  1. I could tell that Emma is Julie's daughter. Julie's a couple of years older than me. It's entirely possible for her to have a 16 year old daughter. I believe that Caroline S. is my age, but she looks much older. Hopefully, that's just the makeup because . . . wow.
  2. He mentioned that they always supported his filmmaking dream and he was grateful for that. Something along those lines. But he also said he based The Leisure Class on his wealthy friends. I felt as if he said it like he was some working or middle class kid who was given a seat at their table. Clearly he's just as privileged, but perhaps lacks some degree of self-awareness when it comes to his socioeconomic status. At least, that's what I gathered from what he's said.
  3. My favorite part of this episode is when Effie said in her TH that Jason's never held a real job. There's no way he lives like that in New York City, unless his parents are paying for it or his girlfriend is. He's never discussed doing anything else outside of filmmaking. An awkward moment for me was during the table read. There's a line in the script about "licking each other's assholes"? Oh, yeah. That's brilliant comedy right there.
  4. Ha! Diane looked disgusted. I could tell Chantal's mom wasn't that old just based off that Skype chat. While I'm sure Cree knew her time was coming to an end, the fact that she felt as though the others hated her probably helped make the decision to leave much easier. Who wants to be surrounded by people who hate you? I, too, felt as if Cree wasn't that interested in this competition. I'm not even sure why she decided to pursue it. What's funny is that Cat told Cree how much the others hate her, when I'm pretty sure that's how the others feel about her. If not more so. I really hope this isn't a setup that Cat will be one of the finalists. I'm ready for her to be gone. In last week's discussion, I mentioned that I had hoped Diane would call out Cat for her fibs. Well, the other ladies did that for Diane. Those embellishments about growing up in Paris, blah, blah. Cat has no redeeming personality traits. She's the woman who brags about "keeping it real" while undermining and trashing others. Even Hanna Beth, who I kind of liked for a bit, irritated me. I'm not rooting for any of them. They're all petty backstabbers. I watch for Diane, Jessica, and Stefani.
  5. Genetics are weird. Lol. Eh. I wish I were taller. I think I'm taller than my parents and sister. Or my dad and I are about the same height. He might be an inch or so taller. I agree with some of you here about Tim's skin. I wonder if (beyond rosacea) he's sick. I have to compose my thoughts on this episode, but not one of the designers wow'ed me this week.
  6. I'm 5'6". I wish I were taller and had long legs. Anyway. I, too, hate peplums. I don't think they're flattering, period.
  7. I'd rather see Gordon Ramsay as a judge than, say, Kelly or Tyra.
  8. When they showed Caroline F. riding to her grandmother's house (even before they showed what her grandmother's house looked like), I thought to myself "I'll bet her mother didn't come from money." Sure enough, her mother married into royalty. I don't know her mother's family's socioeconomic status, but based off her grandmother's house, I didn't think they seemed too well off. I'd say middle class. Maybe. That said it's nice to see that Caroline F. has such a warm relationship to that side of her family given that they're not exactly privileged.
  9. Hahahahaha. Hopefully he's an ex coworker now. ;-) I don't even know that I see Cat as one of the two finalists. For now, her drama kind of drives this season. I'm not entirely sure if I think Diane sees any real potential in having Cat work for her. I wonder if Diane's noticed Cat's tales about her upbringing. I keep hoping Diane will call her out on them at some point. Exactly. While I understand that people don't want to let their guard down too much during a competition, sharing a name or small piece of information like that isn't going to put them at a severe disadvantage. In this particular case, all Leigh wanted was a name. I think we're going to see another "breakdown" with Cat where we get more insight into who she really is. I'm not talking about the bitchslapping by Jessica. Although I'm glad Jessica's on this show because she has no qualms in pulling the contestants to the side to tell them that they're acting like asses. To clarify my earliest comment on Maytee, I understood her mindset in wanting to take those pictures. However, if Diane had wanted pictures for dvf.com, then she would have brought someone else in to photograph partygoers. You'd think the contestants would have assumed that that's what Diane would have done. Employers and "influencers" always dole out career advice such as "anticipate needs," "think outside the box, and "take initiative." Some of those would be employees, etc. who want to achieve success might take that advice to heart and use it for themselves. This is what I perceived Maytee as doing. As RCharter mentioned, Maytee thought she was taking the initiative and thinking that Diane would appreciate that. The reasons I thought Maytee came across as dense is because she couldn't articulate why she was competing in the show (canned pageant responses) and interrupting Betsey Johnson in the middle of an interview. Bad idea. Then again, as was mentioned in this thread, Cat did the same with Anna Wintour and I'm not sure why Diane didn't take exception to that. I can't figure out Diane when it comes to Cat. To me, it seems obvious that Cat's an unredeemable asshole.
  10. As I've said before, I think Julie got more than she bargained for by marrying a titled man.
  11. Going OT for a moment, I know people like Cat and they're some of the most exhausting people to be around. I wonder how long Cat will last in this competition.
