the b.s. I really wish he wouldn't. When Chantelle returned, I knew there was going to be a lot of focus on her. Obviously she's booked jobs in the real world, so whichever edit the producers gave her didn't affect her job prospects after leaving the show. Will is too tall to model, but his face is stunning. I could stare at it for hours. I never know what to make of Keith, but he's made plenty of unkind remarks about his fellow contestants (mostly the female ones). For a guy who admitted (during a TH) that his mother is a lesbian, I'm kind of surprised by how he talks about women. I would think his mother would slap him upside the head for some of the crap he's said on the show. I know that's what I'd do. I want to like Lenox. I've said this before, but she's actually the most editorial looking out of all of them. While it might be due to tricky editing, she focuses way too much on other contestants and always has something pissy to say. If she were as badass as she wants people to think she is, then she should confront the sources of her frustration. Throughout this season, she's been overly obsessed with Mirjana and Chantelle. I don't understand why. Someone here mentioned she probably feels threatened and I think that's probably the case. I like Shei too, but in this episode, she kind of grated on me. I wanted her to be the type who doesn't resort to starting a fight. I don't think she should have said anything to Keith about Chantelle. As far as Chantelle is concerned, she strikes me as aloof. I've known people like that, but I know why they're like that. I'm not sure if it's a personality trait that will succeed in the fashion industry, but she has landed jobs and campaigns post-ANTM. I can't imagine what having vitiligo is like. She's only 19, so the bullying against her probably didn't end that long ago, when she would have still been in high school. For me, that explains the aloofness, but she also needs to lose a little more control. Watching the exchange between Yu and Chantelle made me physically uncomfortable and that never happens when I watch this show. I had a feeling that Yu wasn't going to let his opinion slide for a moment. He's very over-the-top. When he refused to call Matthew "Matthew" instead of Matt, I was in defense of Matthew. People's names are important to their identity. I don't like people assigning nicknames to me, especially when I've asked them to use my full first name. It's courtesy. So I'm on Chantelle's side about being called "Panda." She said she wasn't personally offended by the nickname, but she was worried about others who watch the show and might think it's OK to tease others with a similar skin condition. My sister has psoriasis (like Caridee!) and I know how awful that's been for her. I hope she doesn't get teased because I know she's insecure about it. Given the brouhaha over what Chantelle supposedly said or didn't say, we didn't get those scenes. For all I know, the editors really edited the hell out of the film. I think I was more offended by how Adam was portrayed. I get that he parties because he's naturally shy and uses alcohol to loosen up, but I felt like the show was pushing this idea that he's a raging alcoholic. I know plenty of men his age who still drink about that much alcohol. We don't see every second of tape. He's acknowledged that he parties and the others have said similarly, but again, editing. Acknowledging that he should cut back on the booze is fine, but painting him as an alcoholic is kind of dickish on the producers' part. I think it's going a bit far. That said I have to give Adam credit for staying out of all the drama. For that alone, I wouldn't have a problem seeing Adam make it closer to the finale. I don't think he has a prayer in winning, but he takes constructive criticism well and seems genuinely interested in improving himself. Early in the competition, I never thought I'd say these things about Adam.
  23. Tyra: "Adam, I loved how when the bombs were going off, you kept booching and smizing. My only critique is that you missed out on a little sidetoochedness."
  24. I think that's what's most striking to me. Obviously Diane has a new memoir to promote and yes, she's along for the reality show ride, but she seems "meh" on the whole thing. That's what I wondered. I can't remember which gal was with her and the boyfriend, but why didn't she say something? She would have been perfectly correct in doing so, even if would have caused genuine drama.
