  1. I think before, they couldn't kill him because he would have just gone to the "other side" where it was possible he could have gotten out or caused trouble or something... now that they've made the other side into something that people can come back from. But, now that the other side is gone, killing Kai seems like the best answer... but that didn't work in the 1994 prison, since I'm guessing they were already some sort of 'dead-like' state, since it was an equivalent to the other side. So while he was there, killing him wouldn't have mattered and he'd just keep coming back. I expect that is different now, and killing him should do the trick, but I'm sure it will instead be some weird elaborate plan to re-lock him up or something.
  2. I guess that makes me wonder if he can 'use up' Jo's magic then, since he had to use it to get back into the real world... does it like go back to the knife in Oregon? or just out into the world? Maybe Bonnie can find Jo's old magic and use it. I could buy that the ascendant is left behind, but where did kai do the spell? in the woods in Oregon? or did he travel all the way back to Mystic falls? It just makes it hard for Bonnie to find the ascendant if it was left behind.
  3. Did Kai use the ascendant in Oregon? I'd assume that's where it happened, since he was talking about flying and the skinny jeans and all that stuff... along with needing to take a cab... or did he fly himself in 1994 back to mystic falls? And how did he know where to find Liv? They sent him away from Oregon, right? Isn't that where they did the circle pretend mergey thing in the flashback? So it's hard to know where his ascendent is, though it probably came with him for plot purposes later. While I do find this "1994" thing interesting, it's not really time travel, since there are no people and the day just repeats over and over... but things from the past are still there. Does Kai taking them in the past move them in the future? Is Jo's magic still fully functional in the knife in present day or is that nullified because Kai stole it in 1994? I'm sure it doesn't matter, since the writers will just make it however they need it for the plot... but it's frustrating when there isn't any consistancy in this sort of thing. I am impressed with how quickly they can drive from one side of the country to the other.. .BTW...
  4. I saw Justin's open back as more of a play on those shirts/ dresses that are longer on the sides... or almost like a wrap of fabric that comes down on the sides vs cutting a specific slit in the back (I can't come up with the right way to describe it) cause I think it was very similar in the front. It was very exaggerated, of course, but I liked the coat overall. That red monstrosity was horrible and I don't know how it was safe (they don't get immunity in all stars, right?) and a lot of those coats were fug as others have described. I liked Fabios coat, especially once you could see the details. I didn't like Dimitry's coat at all... though it looked well sewn... it was too straight and as someone else said, very Dr. Evil to me. And really, just kind of boring! I didn't mind Benjamin's coat, so I don't feel the elimination... but overall, this episode was kind of a snooze.
  5. And then add in that Jo's ascendant didn't even matter, since Kai found/made a different one in 1994... While it wasn't cool of Damon to use Alaric to get the Ascendant, it has nothing to do with why/how Kai got out of 1994. Kai was already on his way before Elena and Damon used it to get into 1994.
  6. I rewatched that episode with Cain, and he is going to come to Dean when he is ready or " when the time comes" and it wasn't " come kill me after you kill Abbadon" like I had initially thought.
  7. Kate's dress wasn't sand colored on my tv... It was a dirty gray, and she said it reminded her of the beach air..... I didn't mind Isaac's "what?" Look, since I agreed that nothing about that color looked beachy/ Florida to me.
  8. The thing is, Finn is wrong... He is on this one track of saving Clark and he can't see what's really happening in front of him. The grounders didn't take Clarke... I understand why he's suspicious of that, and why he doesn't trust the grounders... But he had the upper hand... They were corralled and cooperating as best they could. There was enough evidence that even Murphy could see this group was a group of scavengers... And clearly the missing 47 people weren't there. He went from level headed to reacting without any thought and that is either bad writing or intentional.. Which to me looks like Finn has broken under all of the stress... He killed a lot of people in those few minutes... People who hadn't done anything to harm him...and in a situation where he was completely in charge... It was majorly stupid for that grounder to run, but Finn's reaction was too much and not something easily swept under the rug....
  9. So the Gemini coven stuff seems a little bit needlessly complicated... I get the twin thing, but then they just kept piling on more stuff and the merging and it kills one of them blah blah... And I also want to know... why are we not killing Kai? Daddy Kai would rather kill Jo than kill Kai?? Doesn't make sense... I mean, I can see that in the past, killing him would have just put him on the other side, right? He's still supernatural even if he didn't have witchy powers... but was it really that easy for people to escape the other side prior to Bonnie and Grams? I guess he died to go to witchy prison... but now that the other side is gone, killing Kai should get rid of him completely... but also, just killing him and sending him to the other side when it still was there should have been enough. Does this mean Liam is gone for good? He looked too much like Kai... and also, was very boring... Still don't care much about Tyler and the wonder twins... but I suppose my main investment for quite awhile has just been Stefen and Damon. I did like Stefen's scene with Caroline at the end... and the way Damon and Alaric were giving him a hard time... well, mostly Damon was...