  12. I've been tuning in to watch Effie because she fascinates me, but this week I was puzzled. I completely understand where she's coming from and that she felt as if her position was being undermined, but I didn't see that as being Farrelly's fault as much as it was Jason's. He's trying to get people mad at one another and he's succeeding. Effie's got the lowkey side to her, which we saw when she tripped and laughed off that incident. However, she became a little too defensive in that discussion with Peter. They talked over each other and it felt uncomfortable. I felt as if she jumped the gun when what I heard was that Peter was trying to convince Jason to use digital, which was why he was taking him to the second lab. She and Marc were arguing as you could heard Peter talk about how grain could be added to the digital to make it look like film. The whole thing was weird. Jason's just off doing his thing. Walking away from the drama he creates. At one point, even Pete Jones looks at the camera and in his face you could see "Whoa. I'm staying out of this one."
  13. I agree that Maytee came across as if she were competing in the Miss America pageant. Nothing she said had anything to do with why she went on this show, unless it was to get additional exposure. For which reason(s) I don't know. To draw attention to the fact that she has a fashion design degree? She was on Model Latina and did runway for some time. I guess she's trying out different fashion industry careers to see which one actually sticks. When Michael Herz told Maytee that there are reasons certain design ideas shouldn't and don't come into fruition, I thought that statement applied to Cree's monstrosity too. Sometimes Diane seems a bit too sympathetic to the contestants who are straight up assholes. It must be some kind of strategy because the assholes rather change their attitude. This is why I like Jessica because she'll pull these young women aside and tell them what's up.
  14. What was Maytee thinking saying that they should take pictures for dvf.com? She seems nice, but incredibly dense. That said I would have been fine with a double elimination because Alli from the Valley has almost no style. Then again, Cree's style is a bit questionable too, but damn if her illustrations aren't awesome. I wish I could draw as good as she can. The editing monkeys do a slightly better job of throwing off the viewers as to who's going to be eliminated than on shows like ANTM and Project Runway. I can't decide if I think that Cat has changed after her chat with Diane. I don't mind Hanna Beth.
  15. I like Caroline for the same reason, but I couldn't understand why she bothered meeting with Julie, since she was ragging on the whole idea to Luke. I think Julie's the most genuinely nice person out of their group. But like you said, why meet with someone if that person is an inconvenience to you?
  16. Tell me that crossover wouldn't have been STUNNING. Absolutely STUNNING. Kelly's personal aesthetic kind of frightens me. Even I didn't wear shit like that in the 80's. I agree with you that she's seemingly without ego. I like her working class background, as it reminds me of my own. I think she'd be fun to hang out with because she doesn't seem to take herself too seriously. I definitely understand Heidi's crush on Edmond, but she's behaving ridiculously and that's why it sticks out so much. She wouldn't know subtlety, even if it slapped her in the face.
  17. I think another All-Star cycle featuring Bello and Jade could be interesting. Throw in Devin and Romeo for good measure.
  18. I'm sure Heidi was the one who saved Laurie. Coochie cutters are right up Heidi's alley.
  19. It seems Heidi wants to get into Edmond's pants.
  20. I liked Kelly's green vest/jacket/flyaway/whatever. I'd wear it. I'm not much of a dress/skirt wearing woman, but I think it would have looked great paired with Edmond's black cigarette pants. I didn't mind Edmond's blue poof. Like Nina said (oh boy), it was dramatic. Since they were supposed to be inspired by a play, the clothing's supposed to be a little dramatic looking, no? I couldn't believe that Swapnil's look was safe. I would have liked to have seen that look win. I didn't mind Candace's, but it looked as if it would be uncomfortable to wear (not that that was a requirement), except that Laura's was hideous. I knew that Lindsey's auf was coming, but in this episode, I wished there had been a double elimination. Laura's model looked embarrassed to be wearing that mess. I would have felt the same way too. The Tim Gunn Save for Ashley is just around the corner. I can feel it. It looked as if she had been working on that dress while she was sleeping. I was waiting for Gordon Ramsay to show up as a guest judge, look her in the eye and ask "You've given up, haven't you?" I get where she was trying to go with that dress, but the execution was pretty bad.
  21. I was thinking the same thing. Technically, she's an "insider" who will always be the outsider so that must be kind of difficult to deal with every day. I think she got more than she bargained for by marrying into her husband's family.
  22. Exactly. Someone else here (can't remember who, sorry!) mentioned that those contracts were probably one-off deals. I can see that being the case too. Lol.
  23. Also, Bello said that during his exit. He's too good to give hugs. Lol. While Courtney could be annoying as hell, I do have to give her some credit. She didn't break down at panel when asked about her Vogue comment. She easily could have whined about having to help raise her disabled brother and avoiding Vogue because she didn't want to be confronted with pictures of things she is too poor to buy. She didn't play the "woe is me" card.
  24. Bello's "goodbye" was so over-the-top, but I was happy he was going. Until it dawned on me that he's already coming back next week. Why can't they eliminate contestants and just get the thing over with?
  25. I didn't understand the point either. Ridiculous. The Nyle doll (and real life version) looks hot. Also, I want to keep going with my Justin love, but what was with that pantsless waiter outfit he wore to panel? Burn it.
