  1. I was coming hear to ask the same thing. I assumed I was meant to recognise some of them but as a non-viewer of the animated series I didn't. Although I'm wondering if the little boy was one of the younglings from the prologue of Episode I Speaking of Episode I I realised that these episodes are named I-VI just like all 6 movies that Obi-Wan has starred in. I admit I am getting a little tired of the Leia storyline, I feel it's dragging on a bit too much. But maybe that's only cause I want to have a decent young Luke scene before he goes all whiny haha. Poor Wade, why does Star Wars have a way of making me feel sorry for a death of a person who has one line and 5 seconds of appearance before they die? Been meaning to comment on how great the score is, for someone not using the main themes Holt really has captured the sound of Star Wars. It's like you are hearing the themes and then realising you aren't actually hearing the theme you think it is - although I did miss the heroic theme that Williams would have used when those fighter planes came in and starting shooting up the place. And also been meaning to comment that I could see how this series could have been a stand alone movie with all the beats its hitting and the way a Star Wars movie tends to pan out, they are just allowed a little more breathing room between moments as a TV series. Also very disappointed that Vader didn't follow through with the coke hold on Reva, I'm ready for her death especially with her telegraphing the crap Leia is going to go through in ANH with Vader. I was generally worried about the fate of Tala since she doesn't make it to ANH or even Rouge One.
  2. If that happens I may tune in for the final season instead of just reading about the ridiculousness here. But I haven't truly enjoyed Riverdale since Season One concluded, so it's a really strong may.
  3. Man I really should finish the second half of The Spanish Princess before this drops. I've just struggled to keep interest and keep forgetting I haven't finished it
  4. That was me. I won't get around to watching the episode until Saturday - it's become a ritual for me to watch the episode while scoffing down my Saturday Subway. I will now change my expectation from light frivolity to heavy angst.
  5. I would like to see at least one scene of Luke interacting with Obi-Wan just to show us that Luke knows about Old Ben from person and not just via town gossip. The way he says 'Old Ben' in ANH always made me think Luke saw Obi-Wan walking around the markets like the town's resident old man. I'm imagining we should get it since they brought back Aunt Beru's original PT actress and all we've seen of her was a random figure from the distance, which any extra could have fulfilled.
  6. Wow, I was not expecting this show's brief detour into becoming How to Get Away With Murder and thank goodness it didn't go down that eventual path. I'm tuning in for the soppy love story and Theo's time jumping (oil and everything) and I wasn't prepared for the deep philosophical and moral questioning a murder would have presented. I have really enjoyed the scenes between the different Henrys and the young Clares. The show (especially Theo) have gone to great lengths to show that Older Henry is just being a friend to Clare at this age although from his line about being naked in the presence of Clare-16 it was getting a little bit more difficult to keep it all platonic (which I guess is understandable when the teenager is starting to resemble the wife you know). Speaking of husband and wife, I may have let out a gasp when he yelled at Jason that he was Clare's husband especially after he had worked so had to keep that info from her. I wasn't expecting it to be that moment that he revealed the truth to Clare. I admit for a while at the start I was watching the wrong recording as I was sitting there thinking haven't I seen this scene already and it kept going like it wasn't a recap. Only thing convincing me was Oldest Clare's narration to the camera which I thought was maybe to a child but Henry said they don't have children so not totally sure who is re-watching them since Henry is dead. And speaking of dead Henry, it does seem like the show is setting up that either Dad or Douchebag Brother is going to be responsible for Henry's death. After two very heavy episodes, I hope the next one gives us some breathing space and is a bit more light hearted being we have to deal with Henry's death.
  7. I admit after reading what the plan was it didn't exactly feel me with excitement only because it kinda sounded like perhaps the screen time for the group together would not be as high cause of the young trainees but it could have potential as I imagine it wouldn't have been the whole season stuck in prison. Plus I admit I was watching more for the throwaway jokes than plotpoints. My biggest disappointment with the cancellation is that I don't get to see more of the Gwyn/Alun story development. I was more excited about that prospect than Booster Gold.
