  1. I enjoyed this episode as well. A little adventure, some good interrogation/banter between Reed and the sentinel guy. It was also some good world building for us to see how things are for mutants in this particular time line- the girl being picked on at the bowling alley, the fact that she could be arrested for simply getting scared (I know we knew about that already with the strucker kids, but that was more than just a gust of wind in a bowling alley), seeing the medical situation for mutants, and that more and more hospitals are refusing to treat them- though at least this one had the medications they actually needed. The portals were crazy, though I am curious about the street she kept opening up. Waiting to hear from people who know X-men if they are referencing the comics or made up events with the thing about the prosecutor guy losing his daughter in the June 15th event, and then the mutant siblings thing in the 60s. I assume he wants to experiment on them, since two in a family must somehow be special.
  2. During the pitch she said it retailed for like 12 dollars didn't she? or less? I know during the pitch I was surprised by how affordable it was... Amazon is so weird on it's pricing sometimes.
  3. I've seen the rings advertised for a few years... and agree they can be really useful for some people- taking rings on and off can mean lost rings, so having something you don't have to take off, or that you know you always wear for x job/activity makes sense. Even if it's just a place holder for the real wedding band. At their price point, I can see why they've had such good sales. My husband is a carpenter, and we've talked about a tattoo ring ;) Didn't care about the coffee guys, cause I think coffee always tastes terrible, so I ffwd all the discussion after the initial pitch. There are a lot of fidget items on the market right now... I wasn't paying enough attention to see what made his so special. Was it just the beads on rings? I actually really liked the hairbrush, especially if it's a good detangling brush. My daughter hates having her hair brushed, so having something cute that's just for her and her sister would be fine with me, I buy them special detangling brushes anyway. It's definitely a perfect product for QVC.
  4. True... I wonder if the designs would be better if they had more than a day to make an outfit... and also if they focused on designing and not work room drama...
  5. Ugh, this episode.... Heidi was really on a rampage against almost all the looks. And surely the drama is the reason for the 4 bottom and 2 top looks this week. Some weird looks went down the runway this week, Amy and Brandon both were way to odd for my taste. I liked the blue dress that the modest designer did (I can't remember her name) I thought it fit nicely and wasn't just a sack to put a bigger model in. The pattern was cute, too. I wanted Kenya's to be better. She is so good at the construction side, she needed to take Tim's advice about the peplum. I liked Kentaro's though it did seem a little voluminous, so I do sort of see the swimming in fabric comments. Batani's was boring, even making it purple. It's too bad she was so bad at making her print- I wonder if they had a different program or something this time, or were rushed? It seemed like a lot of the prints didn't turn out as planned. Oh the drama.... I missed the talk about measuring or doing something at home... but I suppose if they showed us clear proof of the cheating this week, there wouldn't be anything for us to wonder about waiting for next week. Though maybe she didn't do anything wrong and Tim is mad about the accusations? Either way, I would be fine if Claire goes, and Michael and Margarita.... I wish this show could ditch some of the drama, just let them make clothes!!
  6. I wouldn't read too much into IMDB, it has the entire strucker family listed as only 2 episodes... based on all the marketing and that the whole premise of the show is a family on the run, I'm sure they are sticking around. Not to mention that no way was the preview only for next episode- too much was happening, too many different situations for the same characters... so I'm sure there will be more of the Strucker Family. IMDB doesn't know everything :P
  7. It's not post Logan, since in Logan they said no new mutants had been born in 25 years.... but I could see it being somewhere during the timeline before Logan- X-men were gone (though I'd think they'd have mentioned more than 'disappeared' if Xavier had killed them all accidently as implied by Logan.) But, I don't actually expect this show to fully fit in with any of the movie timelines... because not everything has to be connected. Overall I really enjoyed the pilot and will be looking forward to this show each week! I like the cast a lot, having always been a fan of Stephen Moyer and Amy Acker, but the rest of the cast rounds out nicely. The little easter eggs were fun, Stan Lee's cameo... the cut to the picture of a Wolverine :)
  8. Isn't coconut oil not very sustainable? Like obtaining it is expensive and bad for the environment? Sure the chips might taste good, but I'm kind of over the coconut oil hype. I liked Branson a lot in the first episode. He made some great deals, that like others have said, wouldn't have been made by the other sharks. The hammock tent thing looks really neat.
  9. It sounded like one of the main reasons LMS was cancelled was because their contracts were up, not only for the actors, but also with the production company- they weren't produced by whatever channel the were on, but by a different company, so to continue the show ABC? Or whoever would have had to take over all of the production costs in addition to renegotiating cost with the actors, which means the show was about to get a lot more expensive to make- hence being cancelled. This reboot is going to rake it in, even if the ratings fall off a little bit, they will easily be able to get 2 ten episodes seasons out for minimal cost and great returns. It's always about the money.
