Why are you calling shenanigans? Do you have a link from a reputable source to back up that claim?

Gender On Television: It's Like Feminism Never Happened

I caught this again on HBO, too. The best part of the movie is Diana punching Bruce after he mocked the advice that sounded as if it came from Steve Trevor. Yes, Diana, let the hate flow through you. Also, "I was running the numbers while you were being an ass." Hehe. It's shame that it took three movies for them to let Superman actually act like Superman. He was ridiculously charming in this movie.

My UO is that I wish they would move the guest actor categories to the primetime Emmys. They deserve the same recognition as lead and supporting actors.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/arts-and-entertainment/wp/2018/07/12/emmy-nominations-2018-complete-coverage/?utm_term=.41567b730248 I am thrilled for all of the acting nominations. This show has never had a problem in that regard. I'm also elated that Yvonne picked up a nomination. She deserved it.

I knew the moment when Rita said, "Hurry up and go get your shoes," that June would take 30 extra minutes to do when she needed to do. At least the writing is consistent in that regard. I am torn on June staying. I understand that she doesn't want to abandon Hannah, especially since Fred did tell her he would arrange more visits for Hannah. Funny enough, I actually believe him when he says that. It's all about power for him. However, of course they know she ran away because of the writing on the wall (and let's not forget that writing is also a crime in Gilead). They would know that she wouldn't have the means to do it on her own, and that means that every single person she encountered on her journey is at risk if/when June is interrogated. Not to mention that the Marthas risked a lot trying to help her. Also, someone brought up an excellent point regarding how Holly would eat if June isn't there to nurse her. While I understand how it can be seen careless to have June slapping Fred or telling him to go fuck himself, part of me thinks she does it because she knows it turns him on. If he is "turned on" by it, then he isn't going to get rid of her, and she has a chance to rescue Hannah. I mean, look at how he responded to her after the "go fuck yourself" comment. He wasn't angry. Oh, Serena. It's interesting because I do and don't have sympathy for her at the same time, and I 100% credit Yvonne's performance for that. I hated that those assholes cut off her finger, and I don't get enjoyment out of seeing men belittle and humiliate other women, regardless of how much the woman may deserve punishment. However, at the same time, she deserves a lot worse when you see how she treats June and Rita. She couldn't even escape with June if she wanted to because everyone in Canada knows who she is. She has no where to go. It is so apparent that Fred hates Serena. He probably couldn't helped her, but he had no interest in doing so. The Marthas were the MVPs this episode. I want to see more Rita. I really wish in season three that this show will explore reunification after captivity with Emily. I think it's really important to show the after effects. We really didn't fully get that with Moira, but we can with Emily because she'll be reunited with her wife and child. Life just can't go back to normal after three years in such conditions. Also, I just want more Alexis Bledel on my screen. Remember, don't do drugs.

1. Using retarded as an insult? Really? 2. June isn't one traumatizing Hannah. That would be Gilead.

DC has by far the most name recognition worldwide.

The side Holly gave Serena when she was sucking on that dry nipple is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. She looked at Serena like, "WTF? I will cut you." I wish I cared about Eden. She had so much potential, and she was wasted. Ugh.

I watched June slapping Fred way too many times.

C'mon, Black Panther, you can do it!

Well, I think Jake looks more mature than Ryan. I'd absolutely buy him being the father to young teens, especially with the beard. However, Ryan Gosling still has too much of a boyish look to his face. I don't think that's vanity; it's just realizing what's actually believable, IMO. I can't realistically see him playing a parent to a child older than ten years old.
-
Hell, I still wouldn't buy Gosling playing the father of a teenager.

Trailers & New Movies: Coming Soon to a Cinema Near You!
PepSinger replied to nymusix's topic in Everything Else About Movies
I'm excited for First Man. I really hope it's as good as the trailer implies, and I love me some Ryan Gosling. I will also be seeing The Hate U Give. I had no idea it was based on a book. -
Why. Is. It. Always. Snowing?! I live in Boston. It isn't an endless winter here. I actually laughed out loud during the Serena/Fred fight. It was well done, but to hear Serena called Fred a "fucking idiot" and Fred saying if they end up on the wall he'd still fucking be next to her. Haha! While the scene between June and Holly was beautiful, I need this show to move the plot along. My playwriting teacher had a rule where if a scene didn't reveal new information, then it should be cut. What was new information in this episode?

Yeah, I've never had a problem with the CGI in DCEU movies, either. I've watched Wonder Woman an ungodly amount of times, and I didn't think the CGI during the final battle was bad at all. If anything, the issue is that there's too much all at once, and the final fight had Snyder written all over it.

Gotta love that the entire DCEU is being carried on the backs of two women.