  10. Can't say I'm disappointed Kate went home, since I'm glad to see her go. Her dress was boring and plain and just old looking... not to mention the unfinished and oddly shaped hem. So I do think the judges got that right, even if Gunnar's dress was a mess, too. I'm less sold on their top looks. Dimitri's dress was well constructed with those fabrics and overall I liked it, but I liked Justin's red dress a lot more. The nice floaty skirt was great, even if the model flashed everybody a bit... at least she had underwear on.. and that's not a construction issue, just something to be aware of with that style of skirt. I liked the gold dress a lot as well. I don't mind the handkerchief hem once and awhile and I think it worked in this case. Hated Helen's dress... it just looked like a big ol' frowny face to me. Sad droopy crying shoulder frowny face... Michelle's dress just looked old to me... and while Sonjia's was interesting with the blue underneath, the lace just seemed too shapeless... As for the rest... Fabio's was just okay for me.. definitely middle of the pack... and that yellow/mustard dress was so much fug!
  11. I thought Jaha landed near the east coast... didn't we get a shot of like the statue of liberty or some other such monument? Or am I making that up? But either way... the idea was that he landed close, but not quite near where he was aiming for... still in the US, but a good distance from where the ark landed. The woman who saved him turned him over to the grounders/ some version of grounders last week...
  12. Ugh... is it just me, or is this show filled with really stupid people?? Clarke wasn't as stupid this episode as she'd been in some of the earlier ones, but plenty of people were picking up her slack. Abby... Finn... the grounder who decided to run just when Finn and Murphey were getting ready to go... Kane... and of course, the Mt. Weather people... How long has it been since the radiation stuff? I don't remember how long they said they had all been in space, but wasn't it like 80 years or something? The president guy remembered being a kid and at that point seeing people outside surviving.... Why on earth would you capture people with the genetics to survive outside/ survive radiation and waste time draining their blood/ turning them into zombie soliders when you could have started a breeding program with them and by now have generations that would have growing tolerance to the radiation? That's what I expected them to want with the 47... like they somehow thought they were more civilized, and suitable for breeding with compared to the grounders or something. And how many people are getting injured by radiation on a regular basis? I'd think if they weren't such creepy bastards, they could easily get volunteers, like they did with Jasper to help people who were sick (assuming Jasper doesn't have some shitty long lasting side effects from the "treatment" and also leaving out the ridiculousness of that whole treatment plan from a science/blood type incompatibility etc. standpoint and that removing the radiation would magically heal your damaged skin etc. ) As long as it wasn't abused, they wouldn't have to hang them and use up all their blood and torture them... though I suppose they need someone to feed to the reapers. Finn has lost his mind... definitely a huge shift from who he was in the first season... I hope they don't go anywhere near this love triangle thing again with him... cause I'm not interested... I'm not a fan of Murphy's big redemption arc either... but this was bad on Finn.
  13. The play was also written from a perspective where the last few seasons hadn't happened... looking at Sam and Dean's relationship up until then... Dean's life had always been all about family. First it was finding John and getting Sam's help, and then protecting Sam. That has been the job that Dean was given by his dad and the weight that dean has carried all of this time. While I have watched all of the shows (at least i think...) I can say that I haven't watched some of the middle seasons with that much attention, so i've never in depth analyzed Dean and Sam and their relationship the way some of ya'll have.... But this episode and the state of their current relationship didn't bother me... And I say that as a Dean fan.. I've always watched for Dean... I mean, Sam's alright... but the most I usually have to say about him is that he needs a haircut. That said, I don't see the unfair portrayal that some keep harping on. Which is fine if other see it... it just shows that we all take different things from these shows... But.. This story, to me, has always been about Dean.... and for that to happen, it means Dean has to suffer more and make more hard decisions and be less the 'hero' because he has to do the tough thing. I don't think that makes him lesser somehow. Sure, the writers do fall back on the same things over and over, and Dean does usually shoulder more of the blame, but some of that is Dean himself- feeling like he deserves the blame or should shoulder the blame etc. I'm sure that doesn't make any sense... but it is what it is, I suppose.
  14. Maybe that's where they were going with the whole "looks can be deceiving" not everything is as it appears.... that "Wicked" things aren't always what they appear, so they had to mix good and wicked.... But they definitely left out what was sort of an important part of the challenge...
  15. It's shorthand for relationship.... that people who "ship" or are a "shipper" for a certain couple- Damon/Elena (Delena), Stefen/Elena (Stelena) etc. want them to be in a relationship... or it's a coupling they would find interesting. For example, This week had some interesting stuff as far as Stefen and Caroline- which is a couple that some people would like to see and might "ship" Does that make sense?
  16. I wonder if Matt is really going to end up being this season's bad guy... his vampire 'friends' have put him through a lot... and he doesn't have much of a purpose... so for him to turn on them would be quite a twist, and it would come from a real place not just some magic "i made you want to kill all vampires" kind of of thing. But I don't know if the show will actually go there...
