  1. I don't hate Richard... and I even liked him in his first season... but he got so smug or smarmy or something... along with his neurotic "I'm going to lose" attitude and it has totally put me off of him. Marcel was totally annoying in his season, but I was on his side in the Betty war, since she annoyed me to no end... and obviously he didn't deserve to get attacked in the night.... he definitely has his attitude kind of moments, and maybe part of it is that he's kidding or trying to be funny when it comes across on TV as him just being bossy and arrogant (like with his sous chefs). But in general, I've got some sympathy for him always coming in second. Just based on that I wanted Marcel to win over Richard... but I also thought his food seemed way more appealing, so I thought he should have won anyway, no matter the personality thoughts.
  2. Reading through everyone's posts lately... I'm still bothered by Sandhya's win, maybe even more so.... Especially hearing that they were told not to make it crazy futuristic... and saying that her dress was "avant garde" doesn't work either... this wasn't an Avant Garde challenge.... and if that is what the judges wanted, it should have been part of the parameters of the challenge. I don't really care that much about the designers personalities or personal conflicts, which is why I hate all the manufactured drama... I mean, sure, I don't want people to be complete smug dicks or anything... but really, I want to see them design clothes and make said clothes and just watch that... I tune pretty much everything out but the runway, since the workroom stuff is no longer fun to watch, it's just tedious and drama-tastic. It was fun when we could watch some interesting draping, or some new techniques... people working... I don't want anybody to feel bullied or picked on, but I don't think that means they need the win just to stick it to the jerks... I wish the judging was truly and completely blind, like no backstory or anything... here's the outfit, rate it and pick a winner... Heidi gave Sandhya's dress a low score... that means she gets to win? I know it's not just based on points, but that should play into it. I don't have a problem with being all WTF that she's in the top 3, but chalking it up to judging quirks, but giving her the win for something that I thought was boring makes me sad. I didn't find her dress interesting or weird in any kind of a good way, and I don't buy her story behind it either. And apparently almost a week later I'm still bugged by this :P But it's not like it's the first time... They've been giving the win/ top 3-ing looks that I hate for a quite a few seasons now... so maybe I just have no fashion sense ;)
  3. I think it depends on the marketing side of things- a beer garden with local beers (meaning the local breweries might be doing some cross promotion) would draw in the college crowd, especially if they have a grad student program, since all of those students would be old enough to drink and probably looking to get away from the typical bar scene... also in the summer, places where you can drink outside are a big draw. Somehow there is always money for beer ;) We didn't get to play with the blacklight this week, but Gordon was actually sleeping in the hotel linens instead of his sleeping bag, so that must count for something :P He was so silly in that bathtub... does Gordon take a lot of bubble baths??
  4. Don't know where to put this, since they're not real spoilers... but... Say what you want about Bill... Stephen Moyer is pretty great :) http://teamcoco.com/video/spoilers-stephen-moyer
  5. Jason left Bridgett in his car with a wooden bullet filled gun. She probably called Hoyt or Hoyt followed them... and then he took the gun from her to see what was going on. Jason did mention a crazy vampire... Violet wasn't expecting anybody else to show up at her house, she had all of the players as far as she knows... and she was pretty distracted with all of her fancy torture devices, so I can buy that she wasn't paying enough attention to hear Hoyt approach. It's not like he came stomping through her house, he was probably attempting to be somewhat quiet so he could follow Violet's ranting.
  6. No.. they just slowed it down so it took a little longer, I guess... but it was the gun that Jason had loaded with wooden bullets... Like how Roman sort of melted instead of straight up exploding immediately when Russell staked him... I think it was all for the visual.
  7. They showed Jason loading the gun he left with Bridget with wooden bullets... surely he took the gun from her in the car and that's what he used to shoot Violet.
