  1. I'm so annoyed. I am a huge Amazon shopper. I usually get stuff delivered to my apartment at least once a week. Yesterday I had part of a shipment arrive (bedding and couch cover) and the comforter was to be delivered today. I live on a corner unit in a residential neighborhood with no gated communities within at least a 3 mile radius. My package wasn't delivered because "USPS wasn't able to enter your building to deliver your package". WTF. Now, on top of having a dental filling tomorrow, I have to contact USPS to find out what the fuck is going on. So tired of the idiocy of people.
  2. Man, this this topic is right up my alley. There is just something about '60s R&B---what a magical time for music. Any and everything by Sam Cooke and Marvin Gaye are at the top of my list. Just about every Motown hit single ever mentioned puts me in a great mood. Shout, Twist and Shout, and This Ol Heart of Mine by the Isley Brothers--such fun music.
  3. Possibly the worst ep of AHS I've ever watched (I skipped Roanoake). The Satanists were so embarassingly cheesy as was the temptation of God in the woods. How sad that it is one of the last 3 episodes. What a waste of an hour and Cody Ferns talent.
  4. It also could be that in a small town like Lanford, most of the men are long-term married like Dan/Rosie were and she knows all of them too well to want to date them should they become available due to their spouse dying or through divorce. Maybe she feels like late '40s is the youngest acceptable age group she can get away with dating without too much town gossip. It is weirdly specific. It is sort of weird that Becky, Darlene and Jackie are all potentially looking for men in the same age range.
  5. Jackie always has been a bit of a cougar so I'm not surprised that she is looking for men approximately 15 years younger.
  6. This feels so much more like the original show that the reboot last year. That was classic Dan with Matthew Broderick. I actually was LOLing. Also, that was classic old-school Jackie: meeting a man, begging for (negative) feedback, and getting mad when someone is honest. Laurie looked great in that cheerleader costume. Nice job of handling the PC costume stuff fairly. Becky continues to be over the top, but its a mild complaint. Loved seeing the Muslim couple again. I was worried they got the boot along with Roseanne.
  7. My former foster kitten helping the new hooman's kid with her schoolwork and cuddling with her sister (she's the one on top).
  8. Wow. That is rude as hell.Speaking of rude smokers, last night I was stopped at stoplight and a homeless man was walking up and down the middle of the intersection begging for money, with a cigarette in hand. I was on his left side, and the cigarette was in his left hand. My window was rolled down because it was a cool night down here. When he got to my car, he leans over and places the hand with the cigarette on my door, causing all this smoke to blow through my seat. If he didn't look half out of his mind, I would have taken that cigarette out of his hand and thrown it to the ground. He then proceeded to do the same thing to the next 3 cars behind me. A homeless man just got killed by a hit and run driver at that same intersection just a month ago. I'm not sure if he is purposely trying to be victim #2, but I don't see the invasive cigarette thing turning out well for for him if he keeps it up.
  9. Fyi,fast-casual restaurants: Just because I placed my order online does not mean I should or will accept cold food being given to me upon arrival. Don't use online ordering as an excuse to cast off shitty food. You really don't want me to have to read you for filth on social media. Thanks.
  10. I just love that Laurie Metcalf stays working in the business and hasn't destroyed her face. Her face looks lived in and she looks her age but she still looks good for her age. She's one of those people that is both beautiful but there is something that is "everywoman" about her also. I wonder if Roseanne was ever jealous that Laurie was so secure in herself that she didn't feel the need to go under the knife like she did. Lecy looks fine to me. I think John may have lost a little bit of too much weight for his frame, but if it is what was needed to be done to keep him healthy, then it is what it is. Natalie looked old when she was young so to me she looks about the same in the face.