  17. Actually liked this episode quite a bit... though that may have something to do with multitasking and not paying that much attention when the people I find boring were on screen -like the wonder twins and the whole party scene. I don't really have a ship in this race, so the Delena stuff was kind of dull for me as well, but I did like the conversations between Caroline and Stefen. I wasn't sure if Stefen was trying to figure out why someone would like him- like he's having one of those "I'm horrible, why would anybody like me" sort of personal crisis or if he's just admitting fully to himself that even though he was grieving for Damon, he was acting like a dick to someone who had been there for him... Their will they won't they actually kind of interests me, so I guess that's good. Don't care about Liam... and honestly, don't care that much about Elena. I do agree that I'm glad she tried the magic border thing to undo the compulsion, I agree that I think it will be working slowly... While I'm grateful from the Damon/Elena romance break in Damon's little "I'm no good for you, you're better off without me" deal, I'm not a fan of this 'noble sacrifice' thing... though probably mostly because I'm still a little bitter about a similar but far more permanent relationship ending "I love you but I'm bad for you, so I have to let you go" thing on another vampire show who will not be named... Loved that Damon found the bonbear at the end... I'd much rather spend a good part of the season with him working to rescue Bonnie (though, now he's going to have to admit that he knows where she is, right? Or will he try and do it himself?) instead of pining away over Elena. Good call to the posters last week who guessed that Jo was Kai's family... obviously, she's going to get pulled into the Bonnie rescue story somewhere...
  18. Very bummed :( Chris has always been one of my favorite designers and I'm very sad to see him go. I actually really loved his dress, it was Wicked and interesting and I thought it had a very cool look to it. There was a whole lot of fug on that runway and Chris's dress was definitely not the worst!! Michelle's dress was sooo boring! I liked Chris's so much more. I also thought Helen's dress was one of the ugliest things ever... I did love the comment about how it looked like she could set things on it or that it would open up into a cabinet :P But overall, I felt like the judges were smokin' something this week...though I do like the dress that they chose for a winner, so I guess that's something... I liked Justin's dress a lot too, sad that he was just in the middle.
  19. I agree that I think Sam had the chance for a more normal school life, hence participating in theatre... but it sounded to me that despite being pulled into the hunter world, Dean was still there to support Sam- he knew the two shows that Sam was involved in... he knew that Sam had only done tech for Oklahoma (loved the Wolverine crack, BTW) and I got the impression that Dean had seen the performance of the other one (was it Our Town? There were too many shows named dropped I can't remember who said which one). Which is consistent with Dean being there for Sam more than their dad ever was.
  20. I do also love that Sam and Dean come back the night of the performance to protect Marie wearing almost the exact same wardrobe as the Sam and Dean characters in the play... adorable :)
  21. I really enjoyed this episode... though I don't have as good of memory to get all of the little things... and honestly, cannot for the life of me remember what happened to Chuck... It was a nice touch to see him as 'the publisher' at the end, but didn't have quite as much impact when I couldn't remember for sure what had happened to him aside from knowing that he was gone and I assumed dead. The musical was a lot of fun, and the guys did a great job with their surprise and unease at the subject matter. It was also nice to see them both take something away from the story that Marie had written. I know it's been discussed a lot... what each brother feels- about the other and about themselves. and I've always gotten the impression that Dean feels like he's never been good enough, especially with the MoC/demon stuff (not that there's been a lot of time to see how he feels) That he's not done the right things or he's let Sam/John/Bobby down etc... so him seeing the play gave him a new perspective on himself- how others see him and everything he's done, and his relationship with his brother. I don't know if Sam was given the same sort of revelation, but I definitely like the direction they are headed together by the end of this episode. The rift between them in the past few seasons has been less enjoyable to watch... and while I think there will always be angst and tough decisions, I'd much rather see them both back to that place where they'd do anything to save each other.
  22. Glad we finally got to see this episode!! Even if it wasn't all that exciting... it was just nice to actually get the show at it's scheduled time. The drama between Sarah and the author lady was good, it's an interesting topic- the ethics/morality of working for the defense like that... and the two unrelated killers was another interesting twist. Overall, not the most compelling episode we've ever had, but it was entertaining, which is all I expect these days :P Not looking forward to the cross over/cyber whatever thing next week... too many new-ish characters cluttering up my show! I agree with the "where was Nick??"
  23. So are the Reapers just another tribe like the grounders, ones who just happen to be more violent and possibly have a taste for human flesh? or are they grounders gone crazy from Mt. Weather experiements? (Maybe they put Pax in the air) or are they Mt. Weather people who were bad/mutated/ bad outcomes from the cerberus project? I'm also expecting to learn of some sort of breeding program.. or maybe that's what they want to use the 48 for, since they are more 'civilized' than the grounders... but you'd think trying to introduce some radiation resistance into their population would be a good thing and get them out of the bunker eventually...
  24. Maybe Jo can make him a new magic ring... and instead of the other side, he can go visit Bonbon in 1994 every time he dies... :P
  25. Good call, I could see you being very correct! Kai did end up in Mystic Falls from Oregon for some reason... And if he killed most of his family in 94, and she was a kid then... that would put her about the right age. I'll be expecting this reveal to show up eventually! Ah, thanks... I couldn't remember.... I'd imagine it's not doing Matt much good while he's in mystic falls... but it's fair that he have it after everything he's been through... it's tough being the last real boy :P Though since daylight rings are so easy to get, I wouldn't be surprised if jo or liv couldn't whip up a new Gilbert ring for Alaric.