  8. I don't think they are going Jason/Jessica.... not with the stuff they talked about this episode, and Jason admitting a couple of episodes ago that he's never really felt love for anybody.. Jessica was just a "maybe a little bit"... So I'm good with him not being with Jessica. I don't think her with a human Hoyt is going to be that great either- it will have the same problems their old relationship had... so maybe Jessica will end up alone. I'm glad Tara got more of a goodbye, since exploding into goo isn't a nice farewell no matter when it happens... and I can understand why they didn't show her death on screen, it's not very dignified... but.. the whole gun/ sad birthday thing was kind of lame. But I guess it ties in with all of the forgiveness stuff that this season has been all about.
  9. I am so glad the Violet torture stuff wrapped up so quickly.. go Hoyt!!! I was fearing some long drawn out torture porn before someone finally rescued them. Bye bye, Violet... you will not be missed!!! You misjudged Jason's empty headed stupidity...
  10. I actually though Sandhya's sketch and concept was interesting, but as others have said it looked like a vacuum hose or some sort of not all the way cut Christmas garland. It looked cheap to me and it was 'out there' but it was still boring. It had no shape on the model. Ugh... clearly... I really didn't like it. There were a lot of looks I really liked this week... but of course most of those designers were just safe. I do agree with who they sent home... so I guess that's something.
  11. Alright... I give up.. PR is just Trolling us now, right??? Right???? What the hell???? That dress would have gotten her auf'd in any of the earlier seasons... with no question!! They called it unflattering, not the most revolutionary dress etc. and Heidi gave it a low score... and the other two top outfits were flipping amazing!!! WTF!!!
  12. But... the first two challenges are for money only and have no bearing on the final outcome.. at least they aren't supposed to. The actual "duel" is the challenge put forth by the judges and that determines if you move forward or not. So someone could win both the beginning challenges and still lose the battle. I suppose it's sort of like the quickfires in that it gives us a little more cooking to watch instead of just the main challenge. I did like that aspect of it, in that they had several challenges to meet. Just the duel part would have been boring for an hour.
  13. She's been making some googly eyes back at Jason... and then pulling him in to hug Hoyt, she joined in the hug, but from Jason's side so he was sandwiched between her and Hoyt. But I don't think this is going to go anywhere, it's just going to play on Jason's guilt- his guilt is probably actually playing a role in why he's feeling that attraction to her... he's trying so hard not to, it almost makes him want her even more. Forbidden fruit and all...
  14. Oh! Thank you for those videos!! I forget how much I loved S2... Santino got on my nerves, but he was hilarious. I miss those years of project runway!!! "What happened to Andre?" His impression of Tim was hilarious... wasn't there also one about going to red lobster or something? So much fun! S2 was a great season and we got to see some really interesting clothes, even if some of those were terrible.
  15. Aww... I kind of wanted Marcel to win for once. I know he can be insufferable... but Richard is just as, if not more irritating. Love Gail's line about self-deprecating... so spot on. In the 'duel' I definitely thought Marcel's dishes looked more interesting.. and while we can't actually taste the food, and who knows what was edited.. the comments seemed to sound like Marcel's first 2 courses were better. Was Richards dessert really that good? I mean, I do agree that chocolate is always a winner... and the second course was a blind tasting... but his pasta looked like vomit. The first two round are interesting, especially since they don't matter as far as winning.. just a monetary prize. I am glad that Marcel beat Richard at the burger challenge though... especially since I don't know what's so inventive about a bacon cheeseburger cut in half... the ketchup wasn't that thrilling. This is going to be an interesting series...
  16. While I have no clue what their cooking skills are really like... Hugh drives me bananas... I didn't like him on which ever show he was on as a contestant (wasn't he on masters maybe the first season??) and I like him even less as a judge. I don't really know what it is, maybe his attitude? But something just rubs me the wrong way. Gail I can take or leave... and I have even less of an opinion on Wolfgang...
  17. The Janus club isn't just for people who want to dress up like Castis it's all the different Votans... and possibly there are even some Casti there dressed as other races... in the background you can see some people dressed as Indogens. It is an underground club, and surely there would be some Casti who have a huge problem with it, but not necessarily all of them. Datak is very invested in maintaining the Casti way... but not all Casti are.
