S22.E16: Finale Part Two: America's Next Top Model Is…

I haven't watched it yet, since I arrived home five minutes ago. I'm glad to see that Nyle won. -

I would be perfectly content watching James March and Liz Taylor chew scenery for the rest of the season. The other characters are sort of just there. -

I agree with everything you said. I'm guessing most viewers figured out that John was going to be the killer, but I can't help feeling that I wish it hadn't been so obvious. As in choosing John to be the murderer was a bit of a cop out. I thought Evan Peters ruled this episode, but the backstory left me feeling "meh" about the reveal. A case of Ryan Murphy quickly trying to tie together all of the details. As I've been saying this entire time, Scarlett is the only decent character left and I hope she doesn't die or get turned. Hahn wasn't an evil character either and I was disappointed that John killed him. -

So do I! Oh, wait. You mean, you hope he pulls it off in the competition. -

I think the reason I decided that Mame was being bratty more than anything regarding her mother is due to her behavior toward the other contestants. At least, what we've been shown. However, you brought up many good points that I had been thinking about during the episode. I don't know why Mame's parents sent her off to the States to live with her uncle and aunt, but I'm guessing that they had a good reason to. I mean, I hope it was for a good reason. -
RCharter- I agree. This show is best for its snark. This is one reason I'd kind of miss it because I love coming to this forum and making fun of it. I have one friend who watches this show when it happens to come on and she's not busy doing other things. In fact, she's just caught up on this season and loves Nyle. (Don't we all? Well, most of us anyway.) Basically, I have this forum on which to make fun of the show. My options to snark on it anywhere else are (somewhat) limited. Lol. Mattipoo- I was thinking the same. If the show returned to TV (not Hulu, Amazon, etc.), it would likely end up on one of the channels you mentioned. We'd see the stars from the other shows rotated in and out as actual or guest judges and involved in the challenges. Although I watch E! for House of DVF (also good for snark) and Bravo for the MDL shows. Canada- SAME. I miss the format of the earlier cycles. I miss the runway challenge episodes when, at least, one person would have a major fall. I actually miss the two-hour premiere episodes when we'd meet several potential contestants and the crazy they'd bring while Mr. Jay and Miss Jay would make some of the funniest faces on the panel.

S22.E14: The Guy Who Was A Momma's Boy

I was not impressed with Mame in this episode. It's one of the more awkward things I've seen on one of these reality shows. She's trying to cause trouble (on camera) with her mother who was flown in from Ghana? What an ungrateful ass. -
Curiosity question: If ANTM came back on Hulu, Amazon, or through some other site, would any of you watch it? Even if, say, Tyra acted as not only the host, but also the makeup artist, hair stylist, art director, photographer, and judge? I'm thinking in terms of what I'd assume would be the budget. ;-)

Based off the next episode's preview, Justin is one of the returnees and seems upset with Mame. -
I couldn't agree more with you.

Welp. There goes that. I feel bad for the cast and crew.

1-10 Scale Janice: 10 Paulina: 8 Twiggy: 6 Can I substitute Tyra out for Nolé Marin? -
I agree. Keep her with her grandparents. And if she isn't the hero, I hope something bad isn't going to happen to her. I think she goes to a different school. Maybe?

To Annabelle's credit, she did defend Julie to Caroline S. Annabelle grew on me this season. I'm not necessarily sure what to think of any of them. I can only discuss what I see of them on the show. It'd be interesting to see if, offscreen, there are any close and genuine friendships between these women. The two Carolines notwithstanding.
-
One issue I have with Annabelle is that I've read up on McQueen and I don't think I've seen anyone reference he and Annabelle as best friends. My impression was that a bunch of them used to be party animals, drank a ton, and did coke. I'm not saying that Annabelle is overstating her relationship to Alexander, but she does talk about him like a grieving widow, which is kind of odd to me. On the other hand, I lost a close friend, although mine died in a motorcycle accident. Even now, every once in a while, he'll be on my mind. However, I'm not still grieving over him. Then again, he died in 2000. So maybe with time, Annabelle will move forward.
-
Scarlett's the only one I feel sorry for, so I hope she ends up being the heroine.
-
I think the show is getting interesting too. I like Karen and look forward to seeing that part of the storyline unfold. Also, I was briefly excited when a brief clip of one of my favorite songs "Just What I Needed" started playing. I, too, wasn't real sold on the "Should I Stay Or Should I Go?" cover.

Same here! -
As someone who is single and doesn't have children, I understand why Annabelle feels a bit left out. She's surrounded by women who are married and have kids. Well, CF is a divorcee, but she has kids. Annabelle needs to be around others her age who share a similar lifestyle. When friends are married or have children, it's difficult to find time to spend with them. That's just a reality based off their lifestyles. Obviously the ladies decided to do this show because they have some sort of project or business to promote. I'm guessing that's why Annabelle agreed to do the show: to promote her children's books and the book she's writing about Alexander McQueen. Having said that Annabelle doesn't quite fit in with the rest of the cast. She actually grew on me this season for that very reason. I'm not surprised that she isn't returning because she really doesn't have to anyway. She's promoted what she needed to promote and more people know who she is and what she's doing. I'm kind of surprised that she's friends with any of the other ladies, to be honest. They don't seem to be her speed.

Me neither. I think that Julie felt as if she, too, needed a quest storyline. Her life seems pretty average otherwise. Title, notwithstanding. ;-)

Ha! I remember that one too. Tyra, we get that you couldn't keep off the weight for those high fashion jobs. No shame in being who you are. She always wants the contestants to avoid looking too commercial, but she was commercial for most of her career. -

Something else I'll miss about Tyra is when she admonishes the contestants who are rumored to be starving themselves by calling them out during panel to let them know she got to where she is by eating ribs.
