Transport can be arranged! Just sayin :)

Meet my (very) temporary foster, Amirah. Name chosen because she was definitely a princess in a past life. She went apeshit in her paperbox so I let her out and she jumped in the backseat and curled up as if she is used to being chauffeured. Then, at a red light, she came to the front and sat curled up in my lap as I drove. Never saw a kitten so used to a car before. Ella and Diamond just stare at her and she is hissing and growling as if she can hold her own. She will be placed in the bathroom overnight, but for right now she is relaxing in the hoop portion of their cat tree (they never sit in it). Poor lighting in my apartment but you can tell she is a diva. I included one of her in daytime lighting.

Heh, I came across that same meme and was going to post it here too! You beat me to it!

I can't blame Connie for wanting to leave after 1 season. She just ended a long stint on Nashville not that long ago. If she wants to jump around, good for her. I'm not seeing the big deal around JLH. RM needs Angela and Peter more than they need him; if they had objections to her hiring, they would have said so long before we heard about it. And they both have been in the business long enough to hear stories about people, so I'm sure that any issues would have been addressed before the first table reading. There will always be people protesting when one actress leaves and another takes over. RM shows always seem to do fine. I'm here mostly for Angela and Peter, so JLH is a non-factor IMO

Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"
AgentRXS replied to Betweenyouandme's topic in Everything Else
I find that in today's world, people attempt to be as loud and obnoxious as possible whenever they get an opportunity to do so. I live on a corner of a street. When the weather is breezy or cool, I open my windows. I cannot tell you how many people stop right in front of my window to have loud conversations or yell into their cell phones. My complex has no sidewalk so they either have to stand on the edge of my lawn or out in the street to carry on like that. Very few people are able to go out in public and not try to draw attention to themselves, it seems. Peeve: People in drive-thrus that are so absorbed in their phones that they don't move the line ahead and leave large gaps between themselves and the car in front of them. Leaving 1 or 2 car lengths of distance between yourself and the driver ahead of you is now causing two people to wait longer to get their order in, and is causing the line behind you to pile up. I really wish that all phones were automatically disabled (minus emergency calls and GPS) once people entered vehicles. People can't handle having access to their phones and driving a car at the same time. -
Nope. She has always been born in '79. I know this because I was obsessed with teen rags back in the day (I had no cable back then). I'm not a huge fan of hers but I don't think she should be fired over her crazy fanbase. If stars were punished over obsessive fanbases, then Beyonce wouldn't have a career. I agree that we don't need a 9-1-1 operator, but obviously Ryan feels differently, and its his show. Luckily, I can take her or leave her so she doesn't affect my enjoyment of the show.

They did. There was a scene where they showed red high heels attached to a body crushed underneath the rubble, I'm assuming it was her. Hen touched her leg, felt that it was cold, and then Bobby drew the X on top of the rubble. They better not!
-
Ella is the same way. I don't blame her-the height difference would terrify me too if the roles were reversed.
-
@Mindthinkr I was always that 2nd-class citizen as a child, so I will say it for you. Bastard. He is a fucking bastard.

This is the only part that bugged me. Leslie and Adina are the same age, and look it. They have 4 millennials in the outpost....why give those lines to her? A bit off-topic but every time she is on-screen, it makes me wish that Ryan would have gotten her to play Joan Crawford in "Feud" instead of Jessica. I'm loving this season so far. Cody Fern has great chemistry with Paulson and Peters so I think he's definitely secured his place in Murphy's troupe as well.

The actors were already contractually obligated to Season 11 and ABC would've been forced to buy out all their contracts, so this spinoff is just a way to make some of their money back as well as showing Roseanne Barr that life does go on without her. I hope the sitcom succeeds just to knock Roseanne Barr's ego down a few notches. If Metcalf really puts her all into portraying Jackie again, she could easily slide into the matriarch role and do some fantastic work this season. If she phones it in and falls back on crazy Jackie, the show is toast. Jackie is going to feel obligated to "take care" of Roseanne's family as well as trying to process the devastation of losing the person whom her whole life has revolved around. It's great material for an actor to work with, if the writing team can step up to the plate. I am also curious to see if the Bev/Jackie dynamic changes without Roseanne around.

