  1. Question about Prue's macaroons: what do you do with the rice paper? Do you eat it? Or peel it away? Why not just use parchment?
  2. I like Matt. He’s this calm, steady force, which I think has been missing since Mel left. Have we come full circle: Matt is Mel, Noel is Sue? (My assessment might be colored by not having seen Mel or Sue for quite some time, and by watching without the sound.)
  3. Is this accurate? The Good Place, Season 4, on Netflix this Saturday, 26 Sep 2020? Because I made my family wait so we could watch everything at once, rather than piecemeal (or on the execrable nbc.com streaming site).
  4. Pro tip: I use my sons’ accounts to park my overflow requests. 😏
  5. Super interesting dive into the Siege of Gondor.
  6. The Splendid and the Vile was the book that finally got me reading again. I went through a real dry spell in March and April--nothing mattered, nothing interested me. I did not expect to enjoy a book about Churchill's family as much as I did.
  7. "You’re fake laughing too, right?" "Oh, the tears are real."
  8. @skybolt, many thanks for these recaps. From what I can tell, Rob C does not caption his interviews, so I'm shit out of luck. Your recaps have been great.
  9. C'mon, it was still a great list. The absence of some writers doesn't reduce it.
  10. I'm glad Tony won: it was either him or Sarah. There's no way Natalie should have won. I now even hold Parvati, Tyson, and Jeremy's strategic aptitude suspect: they voted for Natalie! (Not sure Ethan, as nice as he is, ever had that much strategy.) Sure, Queen of Extinction, she stayed there the longest. Natalie started at the finish line in the battle-back challenge, but barely won. She did not break up the Tony, Sarah, Ben alliance: Sarah did. If Ben doesn't fall on his sword, Natalie might not even be at the FTC. Rob was right: she didn't play the perfect game, she was voted out first. I was rooting for Tony to get a perfect game: no tribal votes and every final vote. He came close. Never will I ever watch another EOE edition of Survivor (although I hope to watch another season someday). EOE is the worst twist ever. There have been 37 worthy winners (give or take Bob): this I believe.
  11. That was weird, yeah, because Mario had been extremely consistent calling Skoopin "Bob Johnson," complete with a black bar over his eyes. Why he didn't do that for this entry was a sour note. Because Lisa W is probably my favorite player, and the non-"Bob Johnson" dragged down an otherwise good entry.
  12. Nothing new here, still maybe worth a read.
  13. Not necessarily. Everything we’ve seen lately indicates that “alliances” shift from episode to episode.
  14. You know, to be queen, you have to be married to the king (or vice versa). That means Amber is queen. 😉
  15. Simmotion (also known as Always on the Run) is one of my favorite challenges (you've seen it in Tocantins, South Pacific, Cambodia, Ghost Island, and David vs. Goliath). This guy would absolutely kill it:
  16. Is this media? I don’t know; hope you enjoy it anyway. The Food Place
  17. You can edit Elf to look like a horror movie. Have you seen that? “If you give me six lines written by the hand of the most honest of men, I will find something in them which will hang him.” -Cardinal Richelieu Back to the point, I know the Dans, the Will, the little troll, they’re all shitty people. But I also know Stephanie got a hero edit one season and a shit edit the next. Colby got a golden edit one year and a Fat Ass edit another. I think Danni’s strategy—“give them nothing, NOTHING”—is the way to go. Michelle did that last time; she’s not this time.
  18. I think it's deliberate. Lowers his visibility.
  19. Asimov. So disappointed that he was such a handsy, condescending creep. I should have totally seen it coming--the clues in his joke books and autobiographies are obvious. His work is outstanding, but I can't read them now, knowing what a DOB he was.
  20. That's right! Kim Wins! That's the lie (??) I believe.
  21. Davie said that was just a convenient editing story.
