I liked seeing April and Jackson together again. Glad they are moving to Boston together; I can easily foresee them getting together romantically in the future - especially with Harriet in the mix.

The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers - General Discussion

I really enjoyed the latest episode - where Gordon takes the Team to the outdoor ice and has them practice by passing their cell phones. Alex's blindfolded practice routine cracked me up. The show gets better each week - as the team continues to gel. -
I enjoyed the first episode - wasn't blown away - but I liked it. Now deciding whether I want to subscribe to yet another streaming service for just one show.

Murdoch Mysteries - General Discussion

Finally finished the final two-parter of Season 14. I thought it was well done even though I figured out pretty early on that Anna was still alive. TPTB have set up a bunch of cliffhangers to be resolved next season. I was sure that Miss Hart was going to kill her husband with the poison in order to inherit all of his money. Really like how welcoming and accepting Brackenreid's wife has been of his daughter. How did they get Effie into that tree?? -
The Brokenwood Mysteries - General Discussion

While it was nice to see Kristen take the lead on a case, I wasn't too thrilled with this final episode of Brokenwood. There was definitely something missing: no Frodo, no Mrs. Marlowe until the last scene and Mike off on his own sad trip. I also thought that the main mystery was not very good. On the flip side, seeing Trudy again was a plus. Brokenwood is still my favorite mystery on Acorn. I hope it is renewed for Season 8. -

I've never seen the original movie -- and I loved how the original group interacted with the kids and helped Bombay. Really enjoyed seeing the kids watching their big victory. They really looked like a cohesive group - and got two new recruits! -

I really like Reba's character as a sounding-board for Mary (other than Meemaw). I wonder what happened to Georgie's original crush - the religious blonde girl? Paige looked a lot older than Sheldon in those scenes. -
I started Backstrom last night (Acorn). Brilliant homicide cop faced with a victim who supposedly died years ago. Swedish with subtitles. Apparently will be facing internal department issues. Interested enough to watch the next episode. UPDATE: Finished the 6 episode first series. It was pretty good - but not nearly as good as many other Acorn or Britbox shows discussed here. I did like the friendship between Backstrom and his young neighbor sidekick.

Another excellent episode - the one with the Brokenwood Cinema. Loved Mrs. Marlowe, as usual. The new guy is fine but Breen is definitely missed. -
No - but I will now. Thank you!

Didn't the principal ask Billy if he plays football? I wonder if they are going to turn him into a football star? -

Loved the episode with the Hockey Moms competing and Koob coming out of his shell. That kid can sing! -
Now watching Money Heist on Netflix. I apparently missed the period in which this show became a phenomenon. It's good but not as entertaining as Brokenwood Mysteries, Vera, Shetland, and others.

I am waiting to see Brenda in a scene with Dale's former wife. I used to love the "Reba" series. I've read that Melissa Peterman and Reba are very close friends in real life. It was nice to see the continuity with the teacher and principal from the high school. I hope that we see the librarian again; she was a hoot. Poor Billy. His father leaves...and apparently his sister has disappeared. -
I thought the second episode, The Stitcher Society, was far superior to the first one: lots of suspects and red herrings, interesting setting for a murder, good acting - especially from the murderer. Barnaby and Sarah finally mentioned their daughter. Until they said her name, I thought that she had been erased. Love Fleur but not a fan of Winter - he is just there and doesn't add much.

I enjoyed Episode 4 as well. Nice to see Craig Hall, who played the police captain in Doctor Blake Mysteries. I had forgotten about Petra being in town. This show is one of my top mystery programs. I love the quirkiness of the townspeople as well as the relationship between Kristin and Mike. Definitely miss Breen but the new guy is fitting in well. -
Watched the fourth episode of Brokenwood Mysteries. Nice to see Craig Hall, who played the police captain on Doctor Blake Mysteries. This show remains one of my top favorites. I miss Breen but the new detective is fitting in nicely.

Just watched the first episode of Season 22 - The Wolf Hunter of Little Worthy. Not my cup of tea. While it was nice to see Siobhan Redmond and Matt McCooey (from Agatha Raisin), I thought the Wolf Hunter part of the story was dumb and too violent. I eagerly awaited the return of MM and was not pleased with this one at all. I continue to love Fleur, however.

Never watched the original. Have tuned in for Lauren Graham and am not disappointed. Some of the kids - especially the boy who was previously the announcer and pined for the cafe worker - are great. I loved their exuberance at scoring their first goal. -
New Jane Seymour Irish mystery series coming on Acorn: https://deadline.com/2021/04/jane-seymour-harry-wild-amc-acorn-tv-1234733983/ ETA: New mystery coming to Acorn on May 24 called Whitstable Pearl. It's about a restaurant owner who investigates crime together with a DCI in the English town of Whitstable. Looks interesting. https://thebritishtvplace.com/2021/04/whitstable-pearl-acorn-tv-sets-us-canada-premiere-date-for-new-mystery-series/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+TheBritishTvPlace+(The+British+TV+Place)

Loved episode 3. Trudy being in the thick of things at the bank... Kristen's vault to save the day... Frodo being supportive....all good. I miss Breen but the new guy fit right in. Poor Bernie. Glad that the young teller was not involved. -
I'm now watching Luna and Sophie - German police detectives who are childhood best friends. The cases are not particularly heavy and the banter between the two leads is fun. It's on Amazon from Walter Presents.

I noticed all of the outdoor scenes during the New South Mimico episode - - likely due to Covid. I usually can't stand the over the top Newsomes but I definitely laughed out loud several times during this episode. -
Could not edit my above post so apologies for two posts in a row. Watched Bloodlands yesterday -- thought it was quite poor. I really expected more given all of the build up. The last episode, in particular, was lousy. In contrast, just finished the three episodes of The Pembrokeshire Murders (Britbox) - which was excellent. It told the story of the solving of a series of related real-life cold cases.

S17.E11: Sorry Doesn't Always Make It Right

I can't believe that I am writing about how much Amelia has grown on me. I used to really dislike her character. She and Linc are terrific together. I hope that their happiness continues. They have really risen to the occasion by taking care of 3 kids and an infant while still being crazy about each other. No small feat. Loved seeing Bess Armstrong! OTOH, I still dislike Owen and Teddy.