Florida (specifically South FL) average temps in the 90s for 9 months out of the year, high humidity, and of course, hurricanes. Terrible thunderstorms with lightning in the spring and summer. In fact, just a couple days ago there was a huge lightning strike just outside my window. 3 months on average of good weather, but during those times, the area is so inundated with tourists that its stressful to go to the anywhere. Overdevelopment combined with converting driving lanes into longer sidewalks/bicycle lanes has made traffic even worse. Alternate transportation is a no go--the bus schedule is still unchanged from the '80s in Ft. Lauderdale. Northern and Central FL is probably less hectic (although development is changing that) but good paying jobs are hard to come by in some of those areas. We are also in the midst of an algae crisis throughout the state that is polluting our waterways. But hey, c'mon down! :)

Gawd, she is such an asshole for spoiling it. A tiny part of me is sad that the Roseanne Conner I grew up with would die in such a way, but the larger part of me is glad that Roseanne Barr's character is getting that kind of send off. The commercial of the kitchen makes me sad because its almost like looking back on my childhood. I long for the good parts of Roseanne Conner/Barr and wish to forget how obnoxious Roseanne Conner became as Barr bought into her own fame. I still hate Barr for what she's done to the show's legacy and to Roseanne Conner's legacy. However, a tiny part of me will always love the person that brought early Roseanne Conner to the small screen and fought to keep her realistic. Her and Bill Cosby really broke my heart once I found out who they really were.

Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"
AgentRXS replied to Betweenyouandme's topic in Everything Else
I have a few this morning: 1) A Starbucks close to my home recently moved a couple blocks down from their original location. Of course the new store is more modernized. Yesterday, I went through the drive-thru and I got the scare of my life. Instead of talking into a blank screen or a box, the barista's face covers the whole screen as they talk to you via webcam. The mic level was way too loud so all I saw was this giant head screaming "Welcome to Starbucks, how can I help you today?" It was quite jarring and I hope this is not the wave of the future with other drive-thrus. I'll take the old-fashioned box any day over that. 2)Blueberries. I just brought blueberries from Trader Joe's and the whole container was sour. I hate that they are so hit or miss. This is the first sour batch I've purchased in awhile. 3)Blatant inconsideration or people just purposely trying to get you aggravated. Went to the laundromat yesterday and this woman took my cart that I had in front of the dryer that I was using even though there were only 2 of us in the place and there were about 7-8 carts being unused in the place. Then I went to work and was deep cleaning my vehicle when my co-worker pulled up next to me, got out of her vehicle, and left her truck running, leaving me to smell and feel the warm exhaust on a hot day with no breeze. I almost passed out several times before she finally came back and shut her engine off. 4) I can't stand the media's coverage of Flo. Yes, its a frightening storm, even to hurricane veterans. I am nervous for everyone in the Carolinas. However, referring to it as "Monster Storm Flo" does nothing but illicit panic and chaos. I miss the old days when they just reported the weather and gave hurricane prep tips. Now it's all "RUN FOR YOUR LIFE". Yes, the people who live in evacuation zones should evacuate, and yes, damage is going to happen. I just don't see the point in all the scare tactics that will cause more death and injury due to everyone being in a panic-driven excited state. -

Yup, that is exactly what happened to me as well. And then my other friend, who is known to do this, called out of the blue and I had to ignore her call because I'm in no mood to hear two life stories in one day. -

Yup, that's what happened with us and Irma last year. Tropical storm force winds and we were still out of power for almost 2 weeks. Trying to sleep in 80 degree heat is no fun. Hoping Flo takes a surprise turn northward and heads back out to sea. I hope all of you its path stay safe and are minimally impacted. Peeve: When you are feeling low and call a friend to talk about it, only to have them blather on about what's going on in their life without letting you get a word in edgewise, and then rush to get off the phone when they run out of things to say. I texted with my friend before hand to see if it was ok to vent to her so it's not like I interrupted anything. So over the narcissism I'm seeing in most everyone I interact with anymore. -
I am so sorry @Mountainair. Hugs to you.