  8. Just do what I plan to do on rewatches, press stop after Gary asks if there is any chocolate sauce on board. No cliffhanger and its all happy happy joy joy haha
  9. Agree. I watched the credits to confirm that they brought him back cause he sounded like classic Vader compared to the work he delivered in Rogue One. When they were talking about Trade Routes my first thought was damn I really should have listened to all that mumbo jumbo in TPM. Haha. The Vader/Kenobi faceoff was intense. I knew both had to survive but I had no idea how Kenobi was getting out of the pickle he was in. And then throw in the bizarre presentation of how people were moving through that tunnel I honestly didn't expected Tara (?) to save the day. I thought she was gonna be meeting Reva running back through those tunnels first. So I'm assuming Leia is the McGuffin of this series so stuff can continue to happen? Thankfully they dialled her precousiness down a lot this episode and I found her more bearable. I'm not that clued up with Jedi talent, but based on the conversation Leia had with Obi-Wan about her real mother - is it possible for Leia to get a sense of Obi-Wan's memories of Padme (and show that happening perhaps) which would allow that line in Jedi about remembering her mother finally make sense in some kind of way? Also, as a movie only Star Wars fan should I know who Quinlan is/was?
  10. Yep I agree. As someone whose knowledge of this Universe's time period is literally end of Sith jump to Rougue One (with a slight detour of nothingness with Solo) all I needed to know was that the Inquisitors are Jedi that defected to the Dark Side (basically) and that's all I need to go forward with them. My only issue with this episode is the concept that Leia or Obi-Wan were in any kind of mortal danger cause I knew they had to survive to make it to ANH. I think that's why I was more worried about that other Jedi hiding on Tatooine surviving in Episode 1 than anything that happened in Episode 2.
  11. So glad this episode gave a quick explanation to what The Inquisitors are for those of us who haven't watched the animated shows. And after finding Leia adorable in Episode 1 by the end of this episode I was finding her annoying and I'm hoping Obi-Wan dumps her on Alderaan and we don't have to deal with her long periods of time. I found it laughable that all those that were chasing Leia could not run faster than a 10 year old who appears to not be the fastest runner in the world.
  12. Full disclosure I'm a Star Wars Movie Fan. Have not watched any other live action tv shows, and only seen random episodes of the animated shows. The only knowledge I have about this universe is from the movies. So I have no idea who the inquisitors actually are, except that the Third Sister seems to be that character who is out to kill the main character so the series can have DRAMA!! which we know won't result in anything cause ANH I loved the recap of the prequels, I even texted my friend saying she could watch the Obi-Wan series cause they do a recap that covers all the important plot points of the prequels (although I wonder putting the appearance of Jar Jar Binks into the recap is a hint he appears in this). While I didn't find the PT as brilliant as the OT, I still enjoyed them and I didn't think it ruined the story told in OT and actually served a purpose as opposed to the ST, which seems to exist only for money. For ages, it felt like the people who owned Star Wars wanted to ignore that the PT exists (I'm pone of those people who inwardly cheered anytime a slight PT reference was made in the ST films) so it's great to have so many of the original PT actors back for this show. Joel Edgerton really has nailed ANH Owen, it's like they are the same actor. I'm looking forward to seeing the Beru actress close up. And I hope we get to see some interaction with little Luke. Was not expecting little Leia in this at all. So that was a nice surprise, I see she has always been a bit of go getter and I loved the little nod to her mother Padme, who always used decoys in the PT. I may have let out a YES! when C-3PO made an appearance (or cameo) oipefully R2-D2 makes an appearance as well. The scene between Obi-Wan and the other Jedi in the desert was very heartbreaking for both involved. The Jedi cause his hero has given up and for Obi-Wan cause he has lost hope. I was hoping my gut feeling was incorrect but alas it was not to be and the Jedi got caught and killed. I guess it makes sense because by the time we get to ANH the only Jedis left should be Vader, Kenobi and Palpatine, but still did he have to die so early. Quick question: Is this occurring at the same time as the Solo movie?