  18. While I liked Holly's reassurance of Andy when they were by the lake, her very definite "We are going to get through this and everything's going to be okay" type statement has me even more worried for their outcome. In the past, when someone on True Blood makes that sort of definitive statement, usually the exact opposite happens. But... I do hope that since there are so few episodes left, that this time, Holly is going to be right. I want them to come out with a happy ending at the end of the day. Though with Andy talking about how that lake was so beautiful, and Sam's discussion with Arlene about leaving.... it'd be funny if in the end, everybody just moves away from Bon Temps.
  19. Forgiveness is miracle, alright??! That's why the spaghetti is so good! :P I hear what you are saying, but I personally just don't see the things he's done as completely unforgivable. I know the road to hell is paved with good intentions... And looking at motivations and other forces, Bill always went into things with what he thought were good intentions or for some greater good... Which often didn't work out or were misguided since ya know, TV drama... But that's just one of those million things about True Blood that people see differently.
  20. While I will never disagree that Bill has done bad things, I do think his motivations (when in his right mind) haven't come from a place of malice. Some things- like coming to BT in the first place were orders that he couldn't refuse, or actions that he couldn't control... and he fell in love with Sookie just as much as she fell in love with him, his "acquiring" ended pretty damn fast once he met her. But I will never agree to the idea that Bill is an abuser or that True Blood is somehow endorsing domestic violence by putting them back together. Because this show is about vampires, there is a higher degree of violence than would be acceptable in normal life... but that holds true for the behavior of any vampire who has had any romantic interest in Sookie. They have all 'fang raped' her, and manipulated her and tricked her into drinking their blood in addition to trying to kill/kidnap/mess with each other in relation to Sookie. However, I'm sure this isn't the place to get into a debate about Bill or the morality of Vampires or True Blood in general... but I hate the laundry list posts of "Bill's bad things" when everybody else gets a pass for doing the same or worse bad things. So I couldn't not respond. I respect that some people do not like Bill for whatever reasons, but there are also plenty of people who do.
  21. Why could Andy and Holly get to Oklahoma faster than they could go from the Bellefleur house to Fort Bellefleur?
  22. This is the first time they've hooked up in like 4 seasons... since Sookie found out the truth about why Bill came to BT in the first place. Though she did mention this week that she read his book, so maybe there were some interesting truths in there about his state of mind when he was lilith'd and it makes his behavior more forgivable since he's trying to make up for it. And then add in that he's dying, and Sookie still loves him, it adds a bit of urgency and perhaps encourages more forgiveness.
  23. I think the fresh blood on the little girls face is what made him say that they'd been killing innocent people- that blood came from somewhere. Or maybe there was a body that I didn't see either. I took it as she was exhausted with worry and concern about her husband- which is why she looks so crappy... and then finding the dead dog, her husband monster etc. has just been pushing her over the edge. The neighbor sure picked the wrong time to come complaining. I don't think her feeding him to Ansel was out of character- she's severely traumatized by what she's just seen and this guy was being a total jerk. I can see that she's not in her right mind or thinking logically enough to call for help- or if she would even know who to call.
  24. The sex scenes don't bother me.... they are still acting and it is the characters doing it, not the actors (if that makes sense). And though this probably doesn't matter to some, since you might wish we never had a Bill/Sookie sex scene ever in the show... but they've been together since the pilot.... so.... yeah would made for a difficult first season if they didn't have any sex scenes. I do think this one had some different undertones, since Bill is dying, but I liked the call back to S1 and their first time together. At least hepV is just weird veins, which could easily be thought of as something like a tattoo instead of weird sores or falling off bits like rotting Pam.
  25. I know "SEMEN!!" is more disgusting and shocking, but Gordon does realize that there other bodily fluids that illuminate under black light than just semen, right? (which yes, urine and sweat etc. is still also disgusting) I know it's a hotel, and surely some of that is semen, but not all of it.. there are some non bodily fluids that also glow under black light, like certain laundry detergents even... and tonic water...
