  1. Before reading all the discussion about Steve and the alternate timeline, when I watched End Game I just assumed that Steve went back in time and waited to ctch up with 'the movie'. Obviously he kept all his memories and so when it got close to the date where he went back in time he hopped on the bus and got himself to the location (Avengers compound?) and sat on the bench waiting for Sam to see Steve go back in time and then boom! surprise Sam. After the scene, Steve hopped on a bus and went back to his retirement village. So there was no need for Steve to jump into our universe as he was still in our Universe. I learnt ages ago it's best not to think about time travel in movies as it does my head in trying to match everything up. So it's easier for me to find a dumb simple answer that my brain can cope with haha.
  2. My main issue with the plotting of the film was the double prologue exposition at the start that then got repeated during the movie. There was so much repeating of the opening prologues within the main story that in the end something should have been removed - either we got the opening expositions OR we got flashbacks not both. And I feel maybe we should have lost the prologues and just been thrown into this unknown world and learn about it as we went along. BUT I do understand from a young kids point of view why they wanted the prologues, so therefore we should have lost the flashbacks - mainly thinking of the dragon's original loss in battle. Alternatively. both Prologues could have been included with Raya telling Sisu how the last stone broke and then Sisu's explanation would not sound repetitive when she told the dragon's involvement in Kamandra etc.
  3. Quick question that the Falcon and Winter Soldier series has raised for me. Is Steve dead in the MCU present? Every one keeps talking about Steve in the past tense, especially when discussing Sam and the decision he made with the shield. I know that Chris Evans isn't available for the show but there are some plot points that could be solved/answered if one of the characters just rang Steve and asked him. No one has even just thrown out a 'Let's call Steve and ask him!' making me think Steve passed away between End Game and the start of this series.
  4. Benedict's boy toy? Anthony's new BFF since Simon will no longer be around The paperboy who delivers Lady Whistledown's paper to the masses The Bridgerton's chimney sweep.
  5. The Justice is Gray edition is available for viewing in Australia. Maybe I should get around to watching the coloured version.
  6. I'm actually kinda happy that Simon isn't returning. There is no bigger turnoff for me then when a show decides to create fake drama in a relationship for the sake of drama. I haven't read the books but based on what the show delivered, the concept is to provide, in true romcom fashion, a happy ever after for the couple featured. I knew that Simon and Daphne were going to end up together, that was never in doubt how there got there was what kept me watching (among other things). So I don't need the writers to create unnecessary drama to give the actors 'something to do' and ruin the happy ending. Sure I'll miss seeing Simon on screen but I'll also be content seeing more of Anthony on screen as well. And hopefully Benedict. Now if she disappears from our screen, I will be disappointed. I really enjoyed her snark.
  7. So let me get this straight 2 episodes in a row Kevin has had a major plot line? The writers knew that I quit this show when they 'finished' in the third episode and are desperate to get me back into this hot mess aren't they?
  8. I'm trying not paying attention until the week it starts. I find the competition more enjoyable going in blind with the songs and found I enjoyed the results more if I experience them as part of a TV show rather than obsessing over the songs in the months leading up to it, No opportunity to fal in a love with a song and then watch it get booted at the semi finals. Of course there is a good chance I will break down and listen to some of the songs before hand as this competition is a major guilty pleasure.
  9. I actually miss the classic Disney villain. Where they are evil because the story says they are and they are evil from the start until their death. I think Dr. Facilier was the last true Disney villain (I'm ignoring those twist villains like the ones we got in Frozen and Wreck It Ralph). Actually maybe I just miss a really good villain song.
  10. I need Dr Strange 2 NOW!! Not 2022. I need to get Billy and Tommy back! More coherent thoughts may occur later after a good night's sleep. But overall I was very happy with the finale.
  11. I don't mind if the show sets up events for Doctor Strange 2, but what I do mind is if the set up is a major cliffhanger that only seeing Doctor Strange 2 can resolve. Except for Infinity War (and maybe Thor Ragnorak), I technically can watch all the Marvel movies as stand alone and have decent closure at the end of each movie but still have a desire to see more. I'm just hoping for a general conclusion to a TV series that is satisfying by itself. Oh and I want the twins to still be a thing. Even if it ends in them be teleported to a multiverse somewhere. As long as they are still in existence I will be happy.
  12. That was my reaction as well. I was kinda hoping for a cameo from real Pietro to be honest. Because I do prefer MCU's Pietro to Fox's Pietro.cThat was the only disappointment for me this episode. Other that that I really enjoyed all the backstory presented. As a non comic book reader it was great to see. Also very interesting that we have 2 people with very different agendas for wanting to know the truth behind Wanda's powers. I've wanted more of her story since she first appeared in the MCU. Amazing acting from Elizabeth in this episode. Good to see the boys are still alive...for the time being. Is there really only 1 episode left? I feel there is so much that needs closure.
  13. WOW!! I had no idea. I had always assumed the show started when he was 16 based upon Tom Welling's appearance. Thanks for the education. My mind is blown.
