If it makes you feel any better, Eric got more screen time than Bill...
-
I think that one makes sense, because they didn't know what she was until Warlow made the dumbest move ever (I mean, come on, was he going to turn an 8 year old? That's fucked up!) and did he ever say anything about Sookie being a fairy, or just that she was special and vampires existed? Then they both died within a matter of days of that happening, so there wasn't a chance for them to suddenly know what she was while Sookie was around to hear it.
-
Different strokes, I guess... Personally I like the new James much better... he's far more charming and interesting to me than James from last season.
-
I guess that just goes to show how desperate Bon Temps is for some teenage-ish supernatural girls... Had the circumstances been different- like say Andy only had 1 fairy daughter (cause 4 new characters that are almost exactly the same would have sucked, and 3 of them would have needed to die somehow anyway) and no deaths been involved, I think Jessica would have been a good candidate for the BFFs thing, assuming she could continue to keep herself under control. She and Adilyn have a lot in common as far as being very sheltered and naïve and suddenly thrown into a harsh world. Of course Adilyn's story is a little different since her 'sheltered'- ness is because she grew up in 2 weeks. I do wonder what she's been up to in the past 6 months. Has Andy kept her stuck at home? Has she gotten much chance to hang out with Sookie, since they're the only known fairies in the area...

While we differ re: Bill... I'm in agreement that I'm not a fan of the idea of Sookie being turned... but I think her ending up with a vampire and finding a way to make it work would be much more interesting than her turning (like in every other vampire show/movie/book with a human girl). She can throw away her fairy light and be no longer fae (whatever that means) so the writers have some other options to play with. I would not be opposed to the idea of Sookie ending up alone... since aside from Bill, I don't see anything else that makes sense. I would hope they wouldn't throw in someone else at the very end to suddenly be her love interest... and any non-vampire (unless it's a fae perhaps) would present the same mind reading issues that she's having with Alcide. I also don't see a problem with Jessica ending up alone for a time... she can have friends and fun without needing to be in some sort of serious relationship. She's (hopefully) got a lot of years ahead of her, so why settle down? I miss Hoyt, but I don't need him back, especially not in the context of Jessica. James and Lafayette seems very interesting to me... I like the new James a lot more than the old one. Hopefully Jason was shooting blanks, or the inbreeding has caused some serious infertility amongst the werepanthers and we'll never, ever, ever see them again...

I just hope it doesn't take long for Violet to either die or find some other reason to leave Jason alone. I don't want him back with Jessica, since I while I didn't hate the pairing, I don't think it's right for either of them. Jessica, as a vampire, is too young to be all about monogamy... and I just feel like Jason would be better suited to a human partner who isn't psycho. Where he's going to find that, I'm not sure... And speaking to an earlier post about Adilyn/Andy/Jessica... I don't think forgiveness is really the goal, since something like that would be very hard to forgive, and Jessica knows that. Lives were lost, no matter the circumstance, no matter that it was mostly an accidental out of control killing, it was still a killing. I don't expect things to ever be the same for Andy when it comes to Jessica (and Bill) but I would like to see them at least all reach a place of some sort of mutual- we're not friends, but we can live in the same town and act appropriately and let the hatred and anger go for our own piece of mind sort of thing.... (If that makes any sense) Especially if Jessica continues to put her life on the line to protect Adilyn and along with Bill works to save Holly and the others of the town... it can't undo what's already happened, but it's, IMO, a step in the right direction.

