S12.E22: Who We Are/S12.E23 All Along the Watchtower
roctavia replied to Diane's topic in Supernatural
Huh... well, that's one way to end the season, I suppose. I was hoping for something more happy ending-ish like last season, like if they didn't know they were going to have another season and there was a good way to end things just in case.... Sad to see Crowley go, because he was always fun... though I agree that he hasn't had much to do the last several seasons. Sick of Lucifer and I hope we don't have to visit him much in bizzaro land. I assume he's going to try and attack Mary but then Bobby will come to her rescue. Lucifer wanted an apocalypse, didn't he? I fully assumed that Cass was talking to both Sam and Dean about if they were never born (it never crossed my mind that he wouldn't be). This is a world where Mary fell in love with John but never married him- perhaps a world where she didn't make the deal to save his life. So it's a world where no Winchesters were born. And they've stopped so many apocalypses that any of them could have played out into a demon/angel war. Not sure what to think about Cass dying. It seemed pretty final, though they've all died before. Won't be surprised if he's brought back next season. But his character has been wasted for awhile IMO. I can remember when he was first introduced as this mysterious character who ripped dean from hell with a giant hand print... I love Misha and the Dean/Cass relationship... but this might be a good shake up. Cass could return in a different way than being resurrected, which might be interesting. I wasn't sure what to expect with the Nephilim, but they definitely got the creepy look down... I understand that they didn't want to start off the new season saddled with a baby, but I would have been okay with it for an episode... too bad they just played the fast aging baby card with Amara last season. I thought it looked almost Elvin, very pointed features made more pronounced with the lighting. I kind of wish the season hadn't ended on such a creepy shot! His eyes were yellow instead of Lucifer's red... I think he'll start off as an innocent. -
Ugh... Russel was being such a jerk about the net and that 'girls' can't do it.... just let them try you ass... Although Shannon remains as annoying as ever. She was upset that she was going to get too hot by the fire if Russell put more wood on, when everyone else is still freezing! I don't know why they haven't built a better shelter... or woven some more mats to lay on/cover up with etc. While I personally would never actually go on a show like this, If I did, I figure I'd try and spend most of my down time weaving.. maybe some sandals, maybe a rug, how about a blanket type thing... come on! Especially with 6 people, someone can tend fire, do water, do the fishing... others can work on the shelter/ weave stuff...

I get that they want the characters to have dimension and not just be the prosecutor, etc... but I do think the personal side stories have taken away from the overall picture of this show. I mean, I do thing Ashe having shot someone as a rookie was a good start for dramatic back story... but the way they have gone with the custody battle and attempted blackmail.... I don't have a problem with casual sex, but I really could have done without Preston and Ashe hooking up... I also don't get why Ashe didn't tell Preston what was going on with Breeland... he could have followed them outside, Breeland clearly attacked her first and brought her to the ground for no reason. Get that on video and maybe they'd get some answers.

S08.E24: Wine & Design, Rocketbook, LAID Brand and Bridal Buddy
roctavia replied to yeswedo's topic in Shark Tank
Ugh... so much for a season finale... I tuned out most of it, and I think I totally missed the hair pitch aside from Lori saying it didn't make her like Kevin at all... The paint/wine thing is all over the place- we have two in my small town and several in the nearby slightly larger city (Larger meaning it has the one good mall in a 50 mile radius, so you know, epically huge!) I was surprised to hear how much they had been making with all of their franchises. It's fun, but nothing proprietary about it. I missed most of the notebook pitch too.. but I agree that it's more of a novelty than anything. A notebook that could translate my scribbles into actual typed documents would be worth buying (and probably exists already in some format) but just an etch a sketch notebook doesn't really solve any problems. Hair product was lame. The wedding dress thing, sure could be useful... though I didn't pay enough attention to see how it really works/impacts the underneath feel of your dress or how much it costs... I'm sure she can make a killing in the wedding biz, because people will buy anything... but it's not really that embarrassing to have your best friend help you with your dress... I did it for my friend... and I think I just was so busy I didn't pee the entirety of my wedding/reception! But I didn't hate the product and it actually does solve a problem- how big of a problem it is does seem more personal, though ;) -
Okay... so you made me rewatch, because how stupid would it be to keep the colt under the table (I mean like all the time when they aren't around)? Dean does pull a gun out from under the table, but the colt is already sitting on the table next to Dean's gun. He sets the under the table gun in front of the other guns he is working on (the brown handle on the table when he's cleaning the colt), but then picks up the colt to clean that one instead.... so we're both right :)