  10. I didn't hate Kenya's look as much as the judges... the blue suit was.... different, but definitely agree that Kenya and Amy deserved to stay, their outfits might have been boring and dated, but they construction was really good, and I didn't think they were necessarily poor taste, just dull. The twins looks were stupid. The sweater dress could have had some potential, but it just didn't work with how they styled it and the embellishment choices... and the other outfit was just... ugh, those pants looked so uncomfortable and unflattering. I hate that we have to wait a week for one of the twins to finally leave. I liked all 4 of the top looks, but I did like the dresses better. They had some new design, the boys outfits seemed to similar to other looks we've seen this year... a crop top with some dangly shit... They were still decent looks, but I'm okay with them not being the win. I want one season to go by without Tim using his save at all, there is nothing in the rules that says he has to do it, and I don't think there is someone every season who is wrongfully offed. It's a nice option for when he disagrees, but it's unnecessary. That's why last season it almost felt like he used it super early just to get it out of the way because no one would be worth saving later :P
  11. Actually really enjoyed this episode, I laughed a lot throughout and it was nice to have some familiar friends back on TV. I didn't mind the political stuff, especially since I assumed every episode wouldn't be that way, and I agree with the political leanings (which, it'd be hard to support a show with gay main characters while also supporting administration that wants to take away rights and protections for the LGBTQ community, so not a big shock that I'm okay with the jokes.) I didn't really notice the laugh track, at least not enough to be bothered by it. Definitely keeping this show on the must watch list this year. I also expect the hammy winks at the audience will be less and less, this was the re-introduction, they had to cram it all in for us.
  12. I definitely agree with the Auf this week, no question. And I think Claire's was so boring it belonged in the bottom. I didn't hate the other bottom look as much, and though it could have had some potential, but the construction was overworked. Either way, I'm glad she didn't get kicked out over Aaron's mess. I liked the top looks though I wouldn't have chosen Brandon as the winner, it was too much like his outfit last week and while it was 'high fashion' I guess? I didn't get the good/evil theme with it. I loved Kenya's outfit and probably would have chosen her as the winner. The other top dress was also great, though I think the fabric was doing a lot of the work. It definitely had the drama down, and the feather use was spot on. I wanted to see the other black dress in the top- with the feathers at the shoulder and the slit, showing off the model's shape. I would have liked a closer look at that dress. Shawns half dress half shorts or whatever didn't work for me. I do think most of the other looks all belonged near the top, it was a fun challenge this week. I agree that it was hilarious to watch the twins talking head bitch about other looks being bad and then they end up in the top... ha ha ha
  13. There were a lot of nice looks this week, and I actually mostly agree with the judges. I liked Kentaro's a lot, but the textile was too specialized to mass produce, but the winning look was stunning, and flattering and would work for a lot of body types. So it was a great choice for the win. I liked Deyonte, but it was time for him to go home. his look was just blah. The twin look wasn't bad, but it was kind of boring. I agree with others above that the cream/blue striped look (Samantha?) deserved to be in the top. It had actual design to it and looked fairly well made. The twin stuff continues to be annoying, but I do tune out a lot of the work room stuff so it didn't bother me as much this week . I'm glad Kenya didn't get auf'd I like her a lot, though her look was quite a miss this week.
  14. They also don't need to describe the model because their body shape is not an excuse for a crappy garment. Even the size zero models are not the exact same shape, it's not like any of the contestants are saying "I've never made an outfit for someone so tall/short before, I've never made an outfit for someone with A cup breasts, I've never designed for someone with that dark of skin before" etc. they aren't using the model's shape/appearance as an excuse, which is the problem with what Shawn has been saying. She had a breakdown in the workroom because her model wasn't a size zero, you can't do that in this competition, especially this season when there are models of all body types. She used the 'curvy' model as her reason why she made a bad outfit, and the judges could see it was a bullshit excuse and called her out for it. Yes, it takes more skill to design for an actual body and not a hanger, but this is a competition of skill, if you don't have it, you go home.