  11. Its that time of year again. Suddenly all the people with children who haven't bothered to work overtime all year are now clamoring for it because their darling children must have the latest gadget for Christmas. Ol' Reliable (aka me) gets the shaft because I'm childless. Its incredibly frustrating to explicitly state that I am willing to work as much overtime as possible and still not getting as much time as the senior people above me, but then when Nov comes around, my overtime gets cut even more because suddenly everyone wants a piece of the pie. The most senior person in my section is getting 14 days of overtime (possibly 16 if he chooses to work Thanksgiving and Black Friday). 16 out of 30 days is insane, but he has 3 children and they need gadgets. Ugh. Guess which day I will be expected to work this year? You got it, Christmas. One year, I ended up working the AM and PM shift because no one wanted to do it. The last two years I've declined simply because it fell on my regular days off. I got called selfish by other people who had Christmas plans they had to cancel. Just because I'm single, childless, and the holiday means nothing to me doesn't mean I am obligated to work so that other people can have a social life. I deserve my downtime, even if it is just vegging in front of the couch with a book. I can't stand this time of year. Please let these 2 months fly by.
  12. Bye, BD Wong. Zoe's "I've never seen anyone do anything like that before" is code for "We didn't have the budget for this during the Coven season, but we do now!". So I guess Michael's "interviews" at the Outpost was him really testing them to see if any of them actually remember their true identities? And why didn't they resurrect Joan Collins if she is also a witch? Where's Misty? I could have done with out the Papa Legba/Nan stuff. Behold Chablis is the best witch/warlock name ever.
  13. The old Dan would have for sure, but I understand why he didn't now . He just lost his wife, the last thing he wants right now is to not be on speaking terms with Becky. Becky and Dan are alike in that they will stonewall the hell out of whoever they are pissed off at. I don't think Dan can handle that right now. It was always Roseanne attempting to mend fences between them, and she is gone. I'm not sure Darlene and Jackie have the patience to tolerate their respective stubbornness.
  14. Yes, but if things have been so crazy that she's forgotten that she's late OR if she's irregular and expects it to come eventually, she's not going to be thinking that she's possibly pregnant. Like I said, the oddly specific mention of 3 months (right when TV characters always seem to find out they're pregnant) just made my ears perk up. Hopefully it is a misdirect.

I wonder if Athena's ever shared some of Bobby's past with Michael and the kids. It seems like they know he is hurting and are doing their best to welcome him and make him feel at home. I guess I didn't see the big deal about the pictures. Bobby was on the end, so he can always be Photoshopped out if things go sour in the future.
  16. They were oddly specific that David and Darlene had sex 3 months ago. I really hope it isn't that she is pregnant with David's baby. They can fanwank it that she is irregular or was too busy dealing with Roseanne's death to notice she wasn't regular. Ugh. Then again, I hope Harris isn't pregnant either, because the teen pregnancy storyline is too cliche. Can I just say I flove Jackie without Roseanne? Yeah, she has a few wacky moments, but she feels more like the older version of pre-Gilligan Jackie. I loved Geena's "You left her for a woman that thinks God lives in the dirt?". I want more Geena and Mary too. Lecy's overacting a bit, and its cringeworthy, but I love the growth in Dan and Becky's relationship. Everytime he's attempted to take a hard line with her, its backfired tremendously so I don't blame him for dealing with her with kid gloves, especially so soon after Roseanne's death. Roseanne isn't here to mend things between them anymore so he doesn't want to lose her for good. Nice continuity between Bev's alcoholism, to Roseanne's pill addiction, to Becky's alcoholism. Dan was a borderline alcoholic also back in the day so it's not surprising that one of the kids inherited the trait.
  17. I am flabbergasted that this is a thing now. In elementary school, the only thing I knew about my teacher was his/her last name. In middle/high school, teachers vented to us students about the lack of pay and warned us not to pursue teaching as a career unless we didn't need the money.Wildly unprofessional, but that was the extent of the personal info we got. Other than Valentine Day cards or maybe an end-of-the year gift, they didn't receive or want anything from us.

I love this show. Buck was clearly looking for a younger version of Abby in that reporter, and I'm glad she was honest about who she is. So many women try to change or hide things about themselves to land a "hot" guy, so I really loved when she told him she didn't care if he didn't like her or her actions. I didn't really feel like any of the actors were good at playing "high" but I did love the Athena and Bobby's addiction discussion and the blended family homecoming scene. Also, loved tough Athena being freaked out by the kitty (serval?). I could do with out the domestic violence stuff, but I think Chimney and Maddie make a cute couple.