You know, I've never once heard a man complain about this issue. What is it about women that that they refuse to clean up after themselves? I have no shame in calling other women out for it too. A couple days ago, I followed behind a woman that left the seat covered in urine, and as she was exiting the room, I said "EWW, some women are so disgusting and have zero couth" loud enough for her to hear. And of course, she didn't flush either. Anyone over the age of 10 and under the age of 100 has no excuse. -

People in South FL tend to be full of impatience and lack common sense, as I'm sure @DeLurkercan also attest to. -
Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"
AgentRXS replied to Betweenyouandme's topic in Everything Else
Here's a drive-thru peeve: When the drive-through worker takes forever to acknowledge your presence/take your order, so you're sitting there waiting for a voice to come through on the call box while people behind you assume you are an indecisive customer and start honking and waving at you. That bugs because then a line builds up and they start taking orders more rapidly so it makes you look like the jerk. I can't stand that. Or this: https://www.news4jax.com/lifestyle/social/video-mcdonalds-employee-gives-customer-unwanted-earful-at-drive-thru The customer is better than me because I would have given her and the manager an earful in return. -

That's starting to change due to online ordering. I've gone into Starbucks several times and had to wait at least 5 minutes to be acknowledged due to the baristas being overwhelmed with online orders. These places should have a separate station for online orders during peak times, but none don't. I can't stand that they rush to make these online orders first, even though the person hasn't arrived yet and the drink is just going to sit, while the physical customer has to wait to get their drink. I know, its irrational, but it does suck. That being said, today I am grateful for Panera's online ordering( though I'm peeved that their delivery service isn't available) because I ordered my soup for pick up and didn't have to interact with a single soul with my raspy voice. Their delivery service is down due to spur-of-the-moment Tropical Storm Gordon, whom meteorologists insisted was going to be nothing. Meteorologists are my peeve today. -
It sounds like it could possibly be ringworm to me and he could also pick that up in boarding if exposed to another cat that had it OR if he's ever had it before, it can reoccur from stress. If you can attach a photo, I can tell you what I think it is from working at an animal shelter and seeing all sorts of skin conditions, but it is really best to take him to a vet for a skin scrape.

Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"
AgentRXS replied to Betweenyouandme's topic in Everything Else
I probably am too since I am also a mouth-breather. Its just that 95% of the time I've shared a bed with someone, they've fallen asleep first and if they are a snorer I have to deal with the noise. I have chronic neck and back pain that makes it hard for me to get comfortable enough to sleep anyway, so snoring just sends me over the edge. In reference to your antibiotic peeve, I also have gastritis and GERD and have the same side effects. I usually end up taking one pill a day instead of two, or if they prescribe it once a day, I cut in half. -

AgentRXS replied to Betweenyouandme's topic in Everything Else
My peeve is other people's snoring. It's a cruel joke that such a loud and obnoxious sound should be allowed to be produced by our bodies, and the snorer gets to sleep soundly while the companion has to suffer such noise pollution. My sister slept over last night and we shared my bed since my couch isn't very comfortable for either of us to sleep on. OMFG. It was non-stop noise from the moment she fell asleep until the moment she woke up. Everytime I got to sleep, another loud honk woke me up. She doesn't believe that she snores like that on top of it. Add that on to me coming down with a cold and dealing with all the aches and pains associated with that, and its good thing she left for work first thing this morning because I think I am liable to bite anyone's head off if I had to have face-to-face communication with them. This forum is as much "peopling" as I want to do today. -
In Memoriam: Entertainment Industry Celebrity Deaths

Probably has a lot to do with Michigan's rule that the estate of anyone who dies without a will must be divided equally among the children. Instead of having to sit and decide who gets this or that, she trusted her sons to be ok with each getting a 1/4 of her estate and called it good. Hopefully her other sons do right by Clarence.
