  1. Who are your favorite authors? I will read anything by Alice Hoffman. Also loved Paula Wall's "The Rock Orchard." Fall right in to just about any mystery series -- am reading one of The Lincoln Lawyer books now.
  2. Thank you! I'd read he d released a chapter but haven't yet read it. The last two books, he was so verbose I ended up skipping chunks to get to the plot line so am glad to hear good mentions about this.
  3. It debuted 25 years ago? Wow. Think I just heard my bones creak. I loved Quantum Leap.
  4. You beat me to it; was going to say I'd swing by Aldi's to grab the makings for BBQ tuna and some turkey bacon for the house party. And some goose eggs to scramble and ingredients to make detergent for the party favors.
  5. I wonder what they think of the recent scandals surrounding Doug Phillips of "Vision Forum" (Michelle spoke at one of his conferences) and Bill Gothard. The show has turned down some of the references to Gothard in later years, but think Jana, Jill and Ginger (maybe Jessa also) used to go to the conferences they'd host and the whole family would load up the bus to go to Big Sandy, TX for conferences. Didn't one of the older girls intern or work at ATI headquarters in Indiana? Which, incidentally, is where another conservative minister with the IFB, Jack Schaap, was sentenced to 12 years after a similarly monikered "inappropriate relationship."
  6. I don't think it is product placement; they've had Macs for years for their online homeschooling, from what I remember of past episodes. Many of the older kids are in to photography (Jessa especially?) and maybe they use the Macs for that and video capability.
  7. Manuka honey is a great sweetener as well. It's pricey and a bit stronger tasting than Agave, but pretty tasty. I'm also an omnivore; so these may not be up your alley, but are go-tos for spring and summer here; maybe with a few subs like soy cheese they could work for you? Marinated Corn Salad Shoe peg corn Chopped/diced tomato Chopped/diced cucumber Chopped/diced red onion Ranch dressing Mix and let marinate in the fridge. It's better the longer it marinates. Tomato Tart (this is good with the addition of sliced onion and can be made without the pie crust) Roll out one refrigerated pie crust into pie pan. Coat bottom lightly with Dijon. Placed sliced tomatoes brushed lightly with olive oil, sprinkle shredded cheese to taste (recipe calls for mozzarella; I use a mix of it and cheddar) and top with chopped fresh basil. Repeat layers until pie pan is full. Bake at 350/30 or until done to your liking. ETA, just remembered reading about a vegan chocolate mousse recipe some one posted on FB. Searched for it, and came across this link. Sounds similar, and I'd like to try it: http://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-11379/the-best-vegan-chocolate-mousse-youll-ever-put-in-your-mouth.html