Ugh.. while I do agree with ya'll and not to defend Sam's sudden love... but I do think Luna was dead more than 12 hours before he got busy with Nicole... a lot happened in those couple of days (not that 2 days is any better than 12 hours) But I wish they would have just let Luna live... but they needed a dumb reason for the dumb werewolves to continue being dumb jerks. I still don't get why Alcide and the werebitches had to beat up Lafayette and Sam... how about let Emma have a night to like calm down before you steal her away from Sam- who she wanted to stay with. A reasonable discussion would have probably led to the same conclusion of Emma with her grandmother and away from the pack was the best idea for everyone, and it would have kept Sam away from Nicole and her stupid friends. I also think they needed a reason for Sam to be absolutely unavailable when Sookie came looking for a lifeline. Everybody seems to fall prey to crappy plot points that need to happen. All that said and despite how ridiculously they had the relationship start, I hope they let Nicole and her baby survive. Sam has now been with her for 6 months, which like most of the people in BT, it's the longest relationship we've ever seen him have. Everyone he has sex with dies (including Tara, twice!) so it'd be nice for once if that doesn't happen.

Bill's arm was stopped at the threshold when he was trying to stake Warlow... I guess how good of a barrier there is depends on the plot needs :P Warlow didn't need an invite at all, since he was fae and vampire... too bad he was such a loser, he had all the best powers of fae and vampire- strength, healing (can he control his healing? His arm should have healed after he bit himself and moaned on the side of the road to get Sookie's attention), magic blood, but he can also eat food, doesn't need an invite, walking in the sunlight, silver doesn't bother him... The writers didn't need any continuity to write him.
-
I'll have to look at that again, since I don't think it was supposed to be daylight... maybe they had flood lights or something? But certainly there have been plenty of other continuity things that have been missed... Or things that have been left intentionally vague so the writers can hand wave it away later- like the rules on inviting/disinviting a vampire... Bill in S2 says that someone who lives in the house has to invite him, but then in later seasons, Coot invites in Russell, Sarah Newlin kicks Jessica out of Jason's house... So either the writers decided Bill's statement in S2 was too limiting and conveniently "forgot" about that little rule... or there some strange sex clause that if you have sex in a house you suddenly have invite privileges.

Add me to the people who miss Hoyt... though I do think his story was mostly done at that point. His relationship with Jessica was perfection from the beginning, but it needed to end. It wasn't going to work out as a long term relationship, despite how much love there was. In general, I want happy endings for my favorite characters... I want Bill & Sookie back together, I'm hoping we'll get a satisfying end to Eric's story as well- him and Pam are always great together. I want Jason to ditch Violet rapidly... And I hope Sam doesn't have to lose yet another love, especially one who is carrying his child (even if the start of their relationship was rushed and wack, and we don't need more characters). I'm also good with Lafayette finding a new love/ happiness, and I really hope nothing bad happens to Jessica. She's looking to atone for her mistakes, and while it's never going to be completely okay, I want it to at least get a little better. Andy has also grown into one of my favorite characters, so I want happy things for him and Holly. Also... Nudity from pretty much all the main male characters is fine by me ;)
-
Eric will appear in the next episode, but I don't know if he'll have been found by Pam at that point.
-
I'm with you on the weres (Add the W-panthers to my hate as well) but... I'm hopeful that Alcide will just vanish at some point in the next couple of episodes when Sookie dumps his ass. We'll have plenty going on with Bon Temps that we can skip revisiting the pack ever again...
-
I've been looking at Eric's actions as a way show us just how profoundly he's been affected by Nora's death... and now that all this time has gone by, it's possible we'll get a reason why Eric has stayed away all this time. But his turning of Willa was impulsive and not well thought out... As for Pam... she cared enough when Tara tried to fry her self in the beginning... but Eric is and always will be more important to her than anyone else. I do think we'll see her reaction at some point, and I wonder if that is what will bring them back to the BT storyline.
-
Adilyn talks about how she should hate Jessica, but she doesn't... which is interesting... but also that she has nightmares about what happened (I'd imagine her attack later by Eric didn't help either) So her talking to Jessica about boys and inviting her in definitely made for an interesting dynamic. I am curious to see what Andy's response is going to be. He couldn't bring himself to shoot Jessica in the finale last season, but you know he was thinking about it. Just like I'm sure it crossed his mind to really shoot Bill in the slaughter house. Andy has really stepped up to the plate though, his speech to the vigilante kid was pretty great. Andy gets better every season. I really like him with Holly as well. Aside from Eric and Pam, who should be folded into the main story soon, I'm already pleased that our characters are all in one place for the most part. It should hopefully mean less unrelated plots, and I have a feeling the new characters will die off pretty quickly.