  19. Awesome! I really want Jackie's story arc to be that her life gets infinitely better with out her co-dependent relationship with Roseanne and how she feels conflicted about that.
  20. @tiftgirl I am so sorry. Bastet is exactly right---we will all be here for you when you need us. Non-creepy hugs to both you and Shana. Came here to share photos of some of my parking lot cats at my job, Aren't they adorable?
  21. Another thing similar to that story was The Black Pope and his 2 other worshippers following a "dark star towards the west" to find Michael, just like the Three Wise Men following the bright star of the East to find Jesus. Makes sense for the Anti-Christ to have the evil version of the story of Christ.
  22. This. Even though Roseanne Barr was an awful actress in Season 1, we all gave her a pass because she felt like one of us. Yeah, she laughed after her lines, but most of the time,we were laughing right along with her. Roseanne Barr's portrayal of Roseanne Conner was awesome right up until about Season 6. Season 7 and beyond, Roseanne Barr allowed her bitterness and ego get in the way of her portrayal of Roseanne Conner and Roseanne Conner became sarcastic and mean instead of sarcastic and witty. I could easily see the later seasons Roseanne Conner evolving into reboot Roseanne Conner, minus the politics. It bugged me that my favorite show ever (and by extension this show) got accused of pandering to a certain political fanbase. The show was never about politics--Barr is the one that brought that back with her, and it overshadowed the whole reboot. I am glad to be free of that, mostly. The fact that some view this show being brought back as a win for the blues, and an attack on the reds is ridiculous. This is simply about Roseanne Barr doing something offensive for attention (like she's done since forever) and having it backfire against her this time. I have to admit, I did raise my eyebrow that when I saw the one religious character was a black woman. However, I could see both her and DJ becoming more religious since their enlistment, so I let it slide. This show did an excellent job avoiding stereotypes with Chuck and Anne-Marie, so I hope the new writers continue in the same vein with Geena.
  23. Re: The Harmons It was implied that Viv and Ben had a falling out over Michael. Viv pretty much never wanted anything to do with him, and Ben wanted to treat him as his own at first. I could see how he got the silent treatment over that. Jaime Brewer's character in Season 1 didn't die on Murder House property. Constance didn't get her body on the land in time. I forgot what happened to her character in Coven.
  24. Emma and Billy really play well off each other. I figured their pairing would either be really awesome or really awful. I'm glad that it turned out well. Poor Violet and Vivian, what sucky afterlives. Violet for spending all this time heartbroken over Tate, and Vivian for being stuck with a newborn for all eternity. No wonder Viv looked so out of it. I loved Tate's reaction to Michael. Tate has zero emotional maturity so of course he couldn't handle being a "father". I will always love Murder House, so even though this was cheesy at times, I still loved it. However, that was just enough of Jessica that was needed for the season, IMO. I was so absorbed in Michael's backstory that the scene chewing didn't bother me too much. There was zero point in showing Billie again, in fact, she was absolutely annoying and aggravating. I was so close to yelling "Shut up and get out of the way. I want to find out what's up with Michael". (Side note to Ryan: I love you and your shows 1000% but Sarah does not need to be included in every ep of AHS, for crying out loud. Please stop shoehorning her in. Thanks.)
  25. It tickles me that JLH is wearing her shirt untucked (to hide whatever pooch she thinks she has) and unbuttoned (to reveal her cleavage) while everyone else at the call center is buttoned up and tucked in. Aaah, good-old Hollywood vanity. If Gloria's been doing it for 8 months, I'm sure some complaints would have been filed prior to Maddie getting involved, but this is TV. Just like Maddie forgetting that she has a BLOCK feature on her smartphone.....how would we ever realize how unhinged Gloria is if we don't see her repeatedly bugging the shit out of Maddie with crazy messages? Me too! I think she looks good with the short wig (it compliments her cheekbones) and like you said, it fits with the character. Like others, I can't stand Hen's ex and hopefully this is the last of her. I also don't really care for Hen's wife either but I love that they are friends with Athena's ex as well. Love seeing the crew interact together in their personal lives.