Crowley is definitely in the rat... I don't think we're supposed to wonder if Crowley is dead for good, just that Lucifer was more distracted by the fact that he had one over on Crowley that he didn't pay attention to his actual death... I'm sure Crowley will show up at some point when he's needed. I like the idea that Crowley was involved in setting Lucifer free to lead him to the baby. I don't like this direction with Mary, mind control and all that, though we did see Sam in that dream world at the beginning of the season thanks to Lady Whatsherface... but Sam's torture makes even less sense now... I'm glad they figured out the bunker was bugged, and I was glad to see them kick some ass... but now they are trapped in a bunker with no ventilation and a bunch of dead bodies... I hope they get out of their quickly! I so want Mary to kill Ketch... and the old lady head mistress (though i'd be fine with anybody taking her out) the BMOL are so stupid anyway- the hunters don't get rid of monsters the way we want so we're going to kill them all!! It makes no sense, it's not like hunters are going to stop the BMOL from taking out monsters. I'm sure they'd all be glad to stop hunting if the monsters were gone.

Is that really "the" colt though? Or just a similar type of gun? Every time we see them with the actual colt they are unwrapping it from a cloth, even Sam was looking at it in a cloth. No way to they leave the colt just hanging out under a table. That looks like an emergency I might need a gun while sitting here gun.

They really are just spinning wheels to get to the end of the season... Conclave for the bunker!! No we stole the bunker! But we opened the bunker! Back to last week's plan... I agree with everyone else above, Jaha has really become insufferable... I mean, he always kinda was, but then I was starting to not dislike him so much when his crazy theory panned out and the bunker existed... And I get wanting to save all of skaikru... but of course the bunker holds 1200 (though, weren't they the 13th clan? Or did that count the now long gone flokru?) have to get us back to 100 for the title, you know. I do agree that a straight lottery won't work- they need the brains to keep things running, though I would assume the other clans used some intelligent thought to determine their survivors, even if it was just the young, healthy, strong for breeding/survival purposes. Mixing with 1200 is much better than the 400 people from the ark who have already been isolated with only each other for the last how many years. I'm so glad Jasper is finally dead.. and I feel kind of bad saying that, but man... get it over with already. I'm fine with the whole 'we don't want to live in a bunker' attitude, but I was getting tired of watching it. I'm glad Harper changed her mind. Will be interesting to see what happens when they get to the bunker. Monty might only be an apprentice, but he'd be a much better choice than stupid ass Jaha... Isn't abby also dying of whatever is killing Raven? Though hopefully it's not killing her anymore!

100 Secret Plots and Alliances: The Spoiler Topic
roctavia replied to MostlyC's topic in The 100 [V]
So I'm starting to think the leaked scripts may be true after all... it makes sense 100 people get the bunker and Clarke and a handful figure out how to rig the rocket to live in space for the 5 years? Some of the Ark is still up there, right? Next season has to be a time jump, I'd think... -
I've been watching this the way I watch shark tank sometimes- heavy on the fastforward button... I like to see the different products and how they work, but can FFwd through most of the judge commentary and the kids playing with the toys... they are too obnoxious to listen to.

I think feeling anger is one thing, throwing vases at people is another.

Lucifer didn't start off evil, right? I mean initially he was one of gods favs until he misbehaved and got cast out... right? Unless they've changed that story. So sure, Lucifer is a total dick now, but even if we are talking nature/nurture, Kelly is a relatively "good" person and while we don't know the genetics of archangel baby making, it makes sense to me that this baby would start off as sort of blank slate. Sure, plenty of power and a self preservation instinct... which if Lucifer gets ahold of baby, evil will be easily embraced... but if they can keep the baby away from Lucifer, I could see it going a different direction. I am curious what future the baby showed Cass... and if it's real. But I suppose only time will tell if Cass got conned again, or if he can finally have a win and a new purpose.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 - General Discussion

I thought it looked like a picnic basket... but I don't get it? Not sure if it's supposed to mean something or if it's just a new quirky thing to have. -
S01.E07: Van v Emily: Dawn of Justice
roctavia replied to The Crazed Spruce's topic in Powerless [V]
I did like Van's line about knowing people's names and the little firefly joke... Kay, Lee, Malcom! Zoey, Simon... Puffy Haired guy. I'm enjoying this show a lot... it's very silly and goofy, but that's what makes it entertaining and I do like most of the cast and the play on super hero stuff behind the scenes. I do want more of the crazy inventions, though! -
S08.E20: Apollo Peak, Under the Weather, Seedsheet, Cropsticks
roctavia replied to Tara Ariano's topic in Shark Tank
That type of chopstick just pulls apart, the end doesn't actually snap off to be a rest like her new product... but, those that you have are super cheap, so if she can't get her price to be the same as those chopsticks, she's not going to make many sales. -
I thought the Clinton one would have been his "commander in chief" but it was a tough question since the answer could go any direction.
-
Jaha found it at the site of the fake bunker.
-
I agree... I know they are trying to make a complete picture, but I want them to be working the case more, I want more information on what is going on in the town etc. I did like the football stuff with the daughter calling out her dad for saying something racist, even if he had bullshit defense for it.