  15. Ugh, two episodes in and the aufs are all for the drama. Shawn should have been gone, but you know the magic wondertwin powers will keep them both in this competition far longer than they should be. Shawn was in the bottom last week and this week, and didn't even make the good part of her outfit...but the guy who did make it gets sent home... While I agree his gold wrapping paper thing was awful last week and this week wasn't much better, he didn't 'score' in the bottom last week. (I know, I know, one week your in, one week your out, but come on) Shawn had a bad attitude and made a crappy outfit. She should have been sent home. But we know for at least a few more weeks if anyone goes against one of the twins, they are going to be the one aufed. I didn't mind the winning team, though those white/transparent shorts things were awful... and the patterned pants outfit looked so stiff and weird in motion, it ruined the affect. I'm okay with the win, it did look cool in motion. It looked less cool up close- the front looked like little kid art projects, but they all did. Fringe has always been popular with Heidi, remember a few seasons ago when all you had to do was throw some fringe on and it was a winning look? Heidi wore that blue carwash dress to some red carpet. The middle team was pretty middle for me, too. All the teams had some boring looks and some interesting looks. I did like the designer who did the braided halter on the losing team, her outfit turned out quite good, and I like that the judges liked her best when twin girl was all "everything is braided, yuck! Waa waa crybaby!" Overall, disappointed in this challenge... maybe because the materials were less interesting? Or too much random painted fabric lite options... No coffee filter amazingness or hot glued leaves or some of the other really creative unconventional materials...
  16. Overall, it was a nice runway. There was some great stuff and some terrible stuff. Forgive me, for I didn't watch road to the runway, or pay much attention prior to the actual runway itself, so I have no clue who people are. For once, I agree with the judges on the winner, that floral dress was AMAZING and looked great on the model. The pattern was well placed and overall, it just looked really well done. The white dress was really pretty too, especially for a one day challenge. I agreed with the judges a lot today- I liked the white shirt with all the tails, but I hated the shorts. I was okay with who they sent home, though I thought his outfit looked kind of interesting on the runway, and I did think there were pieces that were much worse. The gray dress with the applique was terrible... it could have been okay, but the fit was not good and the tail/butt crack was a very bad choice. I thought the cammo/pink top and skirt was just okay, the top was interesting, but the skirt was just too boxy- here's some fabric I put around your waist with a stripe on it. But I didn't think it was bottom, just because it was interesting. The bad thing about the first episode, is we don't get much look at half the outfits! The black jacket wasn't very interesting until it turned into a skirt... but it was neat. I don't know what was up with the dude who made those huge white pants- whatever that outfit was, it was awful. I thought it would have been in the bottom for sure. The red flowy outfit had potential until you got to the weird shoulder puff things that made it look like a costume or something. Some interesting looks, and definitely some personalities present in the designers. Maybe next week i'll pay closer attention to the work room, but I still am sick of all the behind the scenes drama from past seasons... so we'll see.. I just want to see the neat outfits.
  17. Yes, many seasons ago on Bravo, someone had a pattern book back in the rooms so they got booted out for cheating. Was that when Chris March got to come back? Or was his an illness return? Either way, I think someone got to come back and was better than the cheater.
  18. This is what I was thinking as well... They have just got Winterfell back, they know how awful it is to be without their home. I also see Sansa's point, but the traitors were dead and they could get new loyalty from the younger Umbers/Karstarks. I think Jon made the right decision, especially when there is urgency to the situation. I actually don't think there is that much conflict between Sansa and Jon, I mean , sure they are disagreeing on things, and it probably would have been better to have the disagreement another place instead of in front of everybody, but I don't see the conniving and plotting and mistrust between them that we see between just about everyone else. Jon was willing to let Sansa rule, but she gave him the leadership role. He is also listening to her even if he disagrees. They both want to do what is best, but come from very different experiences. I do think they could work very well as a team to stay alive regarding Cersei and the white walkers. They are just different- and worried about different things. Jon has seen the whitewalkers, that's all he has to worry about. Cersei is nothing compared to the army coming from the north.
  19. This is so sad, I feel for his family and friends! Lafayette will always be one of the best characters in True Blood and it would not have been so without Nelsan's amazing portrayal. Sad that we won't be able to see more from him :( It's always such a tragedy when people die so young.
  20. Do it!! It was so fun to rewatch! And clearly there are people around here happy to still talk about L&C!! I will say, I'm surprised with the rewatch how good of a job they did most of the time with the 'strong' woman Lois, sure she was vulnerable and needed a lot of rescuing, and did a lot of chocolate/ice cream poor me moments, but looking back at some shows from the 90s there was so much sexism/rape culture/ i'm a nice guy so I deserve the girl entitlement (which I suppose Lex had a bit of that attitude) They did do a really good job with the Lois/Clark relationship most of the time and didn't treat Lois like some prize. It was interesting as well when they got to the fertility stuff and the sappy goopy I love you no matter what and we're creating life just by being together blah blah... But it was kind of perfect for the tone of the show. I was surprised though that they never mentioned that Clark's parents had already gone through the same issues, like even a passing mention of it would have made sense. I wish it hadn't ended!!