The vigilantes weren't shy about blaming Bill, even though the guy's particular argument in that moment made no sense, IMO, since it sounded like he was saying the one vampire/one human plan was what was killing people. The one human/one vampire vampires weren't attacking people, they were saving and helping people, even if they were outnumbered (i'm assuming them being outnumbered was why it was such a blood bath) But the whole plan to do the mixer outside was a stupid one, whoever came up with it. They could have made Bellefluers or a church or something the meeting place, and probably finagled a way for it to be a "private human home" so the vampires would need to be invited in, which would have offered some protection. (though not enough, I'm sure... since they'd probably light the buildig on fire or something) But drama llama needed an exciting battle! I liked Nora once she was free of the lilith blood influence... but agree that the flashback was sort of lame. It was clear even without it that Eric cared for her very muchl, but we did get to revisit wig Eric, which always entertains me. There was also something about him getting a role in 50 Shades of gray... and I guess you don't turn that down? Talk about a train wreck... I like the new James better. He is in Jessica's Vlog this week, and he was super cute and charming- just that tiny clip left me thinking he was far more interesting than the old James.

FLOVE Jessica! I agree that she is certainly a scene stealer, and IMO the best departure from the books (With Lafayette a close second). I hated that she killed the fairy girls last season, but it was a beautiful twist, the kind that I've loved from TB, and left her with some new amazing stuff to work with. In the premiere, those moments with Adilyn- the guilt on her face when Adilyn asks "What if you can't help it" it's great. I'm sad that they're portraying her so happy with James, since I think lafayette is going to interrupt that, but I also think Jessica is too young (since she's a vampire) to be in a lifelong comitted relationship. That was where she had problems with Hoyt. She needs to explore herself a little more, though she's certainly grown much in the last couple of seasons. Jessica and Bill are one of my favorite relationships on the show. I didn't hate Jess/Jason, but I didn't love it either, so I hope they don't go back there.

As for the blame Bill train... how far back do you want to go? Sure it was his idea to blow up the TB factories... but he didn't accomplish that on his own. The authority was determined to do a lot of damage once Roman was dead- initially they wanted to kill all mainstreaming vampires, which could have potentially been a large portion of the vampires, and would have included Tara and Pam, Jessica etc. If as a viewer you are completely on the side of humans and think all of the vampires are evil just by being vampires, then sure... blowing up the TB factories was a very bad thing... and cost human lives. Not blowing up the factories would have also cost human lives and vampire lives. (That is the tough part of this story of vampires- we are supposed to like them and root for them, but they are all murderers) Hep V and vamp camp was up and running before the factories exploded- it was a matter of days between those factories blowing and all that happened in S6, governor Burrell was just waiting for another reason to unleash the plans he'd already set in motion. But anyway- Bill made that suggestion after being influenced by the blood, blood that he and Eric were forced to drink after Roman was killed. Roman was killed because of Russell, Bill didn't free Russell on his own, he and Eric were played by Salome. Eric had a chance to kill Russell a year before all of this happened... but he didn't. Russell ripping the spine out of a reporter on live TV drove the backlash against vampires, and I'm sure encouraged Burrell to develop more anti-vamp stuff (the government was already working on it) and I could keep going back and back... So to say this is all one person's fault is BS. I guess we could go back as far as we can and say this is all Russell's fault for killing Eric's human family...