The medallion thingy said "from the ashes we rise" so Monty thought to put it in a fire... it like burned away the level 11 medallion and left a number 12 and symbol that was the key.
-
Why did it take Clarke so long to volunteer? I mean, I get no one wants to risk dying, but if the other option is death anyway and someone could volunteer to be the guinea pig vs murdering yet another person why did it take so long? I kept expecting Clarke to do it earlier... but I suppose if she did offer Abby would have freaked out before it could happen and then we wouldn't get to the destruction of the chamber thing... And even if it did work, how were they going to turn everyone into a nightblood in ten days? that's an awful lot of bone marrow. This whole storyline with the lab was quite ugh for me. I'm am glad the bunker thing paid off from the earlier episodes and wasn't just a waste of time. I wonder if the bunker people ended up forming parts of the clans then? Not just people who were able to withstand the radiation.

Looks like Stephen Moyer and hopefully some of the other cast are going to live tweet tonight's episode.

Has there been anything in the news on more of these movies? I mean, I know this one just aired, but I have a hard time finding news about this series, even on the hallmark website. I really like this series, and the 2 months later/engagement thing did worry me a little that it was going to be the last one, which I really hope not! I think it's reasonable for them to end the will they/ won't they/ which guy thing, since I think the books drag it out forever... but I'd hate for this to be the last of the series.

The asking for his blessing didn't bother me either, especially because he wasn't asking charming for Emma's hand, he was asking for an okay that the charming's would be supportive should he and Emma get married, which is sort of an important thing... especially in a town that is so intertwined and family is so important. I did also like that they had Charming put in the line that it is of course Emma's decision... because it is.... They can offer all of the blessings in the world but Emma is the one who makes the choice to accept the proposal or not. I agree with everyone else that the killing charming's dad is a stupid way to twist the plot again.

I do think the finale hit some good feels... and I know they wanted to go for dramatic and ultimately someone had to die -except it's a TV show, so someone didn't have to die... there could have been another magical McGuffin that saved everybody/brought people back etc... So it annoys me that we get the 'hero' sacrifice from a character who's whole deal was trying to do the right thing and repent (even if fell big time off the rails a bunch) and he just up and dies. I don't really have a horse in the love triangle race, since that ship sailed long, long ago but I always liked the Stefan character, just as I liked the Damon character, and I would have been far more satisfied with plot holes galore if everyone had gotten an actually happy ending, not some bullshit they are happy in the afterlife/ they were ready to die ending (like another vampire show with the stupid love triangle and broody trying to be a good guy who failed a lot at that but still had to die to end the series for bullshit reasons... whoops.. guess that's still a sore spot) I actually didn't care all that much that Nina was back, but like I said above my caring about the Elena story has been over for a long time. I'm glad Bonnie didn't have to die and that she has her magic back. I think the set up for her to "live her life" was a good one at least to start... Not just Stefan's ending sucked for him, but also for Caroline... she got her big wedding and her husband for a matter of hours and had to say goodbye. I'm glad she does have the girls and the school venture, you know she will make that school successful no matter what ;) Maybe the magic school will help keep Mystic falls safe from other pissed off people... though I do think Katherine was the root of many of their problems :P I did enjoy her getting stabbed repeatedly this episode. But anyway.. I'm glad it's over because it has been a mess for the last many seasons...

S08.E19: The Sleep Styler, Blendtique, MealEnders, Rareform
roctavia replied to Tara Ariano's topic in Shark Tank
I'm sure they have their own reasons for it, and student loan debt is usually a good kind of debt... though a long range payment plan still has payments of like $2000 a month ( of course with some variation, but that's the payment for one person with medical school loans) I guess in the long run, whatever make your own financial decisions, but I guess I could have done without her bringing it up as a big boohoo you have to invest! There definitely is an advantage to it being student loans, so there is the option for income based repayment- meaning they won't be on the street if they suddenly lose their income.