  21. So I made it through the full series... and I definitely wish we had gotten another season! Though I am glad that they didn't leave us with some crazy cliffhanger. I mean, sure mystery baby is a cliffhanger of sorts, but at least something that we can envision leading to Lois and Clark having some grand adventures together while they raise a family. At least this time the drama from the clone wedding forward seem to go by faster, binge watching definitely helps with that! It was really only a handful of episodes to get Clark and Lois back on track. I did hate the psychiatrist guy though... Granted I haven't done a lot of research into amnesia treatments, but keeping her away from familiar things and not telling her the truth about her life and relationships doesn't seem like the right way to do it and made me hate the doctor guy from the start. I mean, I get she needed no pressure, no stress... but Clark saying that he loved her and they were engaged to be married before didn't mean she had to jump into his arms, but it was a piece of herself that might have brought her memory back sooner. But I know, I know... they needed the drama and one more guy to compete for Lois. At least she punched him out at the end of things once she remembered everything. Once they made it through the amnesia, I love that she still teased Clark from time to time that she forgot who he was. I did also like the call back to her secret novel from the first season and how they expanded it into a plot point... "she must have been really mad at me when she wrote that" The Kryptonian drama was probably my least favorite storyline for the series (Tempus and Wells have to be my favorite arcs/recurring characters) the arranged marriage, the corrupt council guy blech.. I'm glad Clark was able to tell them to take a hike. The ups and downs getting to the actual final real wedding gave us one of my favorite episodes- when they had to go undercover at the relationship camp. I think that episode and the island one where Lois dares Clark to not use his powers are my two favorites when it comes to relationship moments. I still don't understand who Mike was supposed to be when they finally do get married, some sort of guardian angel, I suppose? Though I imagine if I looked into there maybe someone in the crew who was getting some special props by being the guy who finally married them. (It wouldn't be the first time Robert Singer has put some 'real life' characters in his shows) It was nice to see them finally married, but of course they had to delay their wedding night yet again! Though I'm not going to think through the physics on it, but it was cute how they ended up on the ceiling when they finally did get to consummate :P Married Lois and Clark definitely changed things a little bit, but it didn't make the show any less interesting. They still had their issues to work through and their first 'real' fight when Lois took over as Editor for awhile, but they still worked through it, and I think how they ended most episodes with character moment of them together being happy is one of the reasons I look back on this show so fondly. Sure, bad stuff happened and there was trouble going on and fights, but in the end they let Lois and Clark be happy together. That's something I don't really see with most TV shows I watch nowadays. I'm sure I could go on and on and touch on every episode, but it was really nice to re-watch, though it makes me again wish for more!
  22. I do think the celebrities can work when they are game for anything... Tony Hawk was good, and happy to play along, goof around etc. But I agree that the same old games to get stale. I love Ryan, he's always been my favorite, but helping hands is just the same thing over and over- here, eat something disgusting and make a mess! I like the quick fire games better like worlds worst, props, and scenes from a hat, because it's rapid fire and they get a lot of jokes in, plus they can go in almost any direction. Party Quirks is also one of my most favorite games, so I wish they'd do that one more. I miss the super hero one they did on the original run, where they had to name the next super hero who arrived. I do think the guys go for the more vulgar jokes more often in part because they are so comfortable with each other and like to push boundaries with themselves- I grabbed his butt, I put my face in his crotch and made a small penis joke etc... But yes, please change it up! Lets do some different games! I'd think the cast is getting sick of the same old games as well, especially because they film all the episodes in a pretty short span, from what I understand. The episode with Props did have me laughing so hard I was crying... it was a great episode all the way through, but some of the gags with the props were hilarious.
  23. Yes, this is how it happened- Alt Clark came back in the final Tempus episode while regular Clark was trapped in a time window thingy... and at the end Lois tells him that his feelings are meant for his lois, in his dimension... and he talks about how he never even met her. Eventually saying he tried, but it's impossible and Wells jumps in with a wink and the Nothing is impossible, which tells me that they went off together and found lois and now Lois and Clark are happy together in all dimensions :)
  24. You're right, looking through the descriptions there is one more HG Wells episode with alt Clark toward the end of the series, that must be what we are all thinking of.
  25. I haven't come across any reference to AltLois yet... but I've got most of season 4 to go :) Will keep everyone posted! (Unless I missed it in the original episode, but I know I was paying attention during that one, because I couldn't remember if AltClark was going to try and find her or something and wanted it to be the case.)