The thing about Tara's death, though... is that a vampire dying isn't a very dignified way to go. There is no death bed moment or last loving glance/ hug. Godric and Nora's deaths were different- Eric was able to say goodbye to them both. They all knew what was coming, but for Tara, her death was unexpected. (even Russell, thanks to his fairy blood exploded much slower than normal.) So maybe that was part of why they decided to have her death occur off screen. I also think she's not gone for good. She's met the true death, yes. But she will be back either as a ghost or in flashbacks (or probably both.) And Sookie did shed a tear for Tara... and was clearly overwhelmed by everything that had happened that night. I think we will see more of her grief as the season wears on. The premieres always have to be filled with a ton of stuff, so there isn't time for major develpments about anything. The vampire that went home with Sam was Holly's gay vampire friend that glamoured Terry last year. There is also the idea that although he can't enter the house, he can harm Adilyn in other ways- he's a vampire and strong, even if he's dying... he could damage the house itself or even go as far to set it on fire to drive Adilyn out of the house. And there is also the emotional terror involved as mentioned above. If Adilyn was alone, the vamp would be banging on her door, tormenting her with scary talk etc.

Luna shifted on TV... But nobody knew what to make of it... So shifters haven't been outed. I'm assuming they blamed camera tricks for Luna's live tv shifting... And continue to deny the existence of anything beyond vampires.

They tried to address that in the finale during Bill's interview about his book... Not so much that he deserved it just because he was an asshole, but because he was the one who commissioned the creation of hep V and introduced it into the population. That's the tricky thing about a tv show like this... There are plenty of characters that I'm fine with being dead, since they are fictional... And that I don't so much hold a grudge against the person(s) who killed them in many cases. But all of the vampires are murderers, so to root for any of them there has to be some bending of real life morals... I wish Warlow could be forgotten across the board... I hated that storyline so much...
-
I hate Violet with you... I hope she dies eventually, since I don't think Jason will be able to be freed from him in any other way. But I disagree on saying this is all Bill's fault... How is the hep V crisis all Bill's fault? He didn't invent hep V or put it in the true blood supply... Which was shipped out before he and Eric destroyed vamp camp. The governors death wouldn't have made a difference, the hep V would have been pushed out probably even harder if Bill hadn't killed him. The authority wouldn't have stopped it, not when they were destroying themselves with or without Bill. I have a hunch if Salome had drank the blood things would have been much worse. This epidemic was coming no matter what... And nobody in BT brought the vampires to town which is why the town blaming Sookie is stupid. Hep V is everywhere, it's hitting the major cities the little towns... Even other countries. The mixer idea outside was stupid idea, but I'm sure Bill didn't insist they do it outside vs finding someplace indoors. Sam came up with this idea, too and Arlene was on board. Somebody should have thought about that, but nobody did, since PLOT. It had to be after dark for the vamps... And the vampires were trying to save as many as they could. We'll see next week what happens to a town with no plan. Bill didn't destroy the TB factories by himself... And we saw last season that the governor had been planning this for a long long time... The TB factories had only been gone a matter if days before he has the factory up and running.

I didn't mind this episode... It does seem like not much happened... But the premieres are always sort of that way. The audience has to catch up with everyone and then they've got to start us in the new direction for the season. I hate that Tara is dead... But I do think she is actually dead. I know some find Tara annoying, but I've always liked her a lot and she's suffered so much. Also, RIP deputy Kevin... You survived a werepanther attack... Alcide and Sookie won't last much longer, nobody gets to stay happy for long. I do think the new James is great... I found the old James stiff and frankly boring... And the story is that he didn't like that he wouldn't be working with Deborah as much, since she's the reason he took the role.. But I fear it's because he was going to be having a relationship with Lafayette, which is lame if that was his deciding factor. He has also been cast in a role in the 50shades movie... So that was probably part of it. I will agree with many that the Jessica/ Adylin stuff was really interesting and also heartbreaking. DAW did a great job of showing her guilt. The moments I with Andy and Bill were really good, too. The Pam stuff was just okay for me... Though I loved the touch of them standing in buckets during the Russian roulette. I think this season is going to go some interesting places.
