  1. I choose to believe that the leather for my shoes is from a DEAD [whew] cow NOT killed for its leather. I'm hesitant to research "cow leather" though. I may be deluding myself. OT: I was under the impression that Jill was making the vegan banana bread for the student group.
  2. I can't bear to watch forceps births. Many babies WERE injured by forceps births in the 1950s and 60s, at least. I met adults who'd suffered brain damage from it when I volunteered in a group home in the early 80s.
  3. I think it's because he probably had an actual nurturing parent.
  4. Really?! Damn. I'm visually-impaired but I would've sworn it was Philip. Never mind
  5. Why is he even there, at a 7th grade girls' Bible Study? Has to make sure Jill stays on-script? eta: ginger90 had the same thought. I really should finish the thread before commenting. 2nd edit: ginger90 and others!
  6. It's realistic for people within a family to have different political views. I'm not buying that Roseanne the character would be a Trump supporter. Roseanne the character and the show were progressive and took a lot of flak for it. I can see Bev maybe. I'm thinking an argument could be made for pretty much anyone except Roseanne and Darlene. People are entitled to their political views. I just think it's character assassination to have Roseanne the feminist be a Trump supporter. Like others, I don't remember actual politicians being a part of the show. I don't need to watch any more divisiveness. I've seen plenty in real life. I'm really disappointed and I won't watch. also: pussyhats are cat ears. Are asterisks needed?
  7. I didn't see any ambiguity in the scene on Tonga that had him being led away by the hand from the fire, finger to lips as he looked back at shipmates.
  8. I think Meghan's contract demands she support Trump. There is simply no other logical explanation. [sigh]
  9. I wonder if Auj and Jeremy were patrons: http://www.wweek.com/bars/news-bars/2017/11/29/40-year-old-downtown-gay-club-embers-will-close-thursday-night/ [I thought of it when I first saw the news about a month ago. Forgot to post then.]
  10. Maybe he met her and wanted to "Free Jinger" too? I have no idea. She certainly looks happy, though.
  11. The baby wasn't without oxygen. I think it was Sister Julienne who said that his breathing must've been so shallow and his heartbeat so faint that it didn't register with Val. She didn't have a stethoscope. Also something about her filling his lungs. I thought the baby would "revive" when the hot water bottle was put in with him. Took long enough! I don't usually watch things that set out to make me cry, but for some reason I just can't quit CtM.
  12. Quilt Fairy, "ahold" is a word. You might not care for it, but it is. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/ahold
  13. But at least she's updated her eyeliner game. I think it looks better.
  14. Can you imagine what cheerleader bikini-wearing-lawn-mowing Michelle would say about this look? I was thinking there must be some serious problems hiding under there. She's got to know she looks ridiculous. Doesn't she????
  15. Hmmm...so on Policies page it says: "No Pets. Please call for help in making arrangements to board your pet." But then on the Shop page, she'll take your $150 Pet Deposit--although actually $50 of it is a non-refundable fee. And I've been unable to find a concierge service link mentioned in this awkward sentence: "Should your travels be including a flight and purchasing pet food will be a challenge, please view our concierge service and our Inn's staff would be happy to assist!" That's one terrifying welcome when she opens the front door and shouts at us in her Vlog post. Also, so professionally done. [yeah, sarcasm.]
  16. I'm not recommending a tattoo. I'm just saying that I see how it can start a conversation. Totally agree about the pink stuff. One of my "ailments" comes complete with bracelets and t-shirts, etc. No thanks.
  17. It really totally transforms his face, doesn't it? He just lights up.
  18. It can be a conversation starter. I'm thinking of the tattoo, particularly.
  19. I agree. Matt Smith is just odd-looking. I don't think he looks anything like Philip. The nose is especially off.
  20. Ben can wear a mask to clean if he's allergic to dust. That's what I was told to do. Have we heard Ben complain about a dirty house? I'm a big believer in "if it bothers you, take care of it yourself." I think they're both home enough to clean their house. Starbucks money alone would probably pay for someone to come in and do a deep clean.
  21. I thought this was your original point, Mojito. ;) I live in Portland and just heard from a Seattle exile that our public transportation is so much better. I haven't owned a car for 3+ years. I lived in NYC way back in the day--early 80s. All I did was move my car from one side of the street to the other for street cleaning. Sold it very quickly. No need for a car in NYC, just a pain and an expense.
  22. Billy Graham wasn't the head of a religion. He was a rube.
  23. Yeah, I didn't think the voice was right at all. I remember the breathy whisper voice from the footage I've seen. I don't find the Kennedy miscasting to be a surprise at all ('though it didn't bother me) considering the casting of Philip.