  13. As with all time travel shows/movies I'm leaving my brain at the door trying to work out the loops and actions. I'm just here for the story and Theo's nudity haha. I quite enjoyed that they spent basically a whole episode on one incident in Henry's life to reveal more about his condition and to get the romance back on track. I am really enjoying this show after 2 episodes. And I may even watch the movie after the series wraps up to compare the two - I imagine the movie is going to be zipping through the plot compared to the series. I have to say, the encounter of the 2 16 year old Henrys was the funniest thing I have seen all week. I was not expecting that at all. I had to ring my friend who has seen the movie to ask if that moment occurs and she said 'I don't recall Eric Bana doing that to himself. I'm gonna say no, cause I would remember that'. What Henry did as a 16 year old is something a 16 year old would probably do if they could time travel. It's classic horny teen boy behaviour.
  14. I initially watched the trailer without sound on and thought 'Wow! This movie looks way better than what the teaser was pushing'. Then later in the say I was able to watch it with the volume on and my reaction went from 'Wow!' to 'There are really just pushing the Ragnorak humour to get us into the cinema' While I am almost sure that Taika will deliver a balanced tone of serious and humour, it's disappointing that the trailer cutters aren't prepared to show us the serious side of this movie and that's why I find Gorr's part in the trailer a tonal juxtaposition and like he is part of a different movie. I loved Ragnorak but I also don't want Love & Thunder to be non stop bro comedy, that's not why I enjoy Ragnorak - it helped brighten up the Thor series for sure after Dark World but based on all the promotion this movie is getting I am a bit concerned about the tone and overall style. Ragnorak's trailer was drama with a side of comic quips. This trailer implies Love & Thunder is comic quips with a side of drama. And honestly there is a good chance after watching I'll be all 'Eh I was worried for nothing - this is the greatest thing ever' but so far the trailer has me doubting that. Also not sure about all the 80s aesthetics attached to the movie as well.
  15. Some moments from the trailer gasv me Batman & Robin vibes. And tonally Colin Farrell's character seems so out of place. I'm just hoping the marketing department is just cranking up the humour for promotion since that's what a lot of people enjoyed from Ragnarok. It looks like fun, but at the moment it feels more like a parody of an MCU movie than an MCU movie.
  16. I remember when the movie came out thinking it had an interesting premise, but then it got mixed reviews and I forgot to make time to watch it and now in 2022 there is a TV series. So I have no idea what is going on but after this episode, I am going to have to try really really hard not to watch the movie to see what happens. Cause I'm guessing it involves more than just Henry jumping around in time before he presumably dies and we all cry buckets of tears with Claire. I really enjoyed it, I really appreciated the little tidbits of future/past events that were then shown to us so we could understand Henry's time travelling experience. I thought they were well done. I admit I chuckled at the grooming line - you just know they through that in there to acknowledge and ward off the Twitterverse. But they also made it very. very clear that older Henry has no intention of being anything more than an 'imaginary friend' to young Claire. That wig they put Theo James in for older Henry makes him look like Dermot Mulroney and was a bit distracting. I wasn't a fan of Claire-20's outburst at Henry-28 having a girlfriend. What did she expect Henry to do, sit around and wait for her? Although I do get the whole thing of he should have told her he had a current girlfriend but still... I like how Henry is allowed to interact with himself and not cause any major time travel mumbo jumbo time continuum crap that often occurs in time travel stuff. I also appreciate the rule that time travelling causes you to lose your clothes. I am more than happy to have Henry time travel every 5 minutes and see where he travels to. Cause I am shallow. Just don't do any plot exposition until he is clothed.
  17. I know that, but when this show said it was Alexander The Great in the tomb I took it as a nod to Reilly's farfetched book. Even though I know it wasn't a nod or anywhere near the truth. I mean we are dealing with an interconnected universe with a talking racoon, tree, magical stones and time travel. So it really isn't that implausible for it to be Alexander's tomb in the MCU
  18. You just know that the public are sitting back, patting themselves on the back for solving the current crisis in Ukraine. And now they can resume their lives having achieved world peace. I am absolutely blown away with how well the UK did this year. Totally blown away. Shame that a war broke out cause it would have been incredible to see a country go from Zero points on year to winning it the next. Hopefully this is the wake up call the music industry in the UK needed in regards to this contest. I hope he finds genuine success on the UK charts. After Dami Im scared Europe with almost winning the contest, it is very clear that while the Jury appreciates our efforts with our songs, the public is definitely over Australia being in the contest. And you know what, it wouldn't bother me if we weren't asked back after 2023. I still enjoy the Contest for what it is AND in fact I find it more enjoyable when we aren't in it. And truth be told, I stopped seeing what our points were once UK starting zooming to the top of the table. And I always forget, until the public votes are revealed how out of sync I am with the Australian public's music taste.
