  1. I definitely don't want Jason to win it.
  2. I think that she was probably throwing a little shade, plus part of the point behind the etiquette lessons is that Caroline considers it uncouth for guests to pass food back and forth. Juliet had a problem with the available cuisine. At my extended family gatherings, there are usually several options. Granted these are family get-togethers and for the most part, we know one another's food preferences. Is giving your host a list of things you won't eat pretty standard? I just assumed that hosts try to divvy up the available options without guests' input. On one hand, I think it seems wise to let your host know in advance what your food preferences are. On the other hand, it seems kind of obnoxious to tell the host what he or she should make, when that person invited you over for a free meal.
  3. The rap battle segment almost killed me. The guy looked like he wanted to belt Georgie.
  4. I started watching Hell's Kitchen back when it first aired. I've been on and off with it ever since. I only started watching MasterChef last season and Kitchen Nightmares in the past couple of years. Anyway, I'm rambling. I've been binge watching some of the Food Network shows, including Chopped. I don't know what it is, but I cannot get into Chopped. I feel like there are too many sob stories. I get that every reality contestant has a story, but as the title of this thread points out "Everyone is sad." For me, that's kind of a turn off. Everyone has a sob story. I'm interested in actual cooking and a worthwhile competition. From what some of you all have said, it used to be a different show. I'm not sure if I can stick with this one.
  5. When Luca got up to describe his dish and the camera panned to the women at the pool party, I half-expected the show's editor to put one of those twinkling white stars by Luca's teeth to sell his "hotness." He's not badlooking, but he's not gorgeous. I'm glad that he came back though.
  6. I think NPH is a very astute judge. Can they bring him back on the show as a fulltime judge? The man has great taste.
  7. I'm actually looking forward to giving this show another shot. I didn't watch Season 3. I'll be curious to see how they're going to change the format. If they do, that is.
  8. Exactly. When you look at it in that context, it makes perfect sense. I assume her children were born in Britain, but maybe they weren't? It's pretty easy to maintain dual citizenship in the US and in Britain, right? Only living in specific countries would make that next-to-impossible. I don't mind Marissa. The baby shower drama was kind of eyerolling, but for the most part, I think she prefers to stay out of trouble with the others. She seems eager for everyone to get along.
  9. I thought the same. I didn't think Marissa was renouncing her US citizenship. She's going to be a dual citizen. It makes sense, especially when it comes to her children.
  10. I actually like Caroline the best out of all of them. She's straightforward about things, but without being brash and tacky (like Juliet).
  11. "Why should you stay in Hell's Kitchen?" - You're about to give me the reason for getting rid of you.
  12. I know some have their issues with Scott, but he's been the only contestant who hasn't really annoyed me that much. YMMV. Rapunzel- This is true. They aren't going to get a head chef position. Rochelle would work well in a restaurant, but I think she needs to tone down the giddiness a bit, regardless of the position. I would prefer working with nice people (which she seems to be), but I wouldn't want to be around ones who pour it on too thick (which she seems to do at times). I'm not sure which personalities Gordon would rather deal with, but someone like him probably wouldn't last. Ego clash.
  13. Salmon has been the fish of choice for how many seasons? I can't remember. I've watched it on and off since the show debuted. Whatever happened to the turbot?
  14. I agree. It would be difficult to accept authority from Rochelle.I think it's cool that when she cut off part of her thumb, she took care of it immediately, and then returned back in time for dinner service. Joy and Melanie just went on and on about how gross it was. Really. It's not that gross. I've seen worse. I don't recall Rochelle making any mistakes once she returned either. Actually, she's made few mistakes this season. She just has to dial back the giddiness and girly girl crap. She's not working at a daycare.
  15. Rochelle, Rachelle, whatever her name is. I have no doubt that she's probably a nice person. That said her giggly behavior bugs the shit out of me. I know it shouldn't, but she and Jason are two extremes I would want to do without if I were working in that kitchen.
  16. Exactly. The best part of this season has been Stan Lee's commentary. He needs to do the HK narration.
  17. Except that Jason doesn't think Scott is good enough to wind up as one of the Finalists. Of course, Jason assumes he'll be one of the Finalists. Along with Melanie, since Joy walked out. He's a repulsive character, but there are lots of men in Chicago like him. I'm not surprised he's out of Chicago. I doubt he's a native. He's one of those douchebag bro transplants who lives on the North Side.
  18. Reading through this HK's dictionary had me laughing hysterically last night. Every entry is the truth. My eyes started watering after reading Monty's post: The same thoughts run through my head during the show.
  19. I'm so glad to have found a forum to discuss this show on. I had fully expected it to be a pile of poo when I saw the premiere episode commercial. Out of curiosity, I decided to watch it. I actually enjoyed it and have laughed a few times during the episodes. The way this show is executed is done in an intelligent way. Poppy and Georgie are funny. The actors/comedians have pretty good timing. I love watching people's reactions to them. The Boston episode is hilarious.
  20. I agree. I don't mind Photographer Tyra. She's far more tolerable. Otherwise, she gets on my nerves.
  21. Out of everyone referred to as a VIP this season (or probably every season), Stan Lee is the only genuine VIP who's been on the show.
  22. License To Drive is another stupid movie I'll watch whenever it's on TV.
  23. Valley Girl is one of my all-time favorites. Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead is a cheesy movie that I have to watch whenever it's on TV.