  14. Smallville started when Clark was 14??
  15. When I was watching Captain Marvel the first time, I remember thinking now that the MCU has fully introduced the whole Kree/Skrull conflict that it would make introducing Hulkling into the MCU so much easier for the non-comic book followers to understand his backstory without having to go into major plot details of the battle history. I confess I have only read the Young Avengers comics from the Marvel stable, and that's because of the Wiccan/Hulking relationship. But I didn't have access to the original series that introduced the gang as a team. When I did net research and came across the first Billy/Tommy moment I remember thinking I hope the MCU doesn't go down that path as it seems unnecessarily complicated. But the MCU has taught me to have faith in the way they introduce people. So fingers crossed The Twins don't get vanished. I can cope with a memory wipe and being placed with adoptive parents but not a true wiped from existence because the TV show is over.
  16. I have finally just caught up with everything that is WandaVision and I have one question that keeps bugging me every episode. When is it set exactly in the MCU timeline? Obviously it's after the Hulk Snap, and I assume it's after Tony's funeral. But is it also after Steve returns the stone? Do I just assume it is occurring sometime after the end credits rolled on End Game?
  17. They better be. Because I really want a Young Avengers movie. The MCU can't tease me with Billy and Tommy and then make them disappear with a hand wave that they never truly existed.
  18. The time period Bridgerton is set in is known as The Regency. At this time The Prince of Wales was acting as Price Regent - King in everything but name basically - while his dad was experiencing bouts of madness. The King was kept away from court when he wasn't lucid, so therefore the Queen was living apart from him and didn't know what was happening unless she was given reports. So in that scene she had jumped to the conclusion the messenger had arrived to inform her that George had succumbed to his madness. All of Britain knew the King was alive, if he was dead (or The Queen had told people he had died) then the Prince of Wales would have been King and not Regent. The Regency officially spanned the years 1811 - 1820. Informally the Regency era last from 1795 until 1837
  19. For Riverdale, this was a really, boring mundane episode. For a standard teen drama it was a good episode, even with the occassional eyeroll. As someone who has been with this show from day one, it felt very close to a series finale. I actaulyl said to a friend at work today who hadn't watched this episode yet, that if they want to quit Riverdale (cause we are kind hate watching it now) she needed to watch this episode as it would give her closure that will allow her to be done with Riverdale if she wanted to. I won't be surprised, if in hindsight, I look back on this episode the same way I look back on that episode of Glee in Season 5 before they moved full time to New York. This was the series finale and everything aterwards I can ignore if I want to. My only real disappointment in the episode is we didn't really get a sense of what Kevin and Reggie were heading for their 7 year gap. I honestly cannot remember if the show told me what they were doing after graduation. Oh and Riverdale writers, that Green Day is not about what you think it is about. As a teacher, that song is on my personal banned list for Graduation ceremonies due to people's misunderstanding of the true meaning. I mean it's right there in the song title Good Riddance. It's not a happy, reflective song about positivity. I cannot hide my eyerolls whenever it is trotted out at a school assembly saying goodbye to a year group.
  20. I'll start with the positive, I only fast forwarded through the Lodges storyline. I actually paid attention to Archie's plot and thought it was quite well done I was very disappointed in the reveal of Jellybean being behind the videotapes and the lame reason behind them. But then this show has resolved their mysteries satisfactorily since Season 1. Glad the writers remembered they had Chuck & Chic as lovers but serious question who else did Chuck kill apart from the murders this episode? Cause honestly I cannot remember anything about that plot and why it was given a Murder, She Wrote reveal if it was just Bret and Video Guy! This was a head scratcher for me as well. That I may have yelled at the TV 'He's your brother as well' The Blossoms plots still feel like they are a totally different show to Riverdale. Enjoyable crazy but still bizarre it occurs on this show..
  21. Why do I keep thinking this show is going to return to the Season 1 glory? 13 minutes to go in the episode and they decide to squeeze in the big senior prom. Something US television shows and movies has taught me is the most important event for a high school. Does anybody on this show even care about quality? Although I do admit I got a big chuckle out of them playing Kiss Me (Dawson's Creek/She's All That) and Closer To Free (Party of Five) at the prom. I couldn't work out a teen drama link to The World I Know though. Regarding the pointless Katy Keene crossover since its been cancelled, KO was visiting before the actual timeline of Katy Keene correct?
  22. I'm guessing the contracts signed by many involved in the production of a MOVIE prevented the cut being presented as a TELEVISION SERIES, and that WB/HBO realised it would be cheaper to dump it as a 4 hour movie than to pay all that extra money to the workers as dictated by the contacts.
  23. I'm happy to get my Cyborg fix from Doom Patrol, I find him to be a more interesting and complex character there than anyting I saw in Justice League.
  24. I can tell you that this man is very appreciative that this show is more concerned with the female gaze. Especially with this episode. I was discussing this with a friend and her response was 'There was a missing sister?' I think there are some people who may be shocked when a 4th sister appears again. I so hope he gets his groove on with Granville, the male though. Wishful thinking I know. I watched The Madness of King George the other night, because of this show. And I found it interesting that when George in this show started to relapse, the courtiers started to try and hold him in his chair which was very similar to the technique used by the physician in the movie to cure and control George's outburst. Not sure if the method was factual or not but it was a nice touch. I hope Pen and Eloise can mend their friendship. And I hope Colin wakes up to the entrapment. I understand why Marina is doing what she is, but can't she do it to some other nice guy? Anyone but Colin haha. Comedic highlight of the episode for me.
  25. It's not that he can't father children, it's that he doesn't want children since he made that vow to his evil father that the Hastings line will end with him (Simon). So his statement that he can't give her children isn't that he can't physically give her children, but thaat he has no desire to have children like Daphne does.