  19. As a reader of Matthew Reilly books, especially his Jack West series that starts with a National Treasure/Da Vinci Code look at the Seven Ancient Wonders, the reveal in Moon Knight fit perfectly with that book. I guess you could say Matthew Reilly had primed me for this reveal and for me to sit their going 'Eh, makes sense' Haha
  20. I am gutted they didn't make it. I honestly thought they had that right amount of memorability to get through. I'm actually surprised with how 'boring' the finalists are from semi-final. Not that they are bad songs, but I didn't expect Europe to embrace so many ballad-y songs. I expected most of the rockier songs to be ignored - due to the idea they are just copying last year's winner but I didn't expect the big swift to embracing the slow songs. Will be interesting to see what happens with Semi-Final 2. I actually still need to watch Semi-Final one in full before I give a true critique of the performances from today, 5am on a workday does not work well for this Aussie. But I will say I am glad that Europe still loves the whacky and put through Give That Wolf A Banana. My conceren for this year is Ukraine winning though the sentimental/supportive votes. The song is decent and I won't be disappointed if it did win but it's no SHUM that's for sure. My concern is that I am sure the actual country of Ukraine has other things they would prefer to spend money on then hosting a song contest at the moment (even if in means it is held in another country by defacto in a simialr vein to if Australia wins they would still need to cough up some money for the contest).
  21. Quick question @Zonk and I'll put in spoilers just in case
  22. Favourite MCU TV series so far for me. And I think because it was so self contained with no links or influence on any other property. That final episode just flew by. And while it keeps it open for more appearances it has a nice conclusion if nothing does eventuate with the character. The reunion between Marc and Steven in the Duat was quite moving and so glad that Steven didn't stay dead and he learnt some moves while dead. From the previouslies, I knew we were going to get the 3rd identity but then the show ended and I thought guess not, I didn't expect the mid credit sequence to be so revealing from a plot point of view. Usually it's just a fun Easter egg. We got Jake and we got the death of Harrow. Although, the mid-credit sequence does confuse me about if the Asylum is real or not OR was Harrow in a different asylum. While I know it keeps the character of Moon Knight active, if only Marc and Steven knew about Jake so they could be free of Khonshu forever. Steven should have said free this body forever, not just free Marc and I. Love Layla telling Khonshu he has to be joking about using her as an avatar. Loved that she didn't just go with the flow. I hope she keeps being Tawaret's avatar though. Was her superhero in the comics, or was this created for the show? Oscar Isaac's performance throughout the show was amazing, the way he easily switched between Marc and Steven and allowed us to quickly know who was who was incredible. I'm really impressed with how he made it feel like the two identities were separate people that you cared about for different reasons. And I'm so grateful there was no references to the multiverse.
  23. I hope you are right. I gave up on What If...? after 2 episodes. It honestly just felt like fan fiction inspired by the events of the Loki series and I told myself because it is animated if won't have any real connection to the MCU. But with the appearance of Captain Carter I guess I was wrong. At this stage, I'm not totally in love with the Multiverse concept for the MCU, but I'm happy to hold off my final judgement until after MoM
  24. I've only read the books once and years ago, maybe even a decade but this was covered in the book? When I was watching those scenes, I felt like I had the sotry explained to me before, but couldn't remember if it was in the HP saga or in the book. So I wasn't imagining things that I technically knew some of the stuff shown about the Dumbledore family before watching this movie.
  25. I'm the opposite. I'm excited I get to see new Ant Man sooner than expected.
